Pacific Shores Inn on Pacific Beach

The hotel was fine. Less than a block from the beach. Easy, free parking.

Overall, I would say this is a decent little hotel which is very close to the beach. The hotel seems old, but maintained. The beach proximity and free breakfast is what prompted me to book a room. There are a lot of restaurants and a CVS within walking distance, too. Pros: The room itself was pretty decent; we were on the 2nd floor and had a partial view of the beach and ocean. The windows had shutters on them which I liked because it allowed control of outside lighting while maintaining privacy. There were no issues with noise during our stay. Housekeeping was responsive to a note I left in room when they came to tidy the room. Cons: Upon arrival on a Sunday, I had concerns with the limited parking. However, there were no issues finding a space during the week; not sure how this plays out on a Friday or Saturday evening though. There were no screens on the windows so I couldn't keep the room open; some rooms had windows with screens. The mini kitchen did not have a sink and there was no coffee or sweetener stocked in the room when we arrived.

Great value being so close to beach. A bit outdated but we were only there to sleep and shower.

Good time, staff accommodating and responsive, clean swimming pool

Second time we have stayed here... the price is right & the location is amazing. 1 minute walk to boardwalk/beach, short walk to lots of restaurants, bike rental shops, shopping. Nothing fancy about this hotel but it is kept nice and the staff is great. Free parking Pay per day for internet/WiFi. Free breakfast, though it's pretty skimpy ( pastries, juice, coffee)

Staff is super friendly. Location is great. Love the old fashioned motel feel. Cleanliness of the room could improve.

This place needs lots of help, to much to list, but not very clean.

Nice hotel for the price, would have like a hot tub as well as a pool

Clean rooms, larger than other properties, so it's good if you have children with you. Friendly staff. It's just a forty yard walk from the beach in the room that we were staying in. Good room for the value on the holiday weekend.

We were looking for something close to beach. This worked great. Not on the beach but a very short walk.(no streets to cross)

The location was excellent-short walk to beach. Bathroom was too small with no counter space. We had to ask for towels every day.

Great stay. Definitely will return. Clean hotel room. Renovated room. Close to the beach.

For the money the rooms are very outdated-I remember when a friend stayed here before they must've had an updated room cow it was brand new inside and was really modern-this had an early 90s feel about it and my room was the very last one down the very end upstairs and when I opened the bathroom window, there was a huge loud generator downstairs outside which made it impossible to keep the window open-There was no A/C just a fan an when I pulled the cord to change the speed it broke! The lady at check in was super cool! The guy at check out who I think may have owned the place was very casual and spoke to his friends out front in a foreign language while I stood at the desk for nearly 5mins-I would never have known he worked there except he finally came in and asked me what I wanted-i said I wanted my deposit back and was checking out, and he seemed confused and and quite rudely said I'm sorry so what is it u want? I had to repeat myself and tell him I left $50 cash deposit and I want it back-overall pretty outdated and great location but that's all ur paying for

Had a great time, the location was great. It was clean but dated but if you are just looking for a place to sleep it was just fine.

The room its self is fairly large with the exception of the bathroom which could have been a bit larger. The pool was not heated and it was cold the entire time we were there (end of June). It would have been nice to have the option of going into a heated pool (as advertised in front of their building). Parking within the complex can be challenging if you arrive late in the evening. Also, the pillows where flat – felt overly used. HOWEVER, the location was perfect! The beach is 1 minute walk from the hotel, near the boardwalk. There are several shops/restaurants within a close proximity. If you don’t plan to stay much at a hotel – this is a perfect location to stay at.

Great hotel on sandy beatiful pacific beach, 10 min. to Sea World and Lo Jolla sea lions shore. We had wonderful week vacation .Thanks a lot !!!

It was a great stay the Staff were nice ,location to the beach was perfect only about one minute walk from the hotel room to the beach. The rooms were clean. Will stay here again.

First time going out for a weekend and was a bit unsure about this place, but it was really really nice. We got a perfect room, everythig was clean and its 1 minute walking distance from the beach!

Expensive for what you get other than a good location within walking distance of the beach and boardwalk. Carpeting was dirty, room was dark and dingy. No place to sit outside. Continental breakfast was weak coffee and a few assorted muffins and pastries. Would not recommend this place.

The location is wonderful. Steps to the beach and beach walkway, cafes, restaurants, grocery stores. Close to La Jolla too. The staff gave us an upgrade to a super-nice room with a kitchen area. Nice to have. Maybe over time some things like the frying pan had gone awol. Making dinner would have been easier with one, and also a couple of wine glasses and a sharp knife. But that's minor stuff. The point is that the room looks great, and with a tiny bit of care it would work great (instead of well) too. Super place. We will be back.
