Serrano Hotel

Recent guest reviews

I could write an entire review on the staff alone. Kathryn and Betty went above and beyond to accommodate me and ensure my comfort, and I am grateful to them both. The room was very tidy and comfortable, everyone was extremely attentive, and checking in/out was a breeze.

Easy to get anywhere you needed to go throughout the city

Nicel hotel, older but well maintained and updated. It was a bit farther from the financial district where I work, than equally nice, less expensive hotels. It is good for tourists going to theater shows or doing the Union Square shopping thing, but not particularly business friendly. They assess a $26 "Urban Fee" (plus tax) for WiFi access, exercise room access and coffee - all amenities that are complimentary at many other hotels in the area. I primarily travel for business, so I probably would not stay there again.

The hotel was very average and was rated too high on line. The location is on the edge of the Trnderloin area which was very trashy and smelly. The rate was not as much of a bargain since the Hotel informs you of the "accommodation fee" upon arrival which adds another $27.00 a day plus tax to the daily charge. Not the deal promised. We will not stay here again.

Last minute trip to thr city. Great price for the location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is near good eats and drinks.

A nice hotel at a decent price relative to the location and other hotels around it. Not a luxury place but very clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay again. Don't get the valet parking, that's too expensive. Park in one of the garages nearby, like the one on Mason and Post. You can find them on spot hero. Will cost you under $ 30 vs. 50 + at the hotel.

I really enjoy this hotel and San Francisco. Excellent time! I can't wait to go back!!! Thanks for everything!!!

Accommodating and clean. Overall a very good experience.

Old and not clean enough for a 3 stars , photos looks good but is not inside is like a antique store . Not impressed

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean as well. We felt safe walking the streets to the shops and restaurants during the day but at night there were homeless people in the area and it felt unsafe. My daughter and I were happy with the location with the exception of walking back from the restaurants at night.

Once there we got "upgraded" to a "suit", which had 3 main features: a view into one meter far away wall of the neighbor building, handrails in the bath, which made us feel 90 years old, and the "aroma" of used baby diapers in the whole room. We asked to change the room, but they refused, so we left next day. Ah, and don't forget their restaurant, we went there for breakfast and my stomach regrets it even today, 5 days later. It was dirty, the stuff unfriendly and food terrible. DONT GO THERE

A nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Easy walk to Union Square, Chinatown, or Borth Beach.

discounted price for a reason. Bsd neighborhood. Homeless people getting high right across the street. We left immediately because we felt unsafe. Didn't even make it to the rooms.

Nice hotel for the price. Basic, but clean with a friendly staff. Central location. Easy street parking(during the day).

Parking was very expensive at the hotel so it was a hassle parking around that area.

Staff was great. Rooms were dirty and we checked out early and stayed at a different property. They would not refund. The bed skirt was covered in black soot and there were what looked like body fluid stains on the sofa.

Nice and convenient place to stay in SFO at a reasonable price

Good. We love it, nice location room little bit tight and needs be remodeld

Gorgeous view of the bay when you walk out the back door! Great location to walk to any of the piers. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Coffee in the lobby. Decor was cute.

Great, historic charm. Nice staff and friendly help when needed.

Hello Chris, We're sorry our location wasn't a better fit for your business in the city. For future reference, we offer town car service to the financial district Monday – Friday from 7am-9am because we strive to be the perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers. We're taking your feedback about our price point into careful consideration. While fees are often an industry standard, we truly apologize if you were unaware of ours before your stay. Booking sites charge customers for general taxes and fees associated with reserving a hotel room. What's not included are specific costs or fees for our hotel. We're very sorry for any disappointment this caused because we strive to offer our guests many reasons to come again. Our welcome mat is always out the next time business sends you to the city.

Hello Lärs, At Serrano, we strive to be at a comfortable price point for all of our guests. We understand that when you've waited so long for a getaway, it's important to leave room in the budget for enjoying the city, and we appreciate you sharing your concern about the Urban Fee. While fees are often an industry standard, we truly apologize if you were unaware of it before your stay. For future reference, this fee covers many great benefits. While you’re here, enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, 24-hour fitness center, use of the Serrano bicycles, access to our dry sauna, daily newspaper, town car service to the financial district and more! Freshly brewed coffee and tea are ready for you each morning from 5:30-10am. The Urban Fee also includes $5 coupon per stay at Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen. As part of the Urban Fee, you will receive extra 250 STASH points per stay. We truly apologize your stay fell short of your expectations because we're committed to exceeding them. If there is anything more we can do to help, please reach out personally. Our team is always here to help, and we'd love to welcome you back.

We're truly sorry to see your stay wasn't 'picture perfect.' When guests walk through our doors, we want them to find Serrano even better than they expected. Please know we are sharing your feedback with our team and would welcome you to reach out personally if there is anything we can do to make a much better second impression!
