We enjoyed our stay here. Room was very clean and have few complimentary activities available. Pools have volleyball nets. Some rooms have lake view. location is very quiet. i highly recommend. You can do Kayaking, Stand up paddle boating and motor boats as well. but lake is 1 mile long though. near by restaurants

We liked the overall feel but our room was not as nice as it could have been. The shower did not drain and we had ants the entire time in our bathroom that bit our feet. The wait staff was also slow. We waited for drinks for a long time. I wish we could have rated it higher but this is honestly how it was. Beds are very confortable though!

I think is the best hotel in San Marcos and the price is very decent

Great hotel for the area, far from the beach and from most of San Diego Areas, but if you plan to go specialy to San Marcos is a great place to stay

Beautifully furnished. The Decoy Restaurant is wonderful.

We enjoyed our time here. Dinner was booked solid at the Decoy on Friday Night, but we went for a complimentary boat ride and when we returned... our table was ready. The marina staff was great and helpful. Only negative was that the carpet in our room was stained really badly. Needed to be cleaned. To invest in a carpet shampooer... would be a good idea to keep things fresh. Otherwise a great trip.

We stayed here for 3 nights it was a nice little place to stay and realax. We didn't have time to do the activities at the beach but overall it was a nice stay.

Pulling up to the hotel, first impression it was in a great area and it was beautifully landscaped! We were greeted with a smile and a smore's kit for the campfires (super cute). Room was comfortable & clean, was cleaned daily and fresh toiletries provided. The two outdoor pools & Jacuzzi area was very relaxing with a great view of the mountains. We made use of our free pass each day for kayaking on the lake and although we didn't eat dinner at the Dockside, the driver let me and my fiancé hitch a ride with his sunset crew. We got engaged on this trip and will be coming back here for our honeymoon! I would recommend the LakeHouse Hotel & Resort to any of my friends!

Pleasant surprise! Terrific little jewel in San Marcos and the restaurant (the grill) was pricey but terrific

It was bad service in front desk. Cleaning service bad too.

Had to change room upon check in. The second room was dirty .

Definitely coming again. Hotel seems even nicer than last time. Staff is great. Restaurant is right on the water. Food wonderful.

I was only there overnight to attend a wedding. My time other than sleeping in this hotel was probably an hour. Even the Keurig coffee machine did not work. Upon checking out they charged me a resort fee! For what? Sleeping? I never used any services whatsoever! I was told - well you get free wifi. I advised them I was not here, I was at a wedding, all I did was sleep and never used your wifi, then the girl says well it's for parking too! If that was the case I would havery parked on the street! $15 for absolutely NOTHING! Never again will I stay here. Had I been here to enjoy the resort, that would be another story. Frankly, put the fee in the price, don't gouge people on false fake additional bogus fees!

Nice cottages by the lake. Great pools and beautifully updated grounds. Hummingbirds by the pool and smores by the fire were a great highlight. A beautiful retreat with great dining and surprising variety of small businesses nearby.

My view from my balcony was absolutely beautiful. Waking up on the lake every morning with all the birds chirping, I highly recommend this hotel. Very clean, the food at the restaurant at the hotel was exquisite as well. I highly recommended this hotel for your stay.

It was nice until this review enough already. You just lost me

The hotel is beautiful! The rooms are spacious, clean, up to date and very comfortable. The view from our room was spectacular. The grounds are kept very clean and the staff was very nice and eager to help.

A relaxing get away- close enough to be convenient but feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Totally encompassing and full of things to do, you really feel like a secluded lake side resort, with some of the best food in the world.

Good: Friendly, nice location, very good food, nice workout facilities, lakefront location, fun activities (boat rental, fishing, etc.), nice view at a pretty good restaurant. Bad: 1. In a one week stay, we had false fire alarms go off 5 times (3 in one night). When I finally called, the front desk wasn't even aware that the problem had been going on for awhile. Consistently waking up by fire alarm is not fun. 2. We tried ordering a rollaway which we gladly would have paid for. We were told that by "policy" we couldn't get a rollaway because there were two (small) beds in our room for the four of us. This place has a lot of potential. If they fix their issues of the fire alarm, and empower their staff to make reasonable decisions, I think it could really be a great place.

Took a break from the holiday stress by escaping for a few days. The resort felt exclusive to us since it was in the off-season.
