El Cordova Hotel on Coronado Island

Great spot that is close to shops and restaurants in Coronado. Only downfall is there is a bit too much noise coming from the restaurant. But, that restaurant can be a benefit too as it is on the property and has a great outdoor patio.

The staff went above and beyond to make all their guests happy. They let us into the pool area even after we'd checked out to spend the afternoon. They made sure our parking pass would reflect the duration of our stay, not just when we were checked into the hotel.

Great !!!!comfoetable easy access to shops and beach

Unbelievably noisy, should have been a disclaimer about this. Located above a restaurant where noise only ends late at night and starts up early in the morning (cleaning, etc.). Walls must be paper thin, can hear every word in adjacent rooms. No free parking on site.

We booked a one bedroom suite and weren't disappointed at all. The location is just across from the Del Coronado Hotel and beach. Some of the rooms are close to a Mexican restaurant that's right next door, so noise can sometimes be a concern. You will have to find parking as the hotel has no lot. They do offer parking for $20 just around the corner, or you can do as we did and park in one of the neighborhoods nearby. We definitely would return to this hotel, but would ask for a room away from the restaurant.

The first room we got was below par. Had mold in the ceiling of the closet. We were then moved to a much better room. Clean and roomy but very outdated. Staff was great. Love the location.

Room 19 is right next to their restaurant. Very noisy in the evening and in the morning.

WAS A PLEASANT SURPRISE WE REALLY ENJOYED THE HOTEL AND AREA

Good hotel for the purposes of this trip-convenient.

El Cordova was great, and my stay (3 nights for a conference at the Hotel Del Coronado) was very pleasant. The rooms are spacious and have a separate dining/kitchen area. The staff was great, and overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room was spacious and clean. Kitchen was perfect - gas stove top! The location was perfect! Right in the middle of everything, within walking distance of grocery stores and the ferry to San Diego. Loved it!

The hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful to any request or need. Miguel's was a wonderful spot for dinner just steps from our door and made every evening welcoming. We would definately stay here again.

My girlfriend and her two kids and I spent a very enjoyable night quite recently at the Cordova Hotel. It's right across from the Coronado Hotel. As busy and as hectic as the downstairs area is (restaurant, etc.) it was very quiet at night. I thought the noise might keep us up, however it didn't. The staff could be a bit more attentive, however I would go back there.

Wonderful hotel with a lot of character. Our friends stayed at the Del which was a lot more expensive. This hotel is right across the street. Even though there was hotel particular parking we were able to find a place on the street quite easily. We stayed in the one bedroom suite, it was like a small apartment, fully furnished and with dishes and cookware.

We were there for two nights and wanted to be close to the beach. The place has a lot of character and history. There is a restaurant mixed in throughout the hotel, and I could hear a lot of noise in my room, but I carry earplugs so it wasn't a problem anyway. The restaurant closes at 10PM and opens at lunchtime, so it wasn't a big deal to us. The food at Miguels was good, so at least you can have a nice meal in the courtyard right outside your room. It is a short stroll down the street for whatever your needs or if you want to go to the beach, it is right there by the Hotel Del Coronado across the street.

I don't have time to write a full review, but the staff at El a Cordova absolutely blew us away, so they simply must be acknowledged. I don't think I have ever had such a positive experience with a hotel. We had plenty of complicated issues that came up in our travels, and it didn't matter which clerk we worked with; every single staff member went out of their way to make our stay special. Everything else was great too. Phenomenal location, great ambiance, nice room, comfy bed, etc., but the quality of service is what made this place an unbelievably great place to stay.

The room and staff was great! I felt I paid too much for the itty bitty room but I realize it's about location

Great location on Coronado Island within walking distance to beach and restaurants, great value.

This hotel was perfect for our little family getaway. The hotel is a Spanish Style, in the perfect location. It is across the street from the famous Hotel. My husband and I were looking for a budget friendly yet clean Hotel. I'm so glad we stumbled on this one on an advisory travel website. We were allowed early checkin and late checkout. When we got to the Hotel we asked for a bottom floor room because we have a 9 month old and didn't want to hassle the stairs. They didn't have any available yet they did upgrade us to a suite, which was perfect for us (living room, kitchen, stove, fridge). The stairs weren't too bad because hubby and I took turns to get our things up and down, the staff kindly helped us transport our things up and down also. Not a lot of stairs, just one flight. The room was clean and smelled great. The pool was right outside our room as well. The noise level was low and the bedroom was in great condition. The location of the room was perfect, it was just about 2 blocks from the beach. A lot of shops were right down the main street (Orange) as well. A well known Creamery was just a few feet away as well, great Ice Cream shop. The negatives were that yes the doors we're weather proofed it seemed, small openings of light peered through. I just put a towel at the bottom of the door and it was good.

Spanish mission style rooms surrounding a courtyard. The rooms were well equipped and the set up is charming. Our first night was in a one bedroom suite with kitchenette right off the courtyard. It had a sleeper sofa in the living area. Perfect for kids. We moved to a deluxe room upstairs for the second night due to the hotel being sold out. (I was aware of the change when I booked.) The room was a deccent size, but nothing compared to the suite. Our friends stayed in the same hotel. Their room was a one bedroom suite with kitchenette upstairs from the lobby. Total different from the suite we had the first night. It was huge! It would appear that all the room are different. Apparently, the roomyou get depends on how early you book the hotel. Will stay again because of the location and the great staff!
