It is does cost more after the fact. It is a very nice hotel that is near just about everything. The hotel staff is very helpful in making sure you get everything taken care of. When i was there several parties took place so some of the entrances where closed for that use and the lobby got a bit crowded.

We really liked it. The area was perfect. Very close to the beach. Staff was great and room very clean.

I was excited to stay at the Fairmount, but from check in to check out, the hotel was one disappointment after the next. The front desk attendant, Chad, was particularly unfriendly. The room was worn and outdated and the bathroom had a bad smell. While the ocean view and balcony were quite nice, the noise from the restaurant was truly obnoxious -- and lasted until about 2 am every night. The location is good and within walking distance of most everything. The valet service was quite slow - dropping the car in the evening (midweek) took at least 15 minutes. I enjoyed the bathroom products - but we received only one bottle of shampoo for four days and two people. Ultimately, I was happy to depart this hotel as it certainly was the low point of an otherwise pleasant trip to California.

Great location near the beach and promenade, great service. Rooms are large, comfortable and clean. most rooms have ocean view.

Staff was wonderful! So nice and helpful. Beach club was perfect. Great location.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Fairmont. The beds are heavenly. You can walk out the door and jog/walk/do yoga on the beach. The big outside mall is just a block away. The hotel restaurant FIG is healthy and delicious! No wonder Arnold Schwarzenegger eats his breakfast there at least twice a week!

Caitlin at front desk gave us an upgrade after balcony room we booked was not available. She was awesome!

Room was not ready on time . Breakfast took 30 minutes after ordering. Left my oc in room and had to track down numerous people to help

We went shopping swimming bike riding dinner dancing. Great time!

Great location, great facility for a younger professional looking to spend some money and have a great place to stay at. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The Bungalow Bar is outstanding!

The service was impeccable- very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect and centrally located near other Santa Monica attractions. It was nice having nightlife at Bungalow right there within the hotel. All and all, an amazing time.

Fantastic Hotel and great location. Beautiful place to stay for work or fun.

Hotel is old but and not very luxurious as we had expected. Bathrooms were very basic with old sinks. Definitely needs a lift

My stay was absolutely impackable ! It all and above what I expected, would recommend it to all my friends.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location, close to the Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica pier. I enjoyed using the bikes for a long ride along the beach. Fun trip. Will be back.

A bit expensive but a wonderful stay and a festive atmosphere. We loved it ! (there was a wedding that night so valet parking was a bit messy)

Location is perfect on Ocean Drive, facility is top notch, service is professional, restaurant/bar is comfy. When in LA on business, we stay here whenever we can, and the drive downtown is easy on I-10. Only flaw was an overstuffed pillow!

Had to wait 2.5 hours to check in when my reservation stated 1:00pm check in time. Was told because previous people wouldn't leave their room or check out and I should call ahead next time? Why is this my problem if the hotel has stated I could check in at 1:00pm? How does "calling ahead" work if I'm driving from a 2 hour distance? Not 5 star treatment.

Beautiful, excellent service, great yoga class, responsive staff, love it!!

Took my 17 year old son and 14 year old daugher for some connection time. Slept, shopped, cruised the beach, hung by the pool. Phones were off at least some of the time. It was fantastic! Staff were outstanding and amenitites were great. Loved the location, gym and pool area.
