Terrible! Host did NOT communicate

I rented this VRBO three months in advance of my stay, I texted multiple times that there would be four people staying, when we got there, there was one towel, no hand towel and no wash clothes, I asked three times for towels, and never received them. (3 hours) We turned on the oven, the pilot light was out, and the place filled with gas, and we could not air it out because there was not a working fan in the apartment. The only way I was able to get in contact with the VRBO host was by calling the VRBO customer service line, and then they had to contact him, and then he contacted me. And by this time I had already left because it was super dangerous to be in the apartment with the gas smell. So, I ended up having to get a hotel room for me and my friends because it was too dangerous to stay at this apartment. I would not stay in this location, it was not worth it. One of the things that’s important with staying someplace is a host that will respond, when you are on vacation and relying on things to be as you want them, when reserving a place, three months in advance… I was very disappointed.

Good value and accepts pets

This is a nice basic accommodation, well located, and accepts pets. The host was very slow to respond to messages sent through the VRBO app, however he was very easy to communicate with using the phone number he supplied. The property is located across from a large park that was great for a morning run and to walk the dogs. It took us about an hour to walk to the historical center of SLP. The property is very secure and there are a couple of locked doors/gates which must remain locked all the time. It’s a little inconvenient, but the extra security is good. One thing we found out is that the parking space in the secure area is narrow. We were driving a Honda Odyssey minivan and we could barely fit in the space. We could not open the rear passenger doors at all once pulled into the space, and only the driver’s side door could open. We managed to get all four of us out the car by pulling forward onto the sidewalk. Getting our luggage out of the car was a bit of a challenge though as we had backed into the space. We discovered that the key that opened the gate in front of our parking spot also opened the gate of the adjacent parking space. This made loading the van back up to leave much easier.
