The breakfast was wonderful, and the location in downtown Half Moon Bay is very convenient.
The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast is prepared by hand by the staff, and is amazing. The staff is always there to offer a hand or suggest local outings. Parking is easy in their own lot and since the property is right on the Main Street in HMB, it’s a lovely walk to shops and restaurants.
Why call yourself a bed and breakfast if you don’t offer any breakfast!! They said breakfast would be served from 8-10am but it never was. Many guests were left scratching their heads as to what happened. No note was left, the front desk was vacant. Then around 8:50am breakfast was served and their excuse was that the guests should have waited around til then. There was no customer service to even repay guests who went out to buy their own breakfast. Disappointing to say the least.
Breakfast was fabulous! The bed was comfortable! The house is unique and charming. The price is right. We booked another stay at this gem of a place!
This is the oldest building in Half Moon Bay, built by the son-in-law for the recipient of the original Spanish land grant. The house is in good shape but is showing its age. The hotel originally did not want to honor our reservation since we brought our dog - to this pet-friendly accommodation - and wanted to uncharge us for a more expensive pet-friendly room. They did eventually upgrade us at no cost to a much nicer room, so it worked out in the end.
Great location, but noisy at night and early am. Plumbing is in disrepair, faucets and shower do not function properly, Breakfast was pleasant, but no amenities available,,,ice, fans, tv etc,,, roughing it!
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice. The location was right in downtown Half Moon Bay, so it was very convenient. The property was a little hard to spot, and it could have used more signs letting us know where to park.
Full breakfast. No TV. Hand shower only. Fire place in room.
Place it's great, clean comfortable and within walking distance to shop, restaurants, etc. Staff is very friendly. The only inconvenience was the room gets too hot and the small ceiling fan doesn't cool off the room. We had to sleep with the window open to keep room clean. I was here with my 12 year old daughter and she loved the place (except for the heat in the room). This is definitely the place where I will be staying in the future.
They were really nice to accommodate my 2 dogs. Actually the town is dog friendly except for state beaches-no dogs allowed even on leases. Good experience.
Nice joint! Super big room
Room very spartan , did not have a closet , neither any hangers . NonTV in the room ( not the biggest nono) , not very clean . Bathroom no shower but a large yacuzzi tub which was connected with a cable to an outlet ... just not right.
This is a Bed & Breakfast, that “forgot” they would be completely under renovations during the week we arrived, although we made the reservation the same day as arrival. They offered a $20 refund due to their facility being almost (all but our room) completely under construction but that was only after my insistance that they do something. Our room was nice but lacked the comforts of an iron, soap, shampoos, sugar & cream for coffee. The decor is early 1990’s at best as was the 20” TV that barely worked! This was not a 3 star accommodation & after driving 45 minutes from SFO, a full refund is our request.
