My wife was sold on the pictures and star rating alone. We were happy with the price as it was discounted. PROS: Friendly Front Desk Staff Chocolate Chip Cookie and Water at Check-In Easy to Park and get to your hotel room Free Coffee and Newspaper in the Lobby in the mornings Clean quiet pool Free Badminton Freeway Close CONS: Ice Machine Hard to Find Elevator OUT OF ORDER Ants on our patio Very SLOW housekeeping staff $9.95 Self Parking Fee per night Would I come back to this hotel? YES if the price was cheaper than what I paid. Would I recommend this hotel? YES

The hotel looks great, also the front desk is very responsive and professional. The ammenities are also on point. The only thing that I did not like about this hotel is that there is a big mosquito problem. Right outside my hotel door, there were swarms of mosquitoes and some even found their way into my room.

The staff was super friendly and fast. The room was clean and spacious. The bed and bedding was so comfortable that I was able to easily sleep in. The rooms all have a small veranda over looking the property which is really nice. The area is quiet and relaxing. There is also a nice hotel bar and restaurant. Not far from freeway entrance so it's quiet and private yet super convenient. Will definitely stay here again.

From the day we walked in to the minute we checked out our stay was flawless. Staff, room condition, bed comfort, bathroom, restaurant, TV, internet, it was all worth the stay. Overall an excellent stay. flawless. This would be my very first rate. credit needs to be given when its due.

I cannot say enough great things about the staff at this hotel. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spacious and modern. When i brought a matter up to the attention to the manager, he immediately took action and exceeded my expectations. Convenient parking, a fitness room, nice hotel bar and restaurant located in separate building next to main lobby. There is a gas station and convenience store located right down the street. Easy access to freeway. The fact that they still give cookies upon check in is just a sweet bonus.

Very clean spacious room. It was close to the freeway making the commute easier.

Great atmosphere! Well taken care of hotel and a comfortable stay

We use this hotel for the Waterpolo tournaments. Great place, but I noticed the golf course is now gone. Not sure what happened to it? Overall this is a good place though.

Room was very large and comfy. Only wish it had a refrig & safe. Otherwise it was great

The staff was friendly and the rooms comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for a quick stay. There is also a golf course for those who are so inclined. Most enjoyable are their signature chocolate chip cookies that are always delicious and served warm to patrons upon arrival.

We had a great time the temp. was 80 you can't beat that . The hotel room was great the only problem is this is a golf resort and they don't have the golf channel? The staff was real helpful the bar is real nice the food was good too the bartender JT was real nice to all the guests we will be back.

Very roomy and lovely views from terrace. Close to family

Room was fine staff was good, but my hotel confirmation said two queen beds, but the room I was given had one king. When I went back to the desk I was told there were no rooms with queens available and could get a rollaway bed, and twenty five minutes later I did. The most uncomfortable bed made. I was switched to the proper room for Sat.night. All in all pretty nice hotel, didn't spend a lot of time there.

When I arrived to the hotel I was 4 days post - op and leaving for home the next day. I was released earlier than expected and therefor arrived way before check-in and in desperate need of a bed. Jesus Lopez (manager), the young man that assisted me, quickly found me a room on the bottom floor and didn't give me any problems about my early arrival. I also needed a refrigerator and microwave for my medications. In less than an hour there was a knock at door and both items were delivered. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We booked a partial golf course view. There was a very large tree right in front of the balcony & window. I called the front desk and the clerk stated the tree hadn't been trimmed in a few months but we where in a partial view room. Make no mistake even with trimming there was no way you could see even a small glimpse of the golf course. This room hasn't seen the golf course in years! Very disappointing since this was the three year in a row we have stayed there and we are hilton honors members.

The location is about 20 min from downtown san Diego. On the other hand, there is a golf course on site! There is also a good short game practice facility, perfect for sand play, chipping and putting. The rooms are large, clean and with great balconies overlooking gardens. You can eat lunch or a simple but very good dinner on a deck overlooking part of the golf course! It is definitely quiet and away from the crowds of downtown. In terms of the rooms, the amenities, the staff, it is a fantastic value. This was the third time we have stayed there and loved it every time. It is on a par with places costing 2 to 3 times as much!

friendly staff, quick check in, nice clean room and grounds, quiet, great experience for a North San Diego location.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. I was disappointed that a suburban hotel would charge for parking. I requested a microwave which was also charged to my room.

Doubletree was like the Doublemint of hotels, satisfactions that lasts and lasts. The location was north of downtown, less busy, and a golf resort. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the concierge and given two warmed, tasty, chocolate chip cookies. The room was spacious. Great to relax in, beyond simply using it for sleep. Electrical outlets abounded if you should need to charge anything. Access to beaches both near the city and north were within a 25-minute drive. Your schedule will not run dry with the amount of recreational activities. Beautiful Coronado island, where "Some Like it Hot" was filmed, can be accessed via driving over a massive bridge, or ferry. The only factor that would have improved the 4-star rating to five would have been having a continental breakfast included, and if it was a shade closer to downtown. If you want something in-house from the hotel as far as food or room service, you'll pay. But, this is quite a similar trait for hotel room service across the board. And, if a few extra miles won't deter you from nice everything else, this is the place for you! Very friendly, helpful staff.

Front desk service was excellent upon check-in, however, towards the end of our stay, when we discovered that there were problems with the internet connection in their internet lounge, the front desk person was unable to troubleshoot and did nothing to try to fix the problem. Rooms were clean, and comfortable. Nothing pretty to look at, aesthetically speaking, VERY plain. One giant painting in the entire room, almost made us feel like they were half way through decorating the room. Old fixtures, with some corrosion. Although there were no real problems with our stay, I must admit I was expecting something a little more spectacular, since we were staying at a resort. Okay recommendation.
