Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter

Walking distance to every thing in the gaslamp quarter , restaurants and nightclubs. Safe neighborhood, though can be noisy street side on lower floors, had booked king size studio with kitchen for family of 3 , would think about booking a larger one if next time.

Hotel staff friendly, room was very clean. Location is in the heart of gaslamp. The one issue I had was my room not being ready for check in. Check in was at 4, room not ready until 5. I had to wait in small lobby, no upgrade was offered even though they stole an hour of my time from visit.

The staff was friendly the room was clean and the breakfast was very good for the value

I would have given this hotel a 5-star review except for two serious shortcomings. 1) The stated check-in time was 4:00, but the hotel wasn't able to provide us a room until 6:30 p.m. 2) Parking was $44 dollars a night! Holy cow! Parking at the Hotel del Coronado is $30/night, and at the Loews Coronado it's $25/night. Otherwise, the Residence Inn is a lovely hotel in excellent condition, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I really liked the hotel. Perfect location, good service, good breakfast. Good value for the money. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to have a kitchenette and have an apartment, rather than a hotel room feel. The only thing that I believe is missing in the room is tea kettle. To have a cup of tea in the morning or evening was a hassle.

My daughter and I stayed here when we came to town for the Taylor Swift concert. The hotel was prepared for the crowd and checked us in quickly. The room was clean and large. The complimentary breakfast was quick and had a pretty good selection. The hotel was within walking distance to Petco Stadium and surrounding restaurants.

The hotel is well located, with easy access to many attractions. The service is great and the staff very helpful. A very good experience overall.

Hotel met my expectation. I had to bring my family with me to the conference in SD. With my 6 months old infant I needed a place with extended stay facilities. Room is not too big not too small for us but I wished I had a separated living room and kitchen. Room was clean, staff were nice and very helpful. The free hot breakfast buffet was very nice, I won't complain too much since it was complimentary. Location was excellent walking distance to expo center and right in the middle of the town.

We so appreciated the cleanliness and comfort level of hotel in Gaslamp. For the money, the suite was so inviting and the staff was very accommodating.

Was there for a night. Great location for a night out on the town. Hotel crew was great.

Next to the convention center light rail, it is a good place to stay. The stuff there are all very friendly, and the kitchen is nice, too. We had a good time staying there.

Enjoyed spending the night on the gaslamp district of Sam Diego for under $200. Hotel was clean, secure, allowed us to check in early, and everyone was attentive and courteous. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils, which was also nice and better than expected. I wish parking cost less you than $40. We opted to use public parking down the street and that ended up being $37 for a 20 hour stay! Also, even got a handicapped room because it was what was available and there was nowhere to hang ling garments in the closet! I assumed the other rooms would have been different, but I could be wrong.

It's very close to the convention center for me to save time. Petco Park stadium is very near the hotel so that enjoy Padres ball game. Room is very clean and quiet. restraurant Meze 1st floor is very nice place for day&night pleasure..

This is a great hotel! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic for all that we wanted to do. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the workers there were very friendly. I look forward to returning to the Residence Inn.

Overall an excellent hotel experience. The staff were better than fantastic. The location is right in the heart of the Gaslamp District which made it perfect for walking. It was an easy drive to Seaport Village, Old Town and Balboa Park. Balboa park is where the zoo is located and so much more. There are about 20 museums as well as an excellent kids playground in the northwest corner of the park that we took our 3y/o daughter to 4 times. There are free computers with printers in the lobby that came in handy for printing park passes etc. The hotel has free appy's on Monday-Wednesdays and an excellent continental breakfast (not the best I've had, but close). The beds though not the most comfortable I have slept on (Double Tree by Hilton), they were comfortable. I wouldn't expect an adult to sleep on the hide-a-beds (I've never seen a comfortable hide-a-bed), but it was fine for my daughter. ****PARKING**** Unless there is an event at PETCO Park, DO NOT use the valet parking ($39/night). There is a massive parkade at the end of the block on the left (you could throw a ball to it from the hotel doors) for $15/night. I only have two complaints about the hotel. 1) there is no Hot Tub, 2) the elevators smelt like a wet dog. It is also worth mentioning noise; the Gaslamp district can be somewhat noisy (on the weekends in particular) and so there was some noise. It seemed to settle right down after about 10:30 and we didn't mind (my daughter had no problem sleeping through it). I would definately stay here again. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again.

Great access to the convention center and the Gas Light area. Very comfortable and clean room. Free breakfast had expansive choices - hot and cold.

We had a wonderful experience as soon as we entered. The check-in staff was exceptional and upgraded us to a corner king suite when we mentioned we were in town for our anniversary! She also gave us a credit for a free dinner at the hotel restaurant - which was exceptional! Free breakfast was a nice perk, although not the best food every day it was a free meal! Would definitely stay here again.

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. The staff was excellent, awesome very helpful. The room was clean felt like home. Stores close to the hotel, shopping and lots of resturuant and if you're a party goer the gas lamp area is the place to be on the weekends. It was awesome, I will go back again. There was 1 thing I didnt like...... Parking!!! There's no free parking. Be ready to give up your first born just to park your car.

Our 4 day visit in San Deigo was very nice, all the services everyone was friendly and pleasant .The location was perfect.Loved the breakfast every morning, the help was so nice and helpful.

This hotel is very close to the Convention Center and walking distance to plenty of restaurants in the Gaslamp district. They had a recent remodel -which resulted in nice, modern decor. The complementary morning breakfast is HOT and better than most "free breakfast".
