The situation was exceptionally beautiful within the Edwin Lutyens gardens and fascinating town of Sandwich. The standard of cleanliness overall was perfect. However, although our room and bathroom were spacious, sparkling clean and overlooked the gardens, there was a dire lack of surfaces on which to actually put anything! Lovely to have face flannels, robes, slippers and water every day, but no fresh milk without continual request, no biscuits and no fruit. Lovely selection of teas though. Lovely bed and cushions but a sheet and blanket would have been appreciated instead of the heavy quilt - one shouldn't have to ask for these things. The staff were so helpful, but we felt quite a few were inexperienced and just lacked that "know-how" .

Overall Nice
Lovely garden, positive checkin experience, updated bath. Bed had footboard which made it uncomfortable for my tall self, and the mattress expressed every spring, a topper would have made all the difference.
