We checked in Saturday 8/13/2016 room 1604. Everything was great, location, clean, staff were attentive & polite. At 2:30 AM Sunday morning, in the middle of a good night sleep.....our hotel phone rang, woke us up from our sleep. Someone had closed the door to the small hallway in front of room #1604 & #1603, and I'm not sure who designed this....but you nor anyone else can open it unless you have the key to either room. So my husband and I had to wake up and open the door for whoever needed to go in to room 1603 and didn't have the key to it and the bouncer of your club "Altitude" & one of your hotel staff (in uniform) was with them. Of course we couldn't go back to sleep. What did we gat out of that....being woken up at 2:30 AM ? free parking, yes...!! free parking...generous, right ??? Never again !!! As I said before, we like everything else about the hotel, but too bad your staff didn't think we need our sleep.

Very friendly staff and clean room. Awesome views too

We love staying here. It's steps away from ball park. You can park your car and walk around and find awesome places. Highly recommend.

Positives great location walking distance to stadium and also to gaslamp and nice roof top bar also bed was comfortable , negatives when arrived at 5 room was not ready and should of been ready by 4 . They gave is this free breakfest but was not worth the inconvience and room change to handicap room , parking is 40 buck per day . If I would of know that I would of stayed on the marina for 100 bucks cheaper and just took a taxi for 6 bucks back and forth .Also a ton of traffic trying to get in or out of hotel because so close to stadium . So if u don't plan on driving and staying exclusively there might be worth staying there if u plan on being out and about San Diego maybe not

It was a great experience! I Def would recommend this hotel!

Love this Marriott you can watch the ball game on top of the roof where the bar is enjoy the game and have drinks and food

Marriot Gaslamp was in a prime location! My closest friends and I were walking distance from delicious eateries and great bars. This place is the ideal mini vacay and in close proximity to everything San Diego has to offer!

booked 2 suites, only one was available upon check in the "suite" we did get was like being in a basement, dark and depressing both windows were frosted as they faced a brick wall a foot away rooftop deck was not open no hot water just warm overall, extremely poor value, we paid $450 per room!

A nice Hotel with friendly staff in a great location. Parking is $40. The internet is $12.95 and doesn't work well. No Jacuzzi!

The location does not get any better, adjacent to San Diego's popular Gas Lamp, across the street from the Padres' baseball stadium and short walk to the convention center. The price of a night's stay seems a bit excessive, but is probably competitive with the local area. Upon arrival the hotel computer system had crashed. The professional staff managing the check-in promptly responded enabling customers to get into their rooms without keys or offering a free drink at the bar until the computer was revived. A most enjoyable stay with many of San Diego's points of fun and interest within walking distance.

The room was nice, great view, would stay there again.

room, staff, etc good. Only complaint was expense of wifi. Chose not to pay and had terrible reception on phone. Could not use ipad. Who is going to pay $80 a week for wifi.

The location is great, but the rest of the hotel is ok. It's a good place to stay if you just need a place to sleep. But for what you pay I would expect more. It's nothing to rave about. If you are going to be out in town and just want a place to sleep this is fine because it's close to the night life, but that's about the best thing it has. Staff was ok, not rude but not too friendly either if that makes sense, probably overworked. Not a great place for family if that's what you are looking for. Won't stay here again, I like to get papered a bit if I'm paying 200 and up a night... no free wifi.

We stayed here from 8-26-13 thru 8-29-13. Everything was amazing. From the time we pulled up in front of the hotel to the time we departed everyone was very accomodating and seemed to be happy to be there to assist us. The location is dead on for the activities downtown, Petco is across the street and soooooo many places to walk to. Breakfast - Broken Yolk, Pub - The Field. Both places are wonderful.

Spent the night with my girlfriend. Hotel is located across the street from Petco Park. No need to drive around to find bars, everything is walking distance. Room was clean and quiet. Great stay overall.

We picked the hotel based on the finish line for the San Diego Half Marathon. We were pleasantly surprised by the closeness to many GREAT food places as well (Old Spaghetti Factory and Hard Rock are both right on that block. The subway across the road is open 24/7!). The room was beautiful and clean. I didn't like the bathroom door didn't have a lock (seem to be the new thing as our hotel in Vegas was the same way) and the beds were small and extremely bouncy! Because there was 4 of us we had to go with the 2 double beds. I would have much preferred a kind bed with a pull-out couch, but that isn't an option here. The check-in and out was extremely quick and there is candy at the checkin counter for free (tootsie rolls, taffy, and necco wafers when we stayed). I would stay here again if in the area! Oh and Valet parking is $38 a day or u can self park across the street for $17 a day. Which I knew that before going!

Decided to book a room in Gaslamp with only 2 days notice. Found a great price, great location, friendly staff, comfy beds, and a gorgeous view! Would stay here again.

Had a great time celebrating with friends at the rooftop. Lounge.

Room was great , staff was friendly and accomodating ..

My stay was only for one night, but Marriott Gaslamp Quarter delivered exactly what I needed: (1) easy check-in, that took no more than a minute; (2) very clean room; (3) very comfortable bed; (4) excellent pillows; (5) at a great location near the convention center. The value was not great (price seemed high), but it may be because I booked the hotel at the last minute. Certainly a very nice place to stay for business or pleasure.
