The staffs were pretty helpful, but no bath tub in most of the rooms

Nice, clean, quiet room. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Stayed for 3 nights for a conference, and had absolutely no issues.

Great hotel, very dog friendly, had complimentary dog beds and dog bowls for our use, and the layout (with hardwood floors, tiled bathroom, open/easy access shower, are things often overlooked but make cleaning up after dogs far far easier.

When i stayed at the Kimpton, i had to take a cold shower because the hot water was not working and when i notified the hotel they didnt offer me any sort of compensation or offer to switch my room.

Nice hotel with the perfect location if you're looking to be right in the GasLamp district. The room was small but nicely appointed and immaculate. My only issue with the hotel was that their morning coffee service ends way too early (9am!). They do however give you the option of delivering a coffee maker to your room if you miss the morning service. Overall it was a great stay, relaxing and comfortabl!

This hotel is in a good location downtown with convenient access to restaurants in the area. The furnishings are modern - perhaps a bit to modern in some regards. Specifically, the bathroom doors are somewhat less than functional. They are a single pain of frosted glass. The layout may challenge your notions of privacy if staying with another person... Likewise, we were not fans of the bathroom layout on the second floor servicing the bar area. One large unisex communal sink area with individual poorly lit stalls adjacent. Beyond the puzzling architecture choices for bathroom facilities, the hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

This is a nice hotel, well kept and located right on the 5th Avenue, where all the bars and restaurants are. Excellent location, right in the heart of the city. My room was nice, quiet and had a beautiful view; partially ocean/harbor and mostly city/skyline. I could be taking a shower and having that amazing view, from the bathroom. I had lunch at the restaurant downstairs and the turkey sandwich was yummy. Nice and friendly staff, very easy check in and out. The only flaw was the slow valet service at the check out; I waited 25 minutes for my car... Good thing though; if you have a hybrid car, you get a good discount on the valet hotel parking.

The hotel has a good location (close to tourist things but the area is very touristy so keep that in mind) and has all the qualities so that it could be described as upscale. I have stayed at the Palomar hotel in LA and Washington and thought the experience was fantastic. Here, I thought it was fine but nothing special. On the good side, the hotel had all of the great Kimpton Palomar qualities like a manager's reception, morning coffee, modern rooms, pet friendly and a great location. On the down side, parking was $42 per night (I am from New York and was still surprised at this), the staff were ok but nothing special, for example, when I checked in, the person at the front desk seemed like she was not that in to her job. She was not rude but not that welcoming. The room was small. The pool area was small and even when we went for a swim in the morning, there were several beer cans from the day before on the tables and the floor. The hotel was not cheap so I would have expected a bit more care. I still gave the hotel a 4 rating and feel that the rating on Orbitz is accurate in terms of what you are getting. If I returned to San Diego and had to be in the downtown area, I would consider staying here again as the experience was generally positive.

There was a technical mishap when trying to check in. After what seemed forever. Eventually resolved. Our stay was comfortable, staffs are very knowledgeable. Lots of restaurants to eat at in a walking distance. As well as for a convience store, but too many homeless people where ever you walk. Our room is always clean, towels replaced, and bed tucked everytime we come back.

Loved the room. We were a little disappointed in the lack of hot tub.

First, parking is $42.00 a day. Too much. Secondly, no ice machines. You must call the desk and wait for someone to bring you , no lie, 1/2 bucket without a cover. Wifi is $12.99 a day. I was given a room for $250.00 a day on the 5th floor,looking into a parking garage. Mind you, there are 20 floors, unknown to me at the time. I was there on a Wednesday, so the hotel was not nearly full. Not a comfy chair to sit on. The best, and only thing I really liked was the bed. Very comfortable. It is located in the heart of about 200 restaurants, but really not much else to do. I wouldn't stay there again. Had I known what I know now, I would have stayed closer to the pier. Live and learn.

The room was a nice size but the windows were over the venting for the kitchen so my room smelled like cooking food throughout the night and early morning. Towels were rough and not the greatest quality. The valet/door staff and the restaurant staff were very cordial and helpful. Some of the front desk staff need an attitude adjustment.

Great vibe at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee every morning and wine in the afternoon. Nice restaurant attached, so nightcap or breakfast was easy. The TV in our room didn't always work and they tried to fix it twice and couldn't get it repaired. Location was good... on the north border of the Gaslamp Quarter, which is good because it's a little quieter. Very close to public transportation and an easy walk to the seaport village, convention center and great restaurants and nightlife. I would stay there again!

We had a great girls weekend. We got into town a little early so we were able to check in, which was really great! The room was a little small but the finishes in the bed and the furniture was really comfortable. Their staff was so happy to work and be helpful towards us. I will definitely stay here again however it was a little pricey for the space that we got.

Great trip..... every thing went well except the voucher for the transportation didn't work.

Great service from the start. The valet staff were wonderful and the check-in staff are very welcoming. The room is beautiful. It's comfortable and inviting. I definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed for one night. Location was awesome, close to restaurants and bars downtown. We were pleasantly surprised to find that their restaurant, Saltbox, served amazing food and drinks. Overall we had a great time!

With that being said, we do utilize a parking service that valet parks all of the cars in a nearby secure garage. This does mean additional charges for the hotel and our guests.
