Beds could be upgraded. Staff friendly. Breakfast ok.

Broken elevator, small cheap looking rooms. Remodeled exterior but not interiors. Way too much money for what you get.

Room was ok, recently renovated but was not dusted by maid. Dust bunnies on laminate flooring. Parking was very tight, obviously space is a premium in Bay Area. Overall not a bad place but I did not care for the doors open to parking lot and I could hear everything going on as cars parked about 3-4 feet from motel room door.

Nothing special. Nothing bad. Won't be disappointed if you are expecting a decent motel.

The reviews made us hesitate a little but what we found was a charming place, inside and out. Wooden floors, clean room and bathroom and comfortable bed, complimented by decent breakfast. We'd definitely come back if the price is right. Thanks for the great service!

The Directions from the Airport were confusing. Gotme lost. Called hotel and the person that answered was very rude his tone of voice. Also he couldn't accurately tell me how to get to Hotel. This was bad. Got there finally and he was still rude in tone. So I believe this made the experience even worse. Room was ok but it would of been nice not to get lost . Needed a hotel closer for same price.

It was ok...the room was very small. The room was very worn, the water pressure was horrendous, and because it is on El Camino Real, the traffic is going by all night. Aside from that, the bed was comfortable. Would I return...no.

Rooms were nice, clean with cute decor. The staff was friendly. The pool itself was not well kept at the time, but the pool area was relaxing with a chill california atmosphere, comfy seating and hip lounge music playing. We were in close proximity to the events center, a 10 minute walk. There were many shops and restaurants also within walking distance. It wasn't luxery but fit exactly what we needed. We were pleased with our stay.

The HoJo in San Mateo is located close enough San Francisco and San Francisco Intl airport (SFO) to make this motel a convenient, low cost alternative to the very pricey hotels/motels in the city. Having said that, the room one gets is rather small, even by motel standards. The Wi-Fi was good, but there is little else in amenities. The mattress on the queen sized bed was cheap and the rest of the best average at best. There is no tub in the room but there is a good stall shower. Hot water was available in abundance. This is a good place if you are visiting SF and need a place that isn't expensive.

The hotel is clean. Staff are friendly. Nice place to stay for reasonable price.

If, like me, you need a budget place to stay while visiting family in San Mateo, this is a good bet. I didn't have a car, so I walked everywhere. Found a cute diner, the Patio Coffee Shop on W. 25th Avenue in a shopping area called The Village. At the motel, the front desk staff were very helpful. The bed linens and towels were crisp and clean everyday. The room was comfortable and clean, with new furniture. I didn't hear traffic noise while in the room, even though the motel is on El Camino Real, which is very busy. I definitely would stay here again.

All the surrounding hotels were sold out. Scored with this one!

Very handy for the San Mateo Event Center . Beds are very comfortable .

I enjoyed my stay at HoJo, very clean an nice place. Good price too.

Third time we have stayed at this Howard Johnson and it has always been good . Even though it is near a major and busy road it is very quite . Beds are very nice . I have recommened this to other people attending the robotic events .

Sink was loose on wall, drainpipe at attachment to sink had been caulked back on. Tiny room but it was one of the handicap access rooms. Coffe was provided but no coffee maker. Stayed on Monday but canceled plans to return on the weekend. Found MUCH nicer place for $20 more per night.

We visited this hotel while we visited our relative. It is a good location and value. But room has very bad smoke smell and they tried tocover it by blow very strong and bad smell air fresher.

Hotel provided free parking and clean room. Convenient to airport and not far from San Fran. Nice continental breakfast provided. Only complaint was non-fitted sheets on bed that kept sliding.

GREAT HOTEL FOR ANY OCCASION. WOULD RECCOMND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.
