We stayed in RM 111. Right across the laundry room so you can hear the machines running. Im starting to think hotels reserve the least favorable rooms for people who book from Orbitz or expedia, etc, especially when u get great deals ( less then what hotels would charge u through them hotels directly). Just my thought. We got to our hotel at around 5:30is pm. We had the hardest time getting two extra towels cuz each person would direct us to someone else. Each one would tell us no more clean towels so ask so and so. There were only my husband, myself and our 10yr child. So finally my husband said , "there are three of us and two towels. Who doesn't get to take a shower? ". Low & behold the guy from the office goes in the backroom and lugs out a large full of clean towels out. Huh! Three days before, I had requested two extra towels in our room. That request was obviously ignored. Why do they even have that option on the checkout website? Anyway, considering that the hotel we stayed at the night before was horrible this hotel was far better even if there were a few things I can gripe about it. But I'm going to overlook that because this was a better experience for us personally. At least the rooms didn't smell like urine or smoke. Here the room was very clean. I could smell bleach. Though, I always pull back the cover beds. Hotels don't wash them all the time. I saw a few questionable stains, but that's cuz I looked. Saw hairs on the blanket. Sheets were clean.

bed was comfortable. The toilet screamed when we flushed it. as well as everyone else's around us.

My son is a new US Marine and the hotel is close to Camp Pendleton so he made the reservation for me. The hotel is small and the Management is on-site. Our room was very clean and the sheets and towels were always very clean and smelled fresh. The night clerk, a young guy was friendly and helpful and kept the coffee fresh! The Manager was also friendly and had great suggestions for me and my son with regard to activities in the area. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and the folks they have working there, including the cleaning maid. I have already recommended it to some other Marine parents and will stay there again myself when visiting my son.

Even if they gave away the room, I would go elsewhere. It obvious the staff does not believe in customer retention and seeks the allure of the beach to attract customers.

The room smelled like sweat soon as I walked in. The furniture the phone everything so dirty. I would of preferred sleeping in my car then in that hotel again. The cleanliness of this hotel was so bad.

First of all no view of ocean at all. You are about 2 miles from the beach or the harbor. Not walking distance. Outside of hotel was dirty and needed a paint job. Terrace was old and overlooking the freeway. And the continental breakfast was a joke. Then I find out there isn't even a pool or Jacuzzi. This Inn & Suites is just a roadside motel.

Close to harbor and highway. A little noisy. Room are ok. Breakfast time kind of short. 7:30 to 9:30??

This motel was close to the beach, very convenient. I was disappointed: Cigarette butts on the patio & near our door in walkway broken patio furniture - several pieces Noisy guests- 3 am outside our room/ on patio Room phone was disconnected (no ring tone) when we tried to ask them to help move the noisy guests off the patio Breakfast could use healthier options: 2 sugary cereals, packets oatmeal, fruit, 2 kinds of bread, butter, jam. No protein options. Perhaps boiled eggs or peanut butter could be added?

This was my second stay at this hotel. The bed was more comfortable this time around. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean. My only complaint is that for the price they charge I expect more, a more comfortable bed, nicer looking rooms and a better continental breakfast selection.

Great place to stay. Close to everything. Has microwave oven and fridge in room. Walking distance to Denny's. Has free breakfast, kids like that. Also for smokers has a patio area. Great price for a weekend getaway on a budget. :-)

Nothing special, nothing wrong. Worked great for us for a one night stay.

The man that runs the hotel was really nice. The hotel pictures and other reviews were very deceiving. The pillows on the bed were washed, but covered in hair. Very noticeable also. The housekeeping had to have seen it. The tile floors were dirty , the comforter, and the shower water never drained when showering. If you like things clean and comfortable this is not the place for you.

The room was clean, the appliances need an update with regards to the coffee maker, television and a lack of power outlets. Do not get the room next to the staff laundry, the washer is constantly operating into the evening so it will drive you crazy. If you are gone most of the day, no problem. The one problem that will not go away is the interstate 5 noise. It would help if they could put up some type of barrier to block the noise. Staff was polite and helpful. If you are dead tired, you'll be okay and not much of a breakfast. Good luck

I Didnt Expect This Hotel To Be Fabulous From The Beginning. When Me & My Gf Walk In It Smells Like Smoke, The Bathroom Just Seemed Dirty, We Tried Turning The AC On & Wasnt Working. So I Played Around With It, Plugging It In & Out, i Finally Leave It Alone 15 Mins Later It Turns On. So That Was Good I Guess. Its Right Across The Street From Freeway So Expect It To Be Really Loud At Night. Kids Were Running Up & Down The Outside Hall Being Loud & Trying To Open Our Door Around 11 Pm. Where The Parents Were Dont Ask!

My husband is in training at Camp Pendleton, Del mar. The hotel was the cheapest and closest to the base. The hotel does offer military discounts if you call them directly. But The hotel was Decent enough to stay in. The bed was comfy and the room was much bigger than most of the other hotels I have stayed at. Employees were nice and let me check in early. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Facility was very average and older. Located adjacent to a major So. Cal. freeway it was very noisy.

The location for this hotel was great but the hotel itself was less than appealing. We stayed just one night which was ok for this type of hotel but I would not spend a whole lot of time in it since it just was not comforting.

This motel is in a great location for activities in Oceanside, Beach, and Camp Pendleton. We impromptu stayed after dinner on New Year's Eve 2010. When writing reviews, I try to consider the price, and at $79.00, this seems in line now a days, with what we received. The stay was ok, but don't expect a whole lot because you will be disappointed. There is the most basic of everything available, including mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, blow dryer, and iron and board. Our room also had a small table and a couple chairs. The Room was Small with one queen bed. Also note, this motel is right by the freeway, and the noise is inescapable. That said, it didn't bother us. I Reserved a NON-Smoking Roon. We are very sensitive to Cigarette Smoke, and our room REAKED of stale smoke, the scent of which, we took home with us. IF this is a problem for you, I'd suggest you call ahead or VERIFY you won't have this problem. They are generous with TV channels, and FREE Internet, but the "breakfast" is NOT a breakfast. At 8am, I walked down to pick up a few things for our "Complimentary" breakfast, which was limited to coffee, cereal and plate of packaged sweet rolls.. There may have been a couple apples in a bowl as well. IT was free so I've learned not to expect much for free. Overall, in a pinch, I would come back, but, this Travelodge did not impress enough to keep me from looking at alternatives before making a reservation in that area again,(which will probably be next New Year's Eve).

This hotel was reasonably priced and the room was comfortable. The hotel is a little old and needs some updating but is still good for a short stay. The hotel is near the freeway so highway noise is always present, this didn't bother me but might some. I was going to the recent mud run at Camp Pendleton so the hotel's location just down the street from the base entrance was a great plus as it took a minute to get to the base entrance.
