Meadowlark Inn

It was convenient that our room contained two queen beds: it was perfect for our family of four. I also appreciated that our suite had an attached small kitchenette that had a stove, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and toaster. It's perfect for heating up food. A highlight was the daily breakfast. The frittatas they serve are delicious. On our first day, they even made these deep fried fritters that were fantastic. I forgot to ask what they're called and I had no idea they were home made until I poked my head into the kitchen and saw some bobbing in a saucepan of oil. I would stay here again.

Very clean, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Garden is immaculate. We will definitely come back.

Nice size bedroom for 3 family members which included two queen beds and one cot. Even had a small kitchen which we didn't need but will keep in mind for future visits. The breakfast was delicious and relaxing. Staff delightful. After the reception we returned to Meadowlark Inn and sat in the gazebo and enjoyed a bottle of wine that could be purchased in their office.

We have always liked the MeadowLark and have stay numerous times. We were very disappointed to find the thinnest thread towels I have ever seen. The sheets were of the same quality. The TV was small confusing and antiquated. Truth was that was not high on our list however because we did not come to this area to watch TV. The grounds are very nice and relaxing and we took advantage to sit outside and enjoy oak trees, flowers, and a nice gentle summer breeze. Great place to sit and read.

My daughter and I stayed at the Meadowlark for a brief visit, but I was so charmed that I am hoping to come back for a longer visit in the area and will definitely stay here. The room was clean and comfortable and has a full kitchen! The grounds are lovely, the homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious, as was the coffee and the staff was incredibly nice. To top it all off, I discovered that you can bring pets to some of the rooms!

It was a cute and clean cottage like room. The bed was comfortable and it was really quiet. A breakfast basket was delivered to my room because I could not make it to breakfast. It was a really nice touch. I would recommend it for people who want comfort and quiet at a fair price.

Wish we had more time. Nice and tidy. As I have Danish heritage it was very interesting to feel the Danish ambiance.

I really enjoyed this quaint inn...more like a bed and breakfast feel. The grounds are well kept and romantic. Wonderful complimentary breakfast too...just a few miles to downtown Solvang. :)

I could only describe this hotel as connected cottages with B & B feel to it as there was a full breakfast served every morning. Wonderful, freshly baked and prepared foods served in a very nice dining area. The room had a kitchen with all utensils, full refrigerator, sink, etc. The bath and bedroom were of very decent size and very clean. The hotel is only a short distance from town and a short, beautiful ride to a miniature horse farm and lavender farm. The proprieters of the hotel could not have been nicer. The grounds are beautiful with gardens and a gazebo and other sitting areas in the courtyard. Wonderful stay!!!

The staff was accommodating & friendly. The price was reasonable, the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely try to use again.

Very nice room, we found this place very pet friendly as long as you followed the rules. Very well kept grounds. Older property but well kept. Our unit had a small kitchen which was handy. The bed was excellant. The mile or so from Solvang and a mile or so from Santa Ynez was perfect, it was very quiet. A good value and we will use it again if we are back in that area.

My wife and I booked a room at this place 24h before leaving without expecting anything special but we discovered a lovely place! Our room was clean and had all the comfort you need for a few nights (great bed, TV, nice little bathroom and even a small fridge!). The two persons we talked to at the front desk were very welcoming and always ready to help us (they book restaurant for you, etc.). A great surprise!

The Meadowlark Inn is cute as a button. It's also very clean, comfortable and staffed with friendly folks. It's outdoor space more than makes up for the fact that you can't walk to the shops in Solvang. We especially enjoyed the fire pit. Breakfast on Sunday morning rocked. Along with an assortment of cereal, toast, pastries, fruit, waffles, yogurt and homemade granola, the owner made a super yummy frittata for each of her guests. I would recommend this place to anyone, but if you are looking for somewhere posh, then this place probably isn't for you.

Family of 4 stopped for one night wished it was for longer, peaceful and quiet , with great access to surrounding towns activities

Quite primitive. The A/C barely worked, the TV didn't work and the shower was "funky" plus the bed really squeeked . . . never again! Oh, and the breakfast was less than primitive! [...]

Although this facility is listed as a B&B I would describe it more as a motor lodge. The units are older but clean and maintained well. We were there midweek in Jan 2011 so it was very quiet and also off season. There is plenty to do in nearby Solvang. The hotel is about 2 miles East of the town so not walking distance and it is difficult to get out onto the road to make a left into town in the early evening. There is no traffic light, its quite dark, and the traffic on the main road is going 55mph so be careful if you are headed to Solvang in the evening this time of year for dinner. The hotel grounds are nice and the employees are very friendly and attentive. We had a leaky shower in our room. I mentioned this to the desk attendant and he readily moved us to a different room which was an upgrade from the room we had booked. Nice. When we booked the reservation the description said there are microwaves in the room. Not true. Only some have microwaves. They have a small pool but unheated so too cool to use in Jan and there is no outdoor spa but some rooms have jacuzzi tubs. Cold breakfast provided was enough to get us started in the morning. Instant oatmeal and toaster waffles if you want something hot. All in all a nice place to stay for the price...similar to an express chain hotel in accommodations.

This hotel is small, quaint, quiet and the staff is very personable, possibly family owned. It is about 1.5 miles from downtown Solvang so close enough to go back & forth easily. We had a kitchenette which was perfect for heating up leftovers when we didn't feel like going out again. It is one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel (I am very picky) and plan on going back soon.

Not only were the accommodations great, but there was a wonderful outdoor area to be enjoyed. Very close to shops and eateries. Will plan on returning.
