The room had dirty, stained carpets and curtains. Lots of noise from the street and the internet only worked sporadically. I checked out early because I couldn't breathe at night due to a reaction to something (mold?). Plus I got charged for the night I didn't stay. ; -(

I will say this about my stay, the Hotel is close to the cove and is within walking distance of everything on Prospect Avenue,

Cute hotel walking distance to beach and lots of restaurants and shopping. Rooms that are not ocean view looked pretty claustrophobic. Definitely worth the extra money for the view and balcony

the walls are INCREDIBLY thin. after two days i cancelled my week long booking and the owner charged me a full night penalty even though i gave 24 hour notice. parking on the street is very hard to find but the cherry on top was i found myself LOCKED IN THE HOTEL at 7am. all exterior doors were locked or barred. if there had been a fire we would have all died. even after bringing this up to the owner refused to refund me for the full night penalty. so i left a day early.

Nice rooftop Deck. No elevator. Decent value. Booked single room w ocean view. Would recommend, but not if you can't climb stairs.

Although being renovated its still my favorite place...location the best

Super location, comfortable and quiet. We upgraded to the nicest room in the hotel upon arrival since the Orbitz deal we found and booked online was not available. There was no wifi, at least in our room. I was stoked on the business center, but when I sat down to use it, I had to see the front desk to log on. This hotel could be SO MUCH BETTER WITH SO LITTLE EFFORT. The price was great, but dissappointed that there was no wifi or for my experiance a business center that could be accessable after midnight. You either have wifi or you don't. A business center has no value if it can't be used.

very old, eccentric aunty of a place. Charming. Each room is different.

Price was not what you said we were told a price on Orbitz was supposed to be $151 I ended up getting charged $200 for the room. I don't know if the mistake was on Orbitz or the hotel overcharged what Orbitz book the room for also checked in the air conditioner in our room did not work had to unpack and relocate to a Nother room on a different floor the staff was very helpful

Hotel staff very accommodating, balcony over main drag nice, but no elevator and 2 blocks from paid for parking (whether you use it or not). Close to food and shops, one long block from beach.

Great location walk to many restaurants and coastline cliff walking tracks. Parking is 3 minutes from hotel.

Super small room, very noisy!!! Location was amazing. No ocean view, but very close. Parking In parking garage 3 blocks away. Closes at 8 pm. Then have to call answering service. We waited 10 min to get into parking garage, then backed out into street.super scary for 2 women!!! Staff refunded our $10 nightly fee , we parked in street. No microwave in hotel at all. Coffee maker made lukewarm swill!! Close to everything though!!

Not a bad value overall but don't expect a nice room. They are old, cramped, and noisy from the street. The location is great though. Decent value for a budget-minded traveler.

A room is all you got! Zero amenities. Thought the room could be way cleaner, carpet stains, black stains in the shower curtain. Shower was great. There was a huge amount of dust accumulated in the back of the fridge, fridge itself was more like a freezer, it froze my coconut water and yogurt. Pillow case did not fit the pillows (too small), some towels were worn down. Bedspread and cushions were new. Balcony area hadn't been cleaned, overall I would not stay in this place again, but it was in a great location very central. Next time I go to La Jolla would def choose a hotel with better amenities.

Loved the location and cozy room for our college tour in San Diego. Cute spot right in the middle of the action. Clean rooms and friendly help- would certainly come here again!

The hotel itself was so-so. Nothing about the hotel itself, despite renovations, stood out in terms of rooms, amenities, etc. So in a lot of ways it was overpriced in that regards. HOWEVER! When it comes to location, it's perfect. You're literally 30 seconds walking distance away from La Jolla Cove where you have the most gorgeous view imaginable. Also, if you go up to the top of the hotel's patio, it gives you a breathtaking view (like a total picture). So essentially I was able to justify the price of the hotel for the location.

pros: -Close to center of city -Good home like feel -Clean Cons: -Wifi didn't work the whole time, they never got anyone to fix it for almost 24 hours. I needed it for work. Didn't make any amends. -Energy fee? The leaky toilet that made a loud refill noise every 20 min is what they're losing energy on -$10 for a razor... aren't those usually complimentary?. They charge crazy amounts for little extras like that. -Parking is hard, they charge $10 a day 2 blocks away. There's a place across the street for the same price. -The have an industrial soap dispenser in the shower...that has no soap. haha. Why even have it? Overall not bad! I would go again for the price.

great location. clean room. The night life was mature. i would stay there again.

This cute euopean inn is a great deal that is in the center of the la jolla cove area. Walkable distance from everything, free street parking available, and a beautiful sun deck with views of the ocean. Only complaint is an "old" smell that was present. But rooms are clean, and bathrooms newly remodeled.
