I wasn't expecting luxury with this hotel, but it was very disappointing. I had a tiny, claustrophobic and extremely hot room on the first floor that definitely wouldn't have been comfortable for more than one person. No one had prepared the room temperature-wise, so it was baking when I arrived and even putting the air-conditioning on high didn't cool it down enough. I ended up asking for a fan at the front desk and all they had was a well-used, very loud maintenance fan, but along with the AC, it helped during my stay. I noticed that the wall adjoining the bathroom and the closet was actually hot to the touch, so maybe they put me next to the boiler room or something? On top of that, the neighborhood on the outskirts of downtown and somewhat near the airport (yes, you could hear planes going over) was rough. Filled with homeless and dodgy looking types (esp. at nearby Balboa Park), I avoided walking around for long on my own. I looked for a pizza joint or deli to get a quick meal, but all I could find was a liquor store with packaged sandwiches. Breakfast at the hotel was marred by a mentally ill woman who had apparently stayed overnight and who talked to herself and got heated with one guest. The staff didn't seem to know what to do, but it probably wasn't the first time this had happened. Overall, the hotel did provide the basic amenities and the staff was nice, if a bit unequipped, but I definitely wouldn't go back.

There was no parking so you had to pay $25 per day extra in a pay lot across the street. The AC didn't work right and after two failed attempts to fix it I gave up. Housekeeping cleaned the room twice in 5 days. I had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels. One clerk told me they didn't usually clean rooms at all when people book online. The breakfast room was only had seating for 10 when there were 60 or more showing up for breakfast. Location was good but everything else was miserable.

Stayed 4 nights beds are very comfy. Room was very.... small. Also no parking Hotel is nice and clean. Does come with breakfast. Overall experience was good.

Rooms were small but functional. NO hot water in the shower over the weekend and the room heater/ac wasnt working properly. Thankfully the temp was mild outside. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The fitness center is dirty and not very useful, unless you need a treadmill and a few freeweights. Free breakfast is pretty standard. Powdered eggs though...why is this even a thing? Real eggs are dirt cheap.

Annoying knocking at the door in the morning by room service even I was showing the do not need service tag The girls in the loopy are not helpful and didn't offer me to have my bag delivered to my room when first checked in. And I asked ones about directions did not help well and not seem interested to even there was no body. So I decided to ask people in the road and off course google maps. Finally breakfast should be till 11:30am at least in the weekends it's San Diego a lot of people visit it. I

On our trip to San Diego we changed many hotels because we didn't plan ahead of time that we will spend all that time in the city. We stayed in days inn, motel 6, hilton garden inn, gaslamp plaza suites and finally this quality inn. The best I would say it lacks quality!! Our last stop was spending a night at quality inn. We booked last minute and we missed booking a room for the night in Gaslamp suites. As we were going to spend most of the night out anyways, we have decided to go for it, thinking the reviews are exaggerated and it is closer to the downtown of San Diego. The fact is it wasn't so close to neither the gaslamp area nor to little Italy or the harbour. It is across the highway that splits the town in 2. I think the only asset in this hotel is the staff, they are super nice and very helpful, the court yard has a nice layout and that's it!! And i mean it, don't expect anything else! Rooms are small, stuffy, smelly and not clean! First room we stepped in , we had to change because there was a guy next door speaking non-stop! He didn't even take his breath, continuous loud talk! Yes the walls are so bloody thin but that wouldn't have been an issue for us as we were going out until late night anyways. But at the time of check in late afternoon it was so annoying. We called the reception, Rukaya was great and changed the room straight ahead. Then we went to the second room, which was worse in a different sense, I swear if smell can come clear in a photo, I woul

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Judging by the price per night I was pleasantly surprised by the room being so clean and comfortable.

Not a safe area. Small room. Homeless outside the door and beggers.

The front desk wasn't very pleasant. He wasn't very welcoming at all. This hotel only has rooms with one bed. All rooms are like this. The rooms are very small. They were clean though. Location is ok. No parking here. You have to pay to park on the street if you even find parking.

It is a Quality Inn ie clean room and comfortable bed 15 min walk to the town centre and close to the westerly tip of Balboa park. It suited my needs but they were basic

For the price, a fantastic deal when compared with the large hotels smack in the thick of it all. This one is within striking distance, but at a huge savings--and super easy to get to from the freeway. The hotel is clean and well appointed, and the staff was helpful and good-mannered. Four of us went to watch a football game, and they accommodated our request for two adjoining rooms. We were on the top floor, so I can't say we had any noise from upstairs guests. This is a light-frame building, so that might be an issue with lower floors. Rooms are clean and well-appointed, with a mini-fridge that came in handy for our leftovers and party supplies. Good value overall.

Rooms are clean and room was updated minus the bathroom. The room was extremely small for 2 people. Located not in the best area. No parking lot- street parking only.

Breakfast is free which is great. Love making waffles! Eggs could be better though. Overall not a bad hotel. Good location and good price.

Transients out the front door all hours of the day! Nothing worked in the hotel, shower door kept falling off, when we contacted staff they said "what am I supposed to do about it!" Ac didn't work, no hotel parking, had to pay $30/day to park across the street! Place is ridiculous!

I stayed at this hotel while in town for the marathon. I recommend the hotel if you are in town for marathon, otherwise I would stay somewhere else. There is a taco stand and a burger bar nearby which was very convenient. There are plenty of bus stops all around the hotel so that was nice. The parking situation seemed extremely limited so I would think twice if you intend on having a car during your stay. The hotel was pretty old and I didn't realize that the room doors opened to the outside - yes, they open to a courtyard but still it was not as I expected. The rooms were small but acceptable. There is a microwave and mini fridge which was nice. The windows opened to buildings super close on either side so I didn't feel comfortable with the windows open. It was extremely frustrating that the breakfast was not served until 7am. I was not able to have breakfast any of the days during my stay because I had to be up and out before 7am. You would think they would consider altering their breakfast schedule the weekend of the marathon when most of the hotel guests were there for the marathon that started at 6am. Also, they actually LOCK the breakfast room so you can't even get in to grab a water bottle or piece of fruit. It seemed like a lot of people loitering around for the breakfast were not actual hotel guests but rather acquaintances of the staff. Oh, and just forget about the WIFI. Not even a trace of it existed outside the lobby.

Was disappointed when I arrived because when I booked the hotel, it specified that parking was free. Parking is on the street or at a paid lot across the street. The room seemed to be forever humid and was worse when you took a hot shower. You'd have to open the door to the hallway to air out the room. The continental breakfast was always out of bagels, even an hour into the service. Elevator was also very slow.

Everything was perfect. Can't complain. Staff was great, location was excellent and food/drinks we're even better. Can't beat the price. Thank you

My stay was very relaxing, the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Nice and great location! Close to downtown, zoo, shopping and food!

Decent, somewhat small rooms but did the trick. I had to call in for an extra set of sheets though, might be because I am a gramophone but nonetheless the staff accommodated my needs.
