Everyone was friendly and helpful!! We were there for MCRD graduation, and would stay here again it I was to go back to CA.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to base, the airport, and within walking distance to restaurants. We had considered billetting on base for the experience, but the anxiety about rooming without AC in August convinced us to seek the comfort of a hotel. The staff at Fairfield Inn were wonderful. Everyone was concerned about our satisfaction. I had a few personal problems while there and they were very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast provided choices for us all. The location was safe and convenient for strolling Old Town and grabbing dinner. We were able to see the fireworks from Sea World each night at 9:50 while sitting at the pool. We Ubered anywhere we wanted to visit as tourists very cheaply (avg. $8 for family of 3) with about 10 minute drives just about anywhere- Misson Beach, La Jolla, Coronado, Downtown, Little Italy, etc. It really was a good choice of hotel. Pat me on the back for research and planning well! We had a couple of minor problems while staying at the Fairfield Inn that the front desk was apologetic for and attempted to resolve. First, we had a smoker somewhere nearby and apparently shared ventilation with him/her. It started about 3 a.m., but thankfully they checked out the next morning. The front desk brought in an Ozone machine to help clear the stink and I opened the windows. Second there was a fermented bottle of OJ in the minifridge freezer. To make up for this they comped all of our incidentals- $$$ in drinks. :)

The staff were extremely nice and super helpful! The free breakfast and airport shuttle put this hotel over my expectations. The rooms were spacious and cleaned very well! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near the airport but not too close!

Staff was not friendly . The bed was very uncomfortable and the room not very clean . The room smelled like mildew . The walks are thin and you could hear people partying throughout the night . The worst of it all was the underground parking !

We booked through a third party. We booked a king bed room with a couch bed. We have two kids. When we got the we were told very rudely that the site we booked through was wrong and there was not a couch bed and that they have had problems with third party bookings. The desk staff basically was telling us we should not have booked through the site we used and if we had gone through the Marriott site this would not have happened. I have never been allowed to book a one bed room for 4 people. I use different booking sites all the time and stay in hotels about 30 nights a year. The desk staff was extremely obnoxious and I would not deal with this hotel again. It also makes me not want to use this hotel chain again if that is the way they treat people who do not use their websites.

I booked this room due to downtown being sold out for San Diego Comic Con. I'd been to Old Town in the past and really liked it. Our room at the Fairfield Inn was super clean, the facilities are charming, and the continental breakfast, though redundant, was good. My only complaint about my entire experience at this hotel was how horrible the toiletries were. They use the cheapest soap I've ever encountered. I've stayed at places that were $48 a night on Route 66 in the middle of the southwest desert with better soap and shampoo than this. There was no lotion. If I'd known it was going to be this bad, I would have brought my own. So, I'm warning you before you check in here, be prepared to head to the store and get soap, shampoo, and lotion. Other than that, our stay was perfect. It is 0.7 miles to the trolley which is an easy walk unless you have physical impairments, and there is great food in the area. Super safe neighborhood as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely. It was a quiet getaway from the convention.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes or so from downtown, where I had business meetings. For the money, the room was nice and fairly quiet. Nice restaurants and shopping just a minute away. The hotel staff were responsive, helpful and friendly.

On the way to Old Town we stopped for drinks, lunch and desert. Many places to choose from and always good service. We loved the many shops, they showed off the Mexican and American Cultures. They had some unique and interesting things. We love strolling through Old Town every time we are in San Diego. The Hotel was near the Airport, Down Town and the Cruise Terminal. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will stay there again.

The hotel was within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops in Old Town and near the main location of the Old Town Trolley. We did not have a car during our visit, so it was very helpful to have walking access to these points.

Excellent location, walking distance to all the great restaurants in Old Town!

we had a great time. all shops and restaurants were just a short walk away.

Nice location. Close to MCRD, and Old Towne. Very friendly area.

This hotel was an excellent value in San Diego. Located in Old Town with lots of fun restaurants and shops, as well as an historic park make this a great area to visit with kids. Not far from the zoo, the beach and Sea World as well. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel in San Diego.

This hotel was comfortable and completely adequate for a few nights. The price is reasonable and it is still located close to most things. I like the fact that it is located far enough away from the interstate that noise is not an issue (I find this to be a major problem with many of the hotels in the comparably-priced hotel circle area.) Very nice spread at breakfast. Loved the free internet access.

The Holiday INN Express in Old Town San Diego is perfect because its close to the airport, old town San Diego and its an exit away from Sea World. The room had enough space for us and it was walking distance from great restaurants. My only issue was check in time was at 4:00pm. I would have preferred a noon time check in.

Old Town San Diego is a nice area to stay in if you are looking for old time California Charm. There are several ethnic/Mexican restraunts that have home made appeal to them. The Holiday Inn is perfectly located to the area and is conveniently located to the San Diego International Airport. Overall, this was a great experience. And for the price you can't beat. The Great Start breakfast offer lots of varieties of food and very tasty.
