Super 8 Union Square San Francisco

This is an older hotel but good location and price. The fast and free Internet service really saved me. The beds were firm and comfortable, bathroom was larger, and rooms were clean. Breakfast was limited but adequate (yogurt, instant oat meal, toaster waffles, drinks). The rooms did not contain an iron or ironing board but the front desk was able to locate one upon request. The carpeting is dated; halls and elevator are narrow. This hotel was significantly cheaper than the better hotels in the Union Square area and a very good value in that context. No parking, but easy to get around from.

Not bad. It was nice. Good area. Walking distance to everything.

it s a budget hotel with nice stuff. Rooms need to be updated though. The shower didn't work properly and needs to be fixed. But overall it is what to be expected from a 2 star hotel.

I chose the super 8 cause it has free breakfast reasonable prices and is in walking distance of AT&T park. But you really do get what you pay for.The hotel is located in union square which is the ghetto of san Francisco. After dark every street back to the hotel is lined with homeless begging for money.I was just happy to make it back to the hotel without being mugged. The hotel itself is decent and the staff are very nice. The only problem with the hotel is the smell,as soon as you walk in the front doors the smell hits you.

It's not the ritz but it also doesn't cost as much !!! Seriously, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was more than helpful.

Clean safe and reasonably priced within easy walking distance of downtown and the convention center

This hotel was definitely worth it for the money because SF can get a little expensive at times. The rooms are clean.

Great location with easy access to a lot of touristy attractions such as pier 39, union square, fillmore district etc. Room itself was small with some very basic amenities

The first thing we noticed was the windows in the halls were open, so the hallways were freezing. Room started out pretty cold, too, but heat worked OK. I'm pretty sure our room used to be a broom closet or something. The double bed barely fit. The bed was not especially comfortable. The cable package on TV was very limited. The bathroom was bigger than the room itself, and seems to have been the utility part of the broom closet. The shower was not separated out from the sink or toilet (it was just a shower head, shower seat, and curtain with no tub enclosure), so the water from the shower got the entire bathroom floor wet, making it slippery and probably dangerous. TV was not on in the breakfast room in the morning, making it pretty somber in addition to tiny. Front desk guy was nice and helpful. If I'd been traveling alone, I think I would have survived much better, but my wife was pretty traumatized overall. For the price in San Francisco, I'm sure you're not going to do much better. In all, I'm glad we saved the money, but would advise you that if you are not traveling alone, spring for better digs if you have the means.

great location in downtown the staff watched our bags on the last day after checkout so we were able to walk around SF for one more day

its a good location. 2 blocks from cable car. But it is on the edge of a "shady" area. It's great if you're just looking for a place to sleep while in town.

Considering how much you pay it is a good value. Downtown location, just a couple minutes walk to union square, Powell street, market street and so on.

When I'm on a business trip and spending the majority of my day in conference rooms, I don't need much in the way of hotel amenities. The Super 8 was inexpensive, my room was clean, and my shower was hot. I also enjoyed the continental breakfast - juice, bagels, cereal, coffee - what more do you need?

The front desk staff were not friendly. The TV was not working in my room. Brought this to the front desk's attention but they did not send someone to take a look at it until the second day of my stay. There is a big hole on my duvet cover. I can hear noise from the street.

The hotel was so disgusting that we checked out and went to the Hilton on the next block. Very small room with a dirty bathroom.

Me and my boyfriend walked around union square in San Francisco, which was only 2 blocks away. The hotel was in a really good location for the price. The room was small and the bathroom was even smaller but for just two people it works. It has cable and satellite and a well lit room. It was some what clean, the bathroom could have used some more cleaning but the decor was nice. I think it is reasonable for the price we paid.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference that was at the Hilton at the next block over. I went to the conference for a couple days and went sightseeing a couple other days. If sightseeing and doing other things is on your agenda, you don't need something fancy. I had a single room that had a good sized bathroom. The bed was comfy and the front desk service was good. This is in an ideal location.

Good price for location to convention center. Easy walk with luggage to BART Powell station.

The Union Square area has good shopping and eating areas within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, but this does not make up for several deficiencies. The satellite TV hardly works. There was a wet spot on the suite love seat. Outside noise and squeaky floors in the room were annoying. There were a few carpet stains. The continental breakfast located on the sixth floor was edible, but nothing to be excited about. If you are on a limited budget, do not mind the lack of amenities and mentioned deficiencies, and want to be in the Union Square area, then this hotel is an option. However, if you are willing to pay a bit more, then there are better hotel options in the area.

Great location. so close to union square shopping center. Room was recently updated, small but ok for two people considering how the building was builted. The bed was great, soft and cozy compare close to 3 stars hotel bed. Good for budget price hotel.
