Good location but furnishing are really old and smelt.

Great location, a little bit of street noise but ear plugs are supplied. Comfortable pillows and bedding, we were in a newly renovated room and was very nice inside. Walking distance to shops and restaurants, gas station directly opposite the parking lot. Very friendly welcoming staff, in room conveniences included make up remover towelettes - nice touch! Great deal for the price.

Comfortable room, centrally located, staff was nice - didn't try the restaurant, it was closed due to carpet cleaning. Not the "nicest" area. but never felt unsafe. Overall if you're just looking for a place to rest your head and be out and about, this will work - just the basics, no frills.

The lobby air conditioning did not work well, very stuffy, we had a delay in getting our room, but all the staff was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable, had a great view of the navel base and ships. Right off I-5 but I didn't really hear too much road noise and it was very convenient to go to the airport in the morning only about 10 minutes away with little traffic!

poor maintenance old building lights did not work when we got there only 1 elevator working elevator door closes before you have time to go inside housekeeping staff not friendly

Dollar for dollar, probably the best value in the area. Recently renovated, the rooms were clean and in great condition. Proximity to Coronado, downtown San Diego and the highway is excellent! Staff was very friendly!

Well, the location was good, but the hotel need a big improvements project in overall, painting, rooms, bathrooms, carpets, doors...

I picked this hotel because google showed it had a parking lot for my truck and trailer. When I arrived at 9:30 pm I found the parking lot completely full of low-riders and people drinking (convention I assume). Fortunately, I was allowed to park in a bus zone IFO the hotel. There was a very loud mariachi band playing at the hotel. Lots of loud music and loud people. I walked to the Jack in the Box behind the hotel. Homeless and drug addicts everywhere. People sleeping in cars. I hurried back to my room, put earplugs in, and prayed for the best. My room was ok but the hotel exterior/elevators were dirty.

The hotel looked dated on the outside but the photos of the interior looked ok and the rate was really good so we picked it for our one night stay. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our room was clean but it was definitely in need of some refurbishing. The warped bottom of the bathroom door indicated that it had been exposed to a great deal of water at some point. It also took great effort to close and open, probably due to the water damage. This was minor compared to the water that dripped all night from a drain directly above the sink faucet. It started with a slow, steady drip in the middle of the night so moving to another room at that point was out of the question. By the time we were all up and getting ready in the morning, is was dripping heavily enough that it was starting to splash and puddle around the sink. This made it really hard to wash hands and get ready. The shower also drained very slowly so we had to turn off the water in the middle of the shower to allow it to drain and then continue after a few minutes. We didn't have time in the morning to go over these issues with the staff so I hope this information makes its way to them at some point.

Hotel location for our visit was perfect. Hotel and room were very clean but definitely needs to be updated. The only complaint I have is the fact that the fan was in the common sleeping ares and it ran all day and night. There was no fan inside the bathroom with shower which I found to be very outdated.

Pros: Clean room, comfortable beds, private parking, very close to San Diego trolley (8th street station), pleasant front desk staff, fridge/microwave in room Cons: Inconsistent housekeeping (they didn't always leave shampoo/conditioner or washcloths, they came at wildly different times of day--9 AM one day and 3:45 PM the next), outdated-looking building (although the room itself was updated), low-quality food in the hotel restaurant, not the nicest neighborhood, virtually zero nearby restaurants or shopping Overall: Not a bad hotel, would stay here again but would be sure to bring my own toiletries and have my own transportation.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They airconditioning in the room was barely working and the non-smoking room reeks of cigarette smell.

when we arrived after 3 pm the check-in was slow, Three desk clerks , one walking around two working. Check-in was slow but smooth otherwise. The room was on the 9th floor and had a good view. You could easily walk around the building and see the Mountains, Downtown SD, and the Navel Base, with docked ships. The building is close by tot he MTS light rail line. convenient ito SD or the Border. We noticed later after 8:Pm there was plenty of parking. We believe the Hotel was not very full. We went to the Restaurant about 7. The entrance was posted open from 5-9 PM. But the room was empty except for one patron who was eating. We waited over 20 minutes. no server to be seen. My wife went into the kitchen, to get someone. Shortly thereafter, a day waitress appeared, said she was the day server, and could not help and said the restaurant was closed. Closed but not posted as open. She said we could order at the bar, we went to the bar, the bartender, worked at cleaning his bar, and showed no willingness to help any of the patrons at the bar. and we ended up going to an eatery in another location. Sunday was no different, the Maids and service personnel were very efficient - a trait no seen outside of this. The restaurant was posted as open from 5-9 with no servers or patrons. A good looking hotel, But, Management seems not to care.

Only thing good about this hotel it was 3 blocks from the trolley. They lied about the free shuttle service there is none money I had to use for transportation the noise on the street was loud the air condition was so loud it woke me up and the bathroom sink was very slow to drain.

The room was okay. The service was fine. Although the entire period of my stay, the WIFI did not work. Nonetheless, it was a fun trip.

This hotel was great. It had a friendly and helpful staff, the room was clean, and it was close to almost everywhere I went to. Had a bar/kitchen in the hotel, but I did not go there, so I don't know if the food was well priced or good. Was a little disappointed they didn't have room service.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. I was taking a course at the college next door so the location was great. Unfortunately the course was the same weekend as Comicon so the rates were outrageous. I'm sure on a different weekend the rates would be more reasonable. Overall I had a good stay.

Not as nice as the pictures lead to you to beleive. The area is rather run down and the hotel is aging. The room was acceptibly clean but has seen better days. Would recommend spending the extra money to stay in The Gaslamp District, Mission Beach, La Jolla or Del Mar.

Just O'k! They do not really care. AC to noisy.Everything looks old.Still good for money. If you want something better-stay at Gas-lamp.

Hotel was ok there was nothing that really stood out to me about my 2 day stay there.

Thank you so much for letting us know about your experience with us! I'm so sorry about the AC unit. We have had to make some repairs to these lately with the heat wave we've had, but I hope it didn't impact your stay too much. I'm glad to see that otherwise it was a pleasant experience for you! Thank you again for the kind words, and we hope to get the chance to serve you again soon!

Thank you for letting us know about your visit. I'm so sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. We did have our elevator down for several days due to some repair work, and we just got it back online today. I am so sorry that impacted your stay. We realize it's not ideal to stay in a hotel that is under renovation, but we're working hard to complete all of the upgrades I'm also disappointed to hear about the lack of friendliness from our Housekeeping staff. I will share this with them, and work to ensure that we're providing welcoming and friendly service to all of our Guests. Again, thank you for letting us know, and we do hope that we get the chance to make this up to you in the future.
