Friendly staff. Positive..............................................................................................................................................................................

This hotel / resort sits between Oceanside Pier / Beach and the train tracks. The rooms each have a sound machine that you can play to drown out the train's whistle and also offers ear plugs. The ear plugs are a must! You can still hear the train with only the sound machine on. The rooms were nice and clean. A lot of wasted space. The water pressure was horrible. I couldn't tell when I got the shampoo out of my hair. Not sure if it was just the water pressure of "soft" water. The grounds were nice. Very clean. There were always cleaning staff working picking up things from the grounds, cleaning the windows, and wiping down surfaces. They really tried to get me to listen to the sales pitch to buy a vacation package. We didn't have to be too forceful to let them know we were not interested. The hotel is in walking distance of many restaurants and bars. It's also only a couple of blocks from the house from Top Gun where Kelly McGillis and Tom Cruise had dinner. That was pretty cool.

We stayed here for a week and would do it again next time we come back. It was clean, had great views, extremely convenient to the beach and local restaurants and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were a little wary of staying here because of the reviews we saw about the train noise. We definitely heard the train a few times during the day we stayed in our room but it wasn't a distraction to our vacation. We didn't hear it at night (they do offer ear plugs upon check in if you're worried). Staying here made our whole vacation memorable and worth it!

The staff were very friendly. They pointed out things to do in the area as well as restaurants that were within walking distance or that delivered. We stayed in a normal, 1 king bed room verses a condo. Only down side is that there isn't a microwave. The hotel Is near the train tracks so keep this in mind!!

I don't know why the ratings are not higher. It's a great place to stay and close to San Diego but you still get away from the noise of the city. It's worth the booking and the train you hardly notice.

Dont get hooked into their 90 min presentation and they dont take no for an answer.

My family and I loved this place! Rooms are very spacious. The hotel is right across the street from the beach and their is lots of restaurants to choose from.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms. Not for light sleepers - next to busy train tracks

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The room and scenery was nice

The city-facing room I stayed in was way too loud to get any decent sleep. The nearby railroad crossings mean there are train whistles going all night long, and it's extremely loud in these rear-facing rooms. The rest of the room was passable, but nothing special.

The hotel is right at the beach front, very clean rooms, kitchen is well supplied. The pull out couch is of good quality.

Perfect location and a nice resort. The beds were too soft for me but my wife was happy. I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a great view a kitchen, and still feel like you are in a hotel. Make sure you let them know you are not interested in purchasing if your not. I did and the staff were still great!

Rooms were very spacious and Nice big whirlpool tub. Staff were very accommodating. My flight was 5 hours late so the staff made arrangements for my fiance who arrived on time to get into the room ahead of time and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Andy and Cherie!! Great Value for the money. This Place has everything and is right on the Ocean with everything you could ever need close by... Will definitely stay here again.......

Great location - pier, ocean, restaurants! Nice rooms, fairly new. Free underground parking. Yes, there are trains but that is true all along the coast, it didn't bother me.

This is the perfect place for a family beach vacation. The room was clean and nice and the facility is outstanding. There are plenty of reasonably priced seafood restraunts in the area. The beach activities are great, surf lessons/equipment, body boarding, fishing or just relaxing.

Overall experience was great, location could not get any better, and the staff were great. Only issue was the air conditioner seemed to not cool the room but at least the wind was available when we opened the window and the door

The hotel overlooked the beach which was wonderful, central location made it convenient to town. At night it was a little uncomfortable walking around, many young people at bars and such. The train traveled 24/7, making a full night sleep impossible. Room was not cleaned until late in the day and on our last day not cleaned at ALL, albeit four requests. Hot tub was broken after first day, no bubbles, gym was very nice. Also found cheaper price when booking directly with hotel, but it was too late, I had already made reservations with travel site for 30.00/ day more!!!! UGH!

Overall, I'm somewhat disappointed. Check in was more focused on getting us on their time share contact list than welcoming us. Advertised as sleeps 4. There were only 2 of us but, I went for the sleeper sofa...a big mistake. So uncomfortable. View of empty lot and construction was disappointing, and an early-morning false fire alarm on Sunday was so fun! (Not really.) Checkout staff was rude. I asked for a receipt, and she said there was none to give. Still puzzled by that one. Expected more considering what we paid. Probably will try something else next time.

Beach and pier were just across the street. Could walk to restaurants and entertainment. We were on the seventh floor and the elevator was fast! Parking was convenient. Had a great time.

I stay in Oceanside several times a year. This was my second time at this hotel, and I have to say, its perfect! The only thing missing was a microwave in my room. The hotel staff, as amazing as they are, were happy to reheat my coffee and pop my popcorn for me. It was also my fiance's birthday. The staff put together the cutest little candy gift bag and had everyone sign a card. It was very sweet and they won me over. I will be back many times to come! Julene Salt Lake City, Utah
