This was a pretty nice place to stay. Check-in was smooth, and Cindy, the front desk clerk, was very sweet and helpful. Her manager happened to come out front to do some other things, and gave us a free room upgrade out of the blue. They even let us check in half an hour early without charging us a fee. We had just been on a four-hour drive, so the mint-infused water at the front desk was very refreshing. Once we figured out how to work the cooler in our room, it was very comfortable. The beds and pillows were heavenly. I loved that after three other people had showered, there was still enough hot water for my entire shower. The water pressure was ample, and I loved that I could change the settings on the shower head to my preference. However, there was no screen on the bathroom window, and a wasp ended up flying in while I was using the bathroom. That was scary. This place had pretty strong Wi-Fi. The complimentary breakfast was a little disappointing. It consisted of a boiled egg, a cup of Greek yogurt, and a small, bitter apple. The egg was boiled perfectly, and for the most part, the breakfast was good and held me over for a couple hours. I did notice that it was a little dusty under the bed, and the shower rod needed some polishing, but all in all, the room was pretty clean. Alura Inn was affordable, and I definitely got my money's worth, if not more. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was a welcome delight. It is a well-managed, inexpensive, non-smoking gem of a place mostly hidden from the busy street. My room even had a 2-burner electric stove and refrigerator. The free breakfast was a carefully-packed boxed affair, with Greek yogurt, apple, donut holes and a boiled egg, all I needed really. Free coffee at the registration desk. I walked to this place through numerous neighborhoods and did not expect to find such a nice place mixed in with so many businesses in a somewhat industrial area. The room had some special touches, mine had a minimalist rendering of a movie star on the wall, and a really cute matching pillow cushion on the bed. It was safe, clean, quiet, had a guest laundry, really all that a weary traveller needed.

Don't be fooled by the conventional exterior of this property. Although it may appear as an older motor hotel on the outside, my room was a chic designer's palette: spacious, clean, arty, with a large portrait of Aubrey Hepburn and matching pillow. A nice kitchenette, a friendly staff make this an excellent choice for the artsy traveler who doesn't want to waste money on overpriced downtown SJ hotels (and it's a short Uber ride from the airport). Recommended.

The room smelled like cigarettes, homeless man in garbage, druggie looking through cars, room was disgusting and falling apart, beds were nasty, floor was torn,ax was blasting full heat when we arrived so the room was 109 degrees,it rattled all night and was falling off the wall, bathroom had cobwebs and spiders. Orbitz needs to remove this hotel from the list. Don't be fooled by the photos as they are lies. I also put a negative review on yelp. Manager never called about my complaints.

My friends and I selected this hotel because we thought it was going to be inexpensive-- and it was until they charged an extra $100 split between two separate cards. I've tried to call several times since I checked out at the end of January, yet the staff has managed to keep me on the phone excessively and then claim to call me back after looking into it... and then weeks pass with no attempt of contact except me trying again. I was robbed $50 of a fee they cant even locate the origination from and $50 from a hotel cleaning fee because of extra garbage. They gave us no housekeeping service during the stay (the manager mentioned it was a daily complimentary service) and we had no damages or hazardous waste in the room. The fees are just plain dishonest.

Good choice if you are just looking for something close to the airport. The hotel itself was okay, but the location was not very nice and the parking was a bit hectic.

When you go to the hotel it's not in the best looking part of town, and from the outside it looks like a dump, but in reality it is very nice in the room. The room had hardwood floors, big flat screen, and a comfortable bed. If you can get past the outside, then you will enjoy this hotel

Good cleanliness. Just don't book it through Orbitz Orbitz takes a long time to process the order

Quaint little place for a short stay. Our room was very large. One draw back was one of the beds needs a new mattress.

The room was clean and well appointed, having all of the amenities of a large hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was very pleased and will most certainly return.

Hot water took awhile to get hot, springs mattress not so comfy. Affordable stay, second thoughts if ever coming back....

When ariving the hotel had some shady people. When booking I had been told I would have a room on the 2nd floor. Once checked in I was informd there were no more rooms upstairs. At night the guests above were so loud, they were stomping their feet, talking loudly, you could hear everything. Not to mention I found a finger nail in my bedding. I was not happy with my stay and will not be returning.

This hotel experience was absolutely horrible and we do not recommend anyone stay here even our worst enemies. We arrived to the hotel and all seemed well at first. The location was in a decent area and it seemed quaint. We went to the office to check in, and the young man behind the counter didn't even greet us or acknowledge our existence. It appeared that we were inconveniencing him by our arrival. He was unenthusiastic and not helpful in answering the questions we had. He was a poor representation of the hotel. We entered our room to find that it has hardwood floors, which wasn't bad; just different. The concerning parts of the room that we instantly noticed were the windows, the security, and the conditions of the room. There weren't blinds in front of the curtains so we weren't fully covered from public view. When we were walking to and from our room we could see into other guest's room and unwillingly saw things that people would have wanted private. We saw that the security chain from our door had been ripped off the wall and hadn't been replaced. Our TV was stuck on CNN channel and it couldn't be changed despite our many efforts including Googling on how to work the controls since the young man from the front desk wasn't any help. The worse part was the bed. It felt like we were sleeping on a King size slab of concrete. We had the worst sleep of our lives and my husband can sleep any where as he is a combat veteran, so that says something. Please do not stay here!

The place is old and ghetto. The Main door lock had to be Jimmied with my CAR key to get it to lock properly and when I was leaving for dinner my girlfriend, opened the door with the safety chain still attached, and it was pulled off the wall and fell on the floor! She wasn't trying to break the dammmm thing she didn't notice it was chained. The beds were okay and only had minor indention marks. The bathtub was old and covered in scratches with permanent dirt marks in it. There was a mountain of dirt, on the floor, at the head of both beds from never being cleaned, along with old lotion bottles from previous renters. If I could go back in time I would have paid the extra forty bucks and stayed at the Merittott or some other hotel that was cleaner. I would never go back to this place and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone but my enemies.

somewhat old but inexpensive and not bad. don't expect too much.

Basic room not to many channels on tv parking lot gets full so you might have to walk to your room from far away

it was nice got what i needed breakfast was weak, but better than nothing

Awesome................ Loved it.............................

Policy for crdit card to b used only for cleaning deposit, ect is unfair. Reserved and paid for room weeks in advance. Only to find out i couldnt stay due to me not having credit card. For a freaking $50 deposit. Ur facility doesnt take cash. Wth!! I even offered to hold $100 cash. Had to cancel stay ask for refund that they graciasly approved. Which was said i was lucky cuz its up to managers. So i was inconvenienced and had to look other accommodation. Unless policy changes to help those who dont have credit cards i will not recommend ur facolity. General manager was grt help and over all tried to confort us as best she could. Thsnk u.

It was good. i liked it alot. the hotel staff and the room services people are so nice.
