We made are reservations at this hotel because it was one of the few we could find with a hot tub, and after a long drive I really need one for my shoulders. At check-in, I asked specifically for a room close to the hot tub, and the clerk gave us a room directly by the pool, but didn't bother to mention that their hot tub wasn't working. After going out to visit friends, we went to use the tub and found it ice cold. The clerk explained that they were under renovation, and it had been down for awhile and wouldn't be up during the duration of our stay. There are plenty of hotels around Carlsbad with cheaper rates, but no hot tub. Since we were already checked in and unpacked, and we could not find another hotel with openings, it was too late to do anything about it. We spent two nights there. When we went to check out, I told them that I felt we should get a partial refund because of the renovation situation. The clerk told me that we could have used the tub in the hotel across the street! Very timely, since we were checking out. I think that if Ramada can't keep their website updated, they owe me at least a partial refund! On another note, the room was clean, even with construction going on, and the other amenities such as breakfast were great. If you don't need the hot tub, it's a great place to stay.

Four other hotels right next door - I can't imagine they are all in the same condition. This one felt dirty. (Carpet stained, sheets itchy, bugs, etc). We had a suite and while we had not intention of using the kitchen - it all looked broken and filthy.

The floors were very dirty. My three young kids had black feet after walking on them. i wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I ever go back. It's like they took a picture of a remodeled room and used that on their website. My room looked nothing like the website that's for sure. Very disappointed.

I have stayed at this Ramada 4 times and they were ok... the rooms were decent. This last stay I went they were under construction/renovation and didn't even bother to warn me... lots of parking spaces were closed off for the storage of construction supplies etc. and once in my room I discovered certain amenities I would have normally expected were lacking (no coffee pot and no blow dryer). Plus I stayed for three nights and room service only showed up once! And that one time was around 6:30PM when I had already come back to the hotel after a long day out... I was about to take a shower so I had to ask them to come back and then they never came back!!! I was not happy on my last trip also because they seem to have discontinued certain items that had always been previously offered as part of the free breakfast on my last few stays (this time no waffles and a lot fewer varieties of pastry). I will definitely go back because I'm hoping it is only temporary and after renovation they might be back to slightly higher standards. Also, the location happens to be very convenient.

Stayed in a room with 2 full size beds and pull out bed in the front room. The room was clean and functional. Everything worked out good! Breakfast was good. The pool is not heated.

This Ramada hotel was less than 1 mile from a really nice beach area, it was also close to shopping centers and the outlet mall. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There are currently renovations being made in this hotel and we had a newly renovated room which was nice. The only thing that is a downside is how loud the free way is during rush hour. But it was quiet during the night hours. The breakfast was good, and fresh food. Would recommend this hotel - disregard the negative reviews. I almost didn't book the hotel because of them - but this hotel was great! (And I travel a lot)

Drove 13 hours to hotel and the hotel gave are room away. They said you should have been here sooner and that the hotel is full now.

Initially the hotel looked great. However, we were delayed on our check-in due to not having my reserved room ready. After checking in, the rooms initially presentation was amazing. However, the bed was way to stiff for my taste. Overall a good stay for the price.

Didn't like the fact that none of the room doors wouldn't close and then the restroom doors wouldn't lock plus it had a whole inside the showers

I stayed here for 3 days with the other 4 members of my family. Room size was ok but, they ran out of kitchen kits and refused to give me any plastic forks of spoon or plates. Asked other visitors if they got them and they said that the hotel had ran out. How does this happen? Should have kits for every room with a kitchen area. All of my family members were forced to take cold showers for there was no hot water throughout our stay. Fold out couch was awful! Pool was freezing and filthy! Also, do not walk barefooted on the carpet!! It will turn your feet black. Disgusting!! You are much better off staying at the Travelodge across the street. Stayed there before. Had a much better experience.

WE booked this place for two nights . The rooms were completely in need of a make over. The appliances were very old and dirty. The AC did not work properly and had just a cooler which stopped working every five hours. To make it worse there was no hot water available in the room.

It was close to Legoland but we weren't very impressed with our room or the service. Our keys didn't work twice during our stay of 3 days (once on day 2 and again on day 3). Had to go ask for more towels our second day as only one was provided. The air conditioner stopped working one night because the water container was full.

Bathroom always smelled like sewage and had roaches, hard bed and lumpy pillows, called for extra blanket and never got a call back, stayed til Monday and keys stopped working Sunday, wifi didn't work at all in the room, spa had what looked like ramen noodles floating in it, shower water wouldn't heat up. Decided to stay an extra night and was told it would cost $69, upon check out I see they charged me $76 plus tax. 0/10 would not recommend!! The best they could do was a 30% refund.

I almost cancelled our reservation due to the recent bad reviews of others. I found the staff to be welcoming and courteous. Although we did not go in the pool (too busy otherwise) it looked clean and inviting - many others were using it. The breakfast had the usual hot and cold selections and was just fine for a free hotel breakfast. The bed was OK and I would say the same about the cleanliness. Overall I would stay here again if needed as the price was right and let's face it - if you're spending too much time at your hotel you're not out enjoying what California has to offer!

Hotel was ok but was told pool would be clean next day one look at it ummm yeah no it won't be and wasn't.

The hotel itself is ok, pricing ok, back rooms face the Interstate Highway are noisy at night.

Their internet didn't work. Our room key didn't work had to go couple times to get fixed but the line is long with people having same problem. Need remodeling things are old and worn down. The next door Laquint's internet works and cleaner looking. Go there.

First let me say that the staff was great. Very good customer service. The hotel itself is run down and needs a lot of updating. It served our needs, a bed, shower, toilet and newer TV's. We only needed to stay one night so it worked Ok for us. it's in a good location and appeared to be safe. Shopping and the beach where nearby. Stay here if you need a place for a day or two. Don't stay here if you want something on the nicer end.

Manager Jamal gets angry if you are not happy with something. Everything is broken all the time. Rooms are dirty and falling apart. Furniture needs to be replaced. Too expensive for how much you have to compromise. Waste of time and money.

Stayed at this place many times before. Felt it was a great value. This visit, no jacuzzi, no wifi, and I wouldn't call it warm water for the shower. Very disappointed.
