Room Mate Gorka are aware of my concerns. Where do I start. The lack of staff on the reception desk for check in. The lack of an email contact before arriving meaning that I could not benefit from the reduced parking rate. The room with a very small window hatch six feet off the ground that you have to stand on a chair to open. The air conditioning that is controlled by reception..a recurring feature that is reflected in the disabled TV remote that does not allow you to change language options and limits volume to inaudable level. At least I can now say I have watched The Hobbit in German. How about the lobby bar that isn't the lobby bar. The one area not controlled by reception. On arriving back at 11pm the bar staff said the bar was closed, it has a separate entrance, on entering the hotel the desk staff said no problem we could order a drink for the room and led us through the adjoining door, the bar staff again said closed adding "he doesn't know, he doesn't control us". Back out on the street then back in the other door and met with a shrug by the same hotel staff member. All in all, all front with no substance. We were offered overnight a free breakfast but that seemed to be aimed at not getting a bad review. You can't fix everything after the fact just get it right from the start, trust your guests and don't control them whilst delivering very little. More of a landlord than a room mate. Forgot about the shower that blasted horizontally when not hitting your face!
