Beautiful view... Walking distance to pier and places to eat...

Check in was great. $20 to park your car daily is a bit much. No free coffee anywhere in lobby in the morning. Hotel rooms are outdated. Paid 175 more for a weekend per night. Ridiculous.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was great, the pool was really nice, and the room was comfortable. We had our bikes with us and went for some great bike rides in the mornings. The beach was across the street from the hotel, which was convenient. It was a little pricey, but we would stay there again, if we got a deal.

We went there for our niece's wedding ceremony. Really nice venue for that purpose provided you can afford it. The bride and groom paid for the whole thing. They had a wedding planner who did an excellent job. Beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour with open bar, and an excellent four-course reception dinner with filet mignon and salmon. We enjoyed the stay very much but probably will never go to such a high-end place again. The one-night's stay blew our hotel budget for the year, but if you can afford it we highly recommend staying at the Fess Parker. Of course, another reason for staying there is that Fess Parker was one of our favorite actors when we were teenagers and beyond, and so we wanted to see what kind of place he would put his name to. He certainly can be proud of this hotel. Being across the street from a very nice beach in Santa Barbara is a plus. Another thing we liked was the gated parking lot. Made us feel more secure.

Hotel staff is very professional and courteous. Hotel property is directly across the street from the beach, which makes for a nice view. However, the rooms are in need of a serious makeover! Clean but very dated decor. Bed felt out and uncomfortable. Couch was sunken in with worn out fabric. We stayed in a room on the first floor next to the pool, but it felt like you were in a dungeon! Very little light. Disappointing and probably wouldn't stay there again.

Excellent resort with perfect location close to downtown. Great service. Right across the beach. Breakfast was above average.

This location can't be beat! Views are gorgeous, you can walk to everything, rooms are spacious and grounds are well maintained. Food and drink are the biggest liability. Expensive watery cocktails and $25 for breakfast! Improve the food options and pricing and you're done!

The stay at this hotel was for business durning a convention. We were well accommodated, and enjoyed our stay and the surrounding area.

It looks like they are trying to run the hotel without any improvements or updates. The good: it is right across the street from the beach and the grounds are well kept. The bad: hallways are dirty and smell, there is NO security into the buildings (card readers are there but not operable -- anyone can come and go into the room buildings), and room was surface clean but deep down dirty (red stains on carpet in our room). Paid a premium for room and got something of a much lower quality.

The location cannot be argued with, the beach and wharf right across the street. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fresh smelling but the couch was a little sticky. Don't know if it was the material but I did not like sitting on it without a cover. We were disappointed to have to pay a daily charge for parking. For the price we paid we expected a refrigerator to be in the room at least. We were assigned a room for disabled which made it hard for my spouse to shower. If we stay there in the future I would specify exactly what we needed in the room for our comfort without being charged anything extra.

The best feature is its prime beach-front location and lush ground. Our large room facing the ground has lovely view, but amenities are outdated, and the carpet needs a thorough steam-clean. The pool is pleasant but seatings around were not adequate, favoring larger groups, crowding out smaller ones. Staff are courteous and diligent. However it's disappointing to have room-service breakfast delivered 40 minutes late and cold. Room service offerings are inadequate. Finally it's unacceptable when free wi-fi does not come with reservation.

the stay was nice and the hotel personnel were helpful. We asked for a quiet room and we got it. The breakfast food in the cafe was mediocre and surely breakfast is a meal Americans out to be able to knock out of the field. room had little things missing: globes on two of five lights over the sink. No snacks to buy and no price list for snacks and drinks in the room.

Came in for a Winter Session with school. My initial impression was that the hotel was beautiful, very fitting for Santa Barbara and not at a bad price. Once I checked into a suite I noticed that many of the fixtures and characteristics of the decor were a bit dated and in need of a makeover. Somethings like rust or aging doors and furniture all give the impression of quality. The bed and room were safe and comfy, no issues with room service. The staff were top notch, had a little attitude from the front desk upon arrival, but was ignored after meeting some very friendly staff later on. Will stay there again for sure.

It was a great venue for the wedding and nice sceneries! Our guests enjoyed it.

The view is amazing! My wife and I stayed in an Ocean View room, and we had an unobstructed view of the beautiful beach. However, for almost $400 a night, the bathroom was not appreciated. The tub was old, the shower tiles were old and cracking. There was no fridge or microwave in the room. And the parking!!! The parking costs us an additional $19 per day - if you're staying two or more nights, the parking should be complimentary - especially with the Ocean View Room Accommodations. Besides that, I have no other complaints. The staff was great and welcoming, etc. If the room and parking were different, this hotel would have received 5 Stars!

The grounds & location were very pretty. The room was nice & clean w/ plenty of room for 5 people. However, for the price, i was expecting something newer & nicer. The staff was very helpful & kind. The pool was a bit small & there was only one pool which was not enough to accomodate guests. We couldn't get chairs unless we went out at 9am to reserve them. Im surprised they didn't seat you like they do at the 4 seasons.

Accommodations and overall experience @ Fess Parker....Not great, Not Bad, OK.

The Fess Parker is in just the right location to enjoy the beauty of Santa Barbara. The service is great and their complementary cookies delicious. The room could have been a bit cleaner. When we checked in there were ants in the bathroom; however, they tended to the problem immediately!

I would expect that when you are paying over $400 a night for a hotel room that parking and WIFI be included. The pool area was lacking in sufficient lounges. At check in I made the comment that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and it was ignored. I was not looking for a freebee but would have been nice if the front desk at least acknowledged. All in all the room was not worth $450 a night.

Loved the ocean view room. Pricey but great location to walk to ocean and to the art fair on Sundays.

Warren - We are delighted to know you enjoyed the wedding at the resort and thank you for the wonderful review. June, July and August are high demand months at the resort and rates in Santa Barbara are higher that time of the year. We hope you will consider checking for promotions and special offers. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back to Santa Barbara and the resort. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments.
