When you first drive up to the motel, it looks really nice. It looks like a quaint, 3 story motel surrounded by green grass on a cul-de-sac. I chose this motel because of it's closeness to the beach. Didn't read the reviews unfortunately, but I've stayed at motels in Inglewood, California that I felt safe in, so how bad could this place be I thought? After checking in (the front desk people were very nice) & parking, a woman a couple of parking spaces down was cleaning out her car & proceeded to call a black guy coming up to her the N-word very loudly. My room was pretty decent. Was updated. 2 women right next to our room hung out on the railing smoking in front of our door or standing in their open doorway looking out. Later, there was very loud arguing w/ a guy around 11 pm from their room. I'm going to say I think they were prostitutes. When approaching the stairs, I saw 2 sketchy guys standing there when 1 of them saw me & walked up to me & asked if I had a phone he could borrow. Yeah, like I'm going to hand over my iPhone so he could run off w/ it. I told him sorry, no and got on the elevator. At that point, I was nervous about staying here but it was too late to change & and I was leaving the next day. Came back to my room w/ food & again, the woman next door was standing in her open doorway looking out. Awkward. Noticed people hanging out on stairs, etc. It was obvious this place was a hang out for not so upstanding citizens. Have kids? DON'T STAY HERE.

Over all not a good experience. A one, if any, star property. Location, guests and property condition not what i had envisioned after what hotel potrayed on line. Way over priced.

This has to have been by far the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel, and I've stayed at some pretty bad dumps. We booked it solely based on the fact that it was close to the charter boat we were going to be taking early AM for our dive, and since we were only going to be sleeping there I figured how bad could it be. Well, I was wrong. This place is on the wrong side of the wrong side of the tracks. I'm not sure what was more disturbing, checking in at the bulletproof plexiglass window, the utter decrepit facade, or the fact that when we did finally get to our room, after waiting half an hour to check in, our keys did not work, and when we looked in through the window, the mattresses were turned up against the wall (no sheets), the chairs were turned on there sides, and the bathroom looked like it was in the processes of being deep cleaned, with cleaning supplies still in the sink. It seriously looked like something bad had happened and they were sill in the process of sanitizing the room. The worse part was that they did not want to give me my money back, they claimed it was not hotel policy. I had to threaten to report them, at which point they did a 180 and decided to give my money back, so we could go and stay at a different hotel. There are many nicer and actually less expensive places in the San Diego, which is only 10 minutes away from where we wanted to be. This was our bad choice, one we will not make again.

The receptionist was very kind, the hotel is close to sea world

1 - Check-in took more than one hour. It is my record to check-in a hotel. 2 - They mentioned breakfast was included in Orbitz listing but they just served a coffee and donuts. It is not breakfast.

We booked this room because it was the cheapest we could find to attend comicon. We did not expect it to be anything special and were not surprised at all by all the ugly outdated decor. None of that bothered us but there was a refrigerator that didnt work at all in the room. That was ok though because we didn't really need it however the shower was absolutely horrible. The water pressure was very poor so you felt like you could barely get clean and then it would constantly go back and forth between scalding hot and freezing cold without the other person in your room using any water which made the shower take even longer. The room was also extremely humid. We had the in wall a/c unit constantly cranked to try and combat it but the room was very uncomfortable.

Front desk person is nice. Manager is not too friendly. Room is newly renovated. Bathroom looks modern and ver spacious . Sheets are clean

Don't stay here. Rooms awful, smelled toxic. Front desk ladies had a serious attitude they did not want to help you at all

Was there three days. Of the three days police were there two. This place is like bum housing... Very shady place. Do not recommend even though the rooms inside are better then the buildings outside appearance.

Very close to sea world.. that was only criteria I had. But That was lesson learned.. overall bad rooms.. pastries are there breakfast

When I stayed, the lady who checked me in was friendly and welcoming. That was the entire highlight of my stay. When I entered my room, after passing up multiple intoxicated and seedy people on my way to the third floor, I was disgusted. I turn on the lights at a desk to have a roach scatter into the outlet. There were stains on the bedding and floor. I reconsidered my choice of stay, so I got on my phone. As I sat on the edge of the bed, another roach was crawling on the bedding. In the bathroom, there was another roach. Unfortunately, I was hours from home and too tired to keep looking for a room. I refused to lay on the bed and laid out some towels. I wore my coat to stay warm. I slept poorly as I checked the window locks whenever the next drunkard passed my room.

The hotel staff was very accomodating and nice. For the money you can't go wrong.

You pay for what you get. The room is outdated , tv barely works, fridge didn't work, shower was clogged. Overall was ok

There was excessive roaches. The carpets were stained throughout. Room and all outside smelt like weed. Not a clean not safe place.

Great location with a lot around it. Quick drive to most places in SD. Staff was nice. Room has a strange smell but appeared clean with fresh linens.

I was expecting everything to be same as in the pictures.the furniture in our room was old and broken. Please don't assume you would get proper breakfast since it is included with the stay, coffee and a donut/muffin is what you get. They have terrible Wifi, we could never get connected to Wifi. On complaining it to front desk we got to know that they are running full house and can do nothing about the wifi.

Good hotel close to everything you need friendly staffs

The room had a terrible smell of dampness. The staff were nice enough to move us to another room which was a little better. But overall it was not value for the money we paid.

I had really bad experience staying here, first of all, we are not in the lobby for checking in, it a walk up!, standing there feeling not at ease, bunches of weir people looking at you. Walk way is very dirty!, dirty room, security guard nockin at your door telling you to move your car, we ask who is nockin, he refuse to answer,,,,, over all it terrible!!! Please orbit take it out of your web,,, Disappointed customers

Orbitz said free breakfast but was just pastries. That was disappointing. The refrigerator was cold but the freezer (for my ice pack) was not cold enough We needed to request towels for 2nd night stay and the staff were very apologetic and helpful.
