Short walk to the Coast line in Carlsbad.
They "made a mistake an gave-away" our room, even though we had advance reservations; offered a refund at 10pm on a holiday weekend so we could go hotel hunting at that time!! gave us a smaller room, 1 bed instead of 2, the a/c did not work and forget the extra pillow requested in advance! What happened to including shampoo and conditioner?
Great, except our room was adjacent to the laundry and we could hear the machines.
This hotel is a motel 6. Idk why they changed the name change didn’t make it better. The hotel could be really nice if it were managed better. The hotel is disgusting. There were random people coming in and out of the hotel. Anyone could walk in through the gates by the pool. These gates also happen to be in the same side as the main street. The staff was super unfriendly and never greeted us as we were coming or going. it also reeked of weed so they were not enforcing the no smoking policy.
Room darkening curtains had a 12 inch rip on top. Couch was so filthy. Cleanliness was so so some things ok some not. Employees were nice. But at least at front desk they should have uniforms on. Lights in some areas could be brighter
The police were here once. Random people were here not who should be. Creepy people.. Most of the front desk staff were not very friendly. When I checked in there were no work controls for the ac in the room they gave me. So I had to get a different room. The show fills either tub while you are showering and all most overflows.
Would never stay here again. There was blood on the curtain in my room. Stain on the sheets. Stickers on the light fixtures. Stay away,

Website does not mention any of the hotel updates due to COVID. 2 of the controls were missing batteries, but reception didn’t have any extras sos they said to use the one working control as it was a universal control. The pull out sofa bed didn’t have linens and no extra linens were in closet. The wall thermostat and wall unit did not allow for room temperature to be changed nor to be turned off. At night a large group was smoking in the parking lot and felt unsafe while going in and out of hotel. Pool towels were really small. Jacuzzi wasn’t working. No blow dryer in room.
The dirtiest, most disgusting hotel I've ever gone to.
To be honest there wasn’t much to like. We arrived at check in time and were told our room wasn’t ready and to come back in an hour. When we returned, they told us the room we reserved was no longer available and they would have to put us in a smaller room. They only deducted $10. When we entered the room, we saw that the room was not cleaned ( there were false eyelashes and debris on the counter) and the bathtub appeared to have something brown smeared in it. We attempted to call down to the front desk but the room phone was not attached or plugged in. It was not functioning. We called the front desk using our cell phone to report the dirty bathtub/room and were told they would send someone up. We waited over an hour and no one came. They came hours later. Very disappointing experience.
Hotel was nice for the price (half the cost of any other place in Carlsbad) but was incomplete bc it looks like my room was missing towels and coat hangers. I did like having a full sized fridge and being close to my car. Checkin time is early at 2:30 so that was nice
Nice property! Room has everything you need. Front desk staff wasn't pleasant at all.
Pros: Convenient location to Legoland and beach. Not expensive. People at front desk were nice. Cons: dirty floors, bathroom in disrepair, no maid service.
Liked, however the pool was dirty and cold. No food or coffee available which was a disappointment. Front desk was nice however one employee did not smile or greet guests. Will book king suite again for multiple days.
1st room we went in smelled super strong of cigarettes. Had to switch rooms. 2nd room toliet ran. Shower door would not stay closed. Hallway smelled like dirty vacuum and absolutely no reason why the pool and hot tub should still be closed especially when most the staff and guests don't wear masks or social distance
Interior needed update..carpet and hallways smelled..understaffed...room still had dishwasher running..No TV Remote..No Hair Blow Dryer..No Kleenex.. Dusty...when front desk called told their rooms were full and to come down for items, no staff to deliver. The girl attitude at front desk appeared she did not wanna be there
Check in was easy and the staff was nice. The pool was closed, but we understood the reason.
