The room was not cleaned well. The sheets weren't changed and needed to be. There were pistachio shells under the bed, and the bathroom floor had hair on it. And the window's screen had a cut in it which made it seem as if someone had broken into it before. Sketchy guests hang out all night long outside.

It's the feel of a budget hotel without the budget price. At least not on a holiday weekend. Cigarette burnt quilts, stiff beds, and less than exciting breakfast (they didn't even have scrambled eggs). I could understand and be ok with the pricing based on out initial arrival. Although when we first arrived there was a strong pot smell in out non smoking room. We figured it was a coincidence and thought nothing of it as it went away shortly thereafter. Only to arrive back home to it after it had been cleaned by hotel staff the following day. When approached about it, my girlfriend was only told pot is legal in CA and there isn't anything they could really do, as they handed her a spray freshener. With no concern and no response that it was a non smoking room and that pot is only legal for medical use as far as I'm aware in CA. Everything was fine once we left the do not disturb sign on the door for the rest of our stay though. Although the checkout could have been easier if the one and only staff member available didn't leave the office with 3 guests waiting on him for about 10 minutes.

Staff was nice. The room smelled like cigarettes and pot. Room felt dirty.

The breakfast was nice the room adiquit. The property was under construction and so things like cleaning the pool and the deck, tables etc didn't seem to be on the list.there was a pair of ducks depositing waste around the pool area. There were several days nice enough tò swim, and I would have if the pool was clean. The most disturbing thing was that the threshold was never placed back up to and under the door leaving a huge gap into the room. We rolled up our bath mat to put in the gap as not to get any critters in the room with us. The layout of the tub toIièt area was very small and hard to negoitate. We were there 7 days I wish though there was a desk, small table to eat at or play cards would have been nice. The security lights shined into the room all night till 6 am when they would finally turn off. Security was nice but a dark room is good too. We never were able to connect to the free wifi. So the things that we chose this hotel for the WiFi and pool we never were able to use

Trash all over the place. No effort to clean up. Will not stay here again.

Hair in the bed and showers. Very dirty. Would never stay at again.

The staff was friendly. The location was the best part. The Hotel itself was beyond mediocre. We left early. It was not at all on par for the price. More like a 1 or 2 star rating instead of 3. I would not recommend going through Oebutz again....

Hotel is very conveniently located. Room was clean and staff was very nice. only down side was shower curtain rod seemed like it was falling. I told the staff and nothing was done about it. Curtain did not stretch out and water was splashing out of tub. Not a big deal, but made it uncomfortable to shower knowing outside was getting wet. Other than that, it was great, peaceful, quiet, and looked very clean. All hotels in Santa Cruz are expensive, so this was average price. Will stay there again.

On our annual beach trip we usually stay at Ramada. The hotel continues to improve its cleanliness. Staff is always friendly. This is an excellent location for all your beach activities.

Hotel was conveniently located near the boardwalk. The bed was comfortable. Served it's purpose of staying one night in Santa Cruz

Hotel was OK. Average room. Could use some updating. Close to the boardwalk.

The breakfast was not that great. The lady tending to food was more interested in talking on here cell pone. The bed was comforting. Location was convienant.

This hotel was very poorly maintained. Our room had a broken and very noisy refrigerator, and only one bulb in the 2-bulb lamp between the beds. Lots of peeling paint on outside walls. Although we had requested a non-smoking room, both the room and the bed linens smelled of smoke. This is by far the worst experience I have had with this hotel chain (usually a good value) I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I would recommend this hotel. The hotel was clean and front desk was very helpful with all our needs. This is my hotel of choice when we want to get away with the kids for the weekend.

The hotel about average,I stayed at other Hotels that had about the same amenities For a better deal.Rooms were clean,But Blankets had stains and cigarette holes And t.v. had a few issues and WiFi wasn't Really working good.I wouldn't stay at this Location again unless I received a better rate.

For the price of the hotel,it is so worth it. Comfortable beds and free Breakfast, wifi, big flat screen. It's just right.

Overall z good experience. Good location, nice staff, good continental breakfast. I'd stay here again.

The room looked as if it needed renovating i.e. tile in bathroom, rusty shower head base, front door bottom seal was in need of repair..little touches that would make the room worth the $180 per night..It DID have a safe, microwave, fridge, coffee pot and TV, wifi, but the morning breakfast was monopolized by people who took volumes of food to their rooms and left the waffle batter empty..It was as if transients were housed there and helped themselves to the complimentary foodstuffs..Two families stood at the waffle machine and made 15 waffles..stacked them and poured at least 6 glasses of juice and came back for at least 6 glasses of milk..which, in theory, is ok, but it made me feel as if I was in a Red Cross shelter.. The city/town of Santa Cruz was busy, so other hotel/motel choices were booked or in a worse location to where I was headed, so Ramada's location was convenient.. We travel a lot and this place is not up to what we're used to..though the outside looked attractive, except the landscaping had wilted and past their beauty prime.. We had to ask a hotel maid to let us into the pool area so we could sit and eat our fruit while waiting for our room to be ready..We were early and DID leave to drive around for 1 hour, as requested, before returning to wait just a little while longer.. The maid and male cleaning were helpful and doing a good job.. The desk person needed help and she was the only one and not at the desk for 5 customers coming and going who were ringing the bell..The afternoon found another individual who gave me directions to the nearest pharmacy, so that was helpful.. I generally do not give such negative reviews, but since we travel all around the United States and Europe and have not had this type of experience which I had high hopes for..This was my home town, the weather was beautiful, our stay just did not match up and was ultimately, disappointing

Quiet, great location in Santa Cruz. Clean and neat hotel. But, not awesome for the high price. Better than Most motels in Santa Cruz (been there lots), but really the price value ratio is out of whack. But, that's not this hotels fault b/c it's a condition of the whole area (shortage of affordable nice places to stay) - so, this is definitely not a bottom rung hotel - I give it a slim 3 stars. Clean, neat, and quiet (at night). If you're just looking for that, this is a good place. Service/staff were awesome, btw.

A little run down but is in good location just a few miles from the beach.
