We were a family of six --- our adult daughter and three of our grandkids joined us for a two-day visit to San Diego County. We wanted an inexpensive but clean and reliable place to stay near the San Diego Safari Park -- and this place worked. Furniture has seen better days but bed was comfortable. Breakfast was more complete than one normally finds. Staff members were all pleasant and helpful. And the price was right! Nothing fancy but it filled the bill!
We stayed at this hotel in September, having chosen it at random. We stayed for four nights, plenty of time to get a feel for the accommodations, services, and staff. This is a great place to stay! We were so impressed first with the friendliness and efficiency of the reservation clerk when we called to make the reservation. Then when we got there, a friendly and helpful staff behind the counter. The public spaces were so clean and pleasant, the room fresh and clean. Each day the housekeeping staff left us a spotless room. The free breakfast is generous, fresh, and delicious. The location is also incredibly convenient, right next to the freeway (but not noisy in the hotel), and right next to high quality fast food restaurants for dinner, and a shopping center down the road for picking up things you forgot to pack, or want to have. We were pleased to get the chance to meet the owner at the front desk when we left. He is a proud owner of this hotel, and you know he's going to keep it nice for guests. If we ever need to be in Escondido again, we would not hesitate to stay here again. (The only thing I'd add is that someone needs to pick up trash daily in the hotel parking lot...it's sad that people litter, and shame on them, but the trash gets thrown down so someone ought to go out periodically and pick it up...otherwise, you couldn't ask for a cleaner hotel!)
First of all, I want to say the staff is awesome, front desk, dining room, housekeeping, groundskeeper, all friendly and helpful. Ok, so we decided to do a mini tour of our favorite breweries. I had scoped out the closest hotel to most of them. This hotel was the one. We arrived on Friday evening Nov. 10, I had called earlier to tell them that we were going to be late to check in, the front desk noted it down and said to take our time. No worries. I could hear the Smile over the phone. Our check in was smooth and quick. We were told that the hotel was "smoke free", there was a complimentary breakfast served every morning from 6am to 10am, we also had complimentary WiFi and snacks in our room. Our room was on the 3rd floor and easy to find. The elevator was a bit small with the luggage carrier and two people but we managed the short trip. This hotel has inside corridors, the hotel was extremely quiet in the hallways. Our room was impeccable (King Bed), clean, roomy and comfortable. The bed was a Beauty Rest with Pillow top, COMFORTABLE!!! There was a small fridge and microwave, both clean and working. The Flat Screen TV was a Samsung, incredible color! There was a sofa, a desk, side tables, they are a little outdated but gave the room a nice quaint feel. We also had a small balcony which was great in the evening for a brew and some appetizers, the cool breeze was an added joy. The room was equipped with a coffee maker, coffee, water bottles, snacks. The bathroom was your usual small room but very, very clean. Lots of towels were available. The toilet had a great flush. The shower had good water pressure. Considering the room faced the main highway and the 15 FWY was nearby, the room was basically sound proof from the outside once you closed the sliding glass door. Room was equipped with a Smart tower for charging your tablet, phone or other devices. The Air Conditioner was very very good and chilly. I have to sleep with the AC because of my COPD condition, I need cool air. We slept like a baby. If you were hungry, they had snack machines on every floor along with the ice and soda machines. You could always venture out across the small parking lot to Del Taco, In N Out burger, Burger King, Pieology, Coco's or 7-11. Across the main street you had many more stores and restaurants, along with the Escondido Fashion Center. As far as the distance to the breweries, they were all within 10-15 mins from the hotel, Stone Brewing, Port Brewing/Lost Abbey, San Marcos, Ballast Point (scripps). Review on the complimentary breakfast: DELICIOUS!!! Usually when a hotel says complimentary breakfast you expect some donuts, muffins and coffee. Well they had some of those but this breakfast is a full blown "everything you can eat" fare. A list of items: Cheese Omelets /Bacon / Sausage patties / Scrambled Eggs Make you own Waffles with a variety of batters and syrups. Biscuits N Gravy A variety of cereals, oatmeal, granola, fruits, danishes, croissants, muffins Good hot coffee, teas, orange juice, milk There was so many things to choose from, I'm sure I probably missed some items. The dining room staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and always a Smile! The hotel also had laundry facilities on every floor, our room had an iron and board. There is a small business area in the main lobby with computers, printer, etc. They have several meeting rooms. Complimentary coffee and water in the lobby. Overall my husband and I were so impressed with the great Customer Service we received. It is so difficult to find it these days. We will definitely be back for our "brewery tour" next year, if not sooner. Thank you to all the staff !! We had a great time !!
Great. Place to stay friendly staff great breakfast Always ask how your day was and is there anything they can help you with the have a nice pool and jacuzzi they have a large maps of places to visit in the area
The Comfort Inn is conveniently located near the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. It is also right off the 15 and close to the 78. Staff were very accommodating, rooms and public rooms all very clean and neat. Hot breakfast had many choices of either hot or cold foods. Had a pool and gym which we did not use but looked nice. Also had a laundry on the 3rd floor - again we did not use but nice to know is there.
The beds were comfortable but the walls are really thin...heard a fight REAL CLEAR in the next room. Also the elevator is so small that it only fits the luggage cart and 2 people. The rooms are cooled well but the hallways and lobby are really warm..A/C not working properly. The Staff was real pleasant and helpful when we requested to move our room due to the fighting going on in the room. It is loacted near a lot restaurants, which is nice but it is a very busy intersection right next to freeway.
Every time I'm in San Diego/Escondido, I always go to the comfort inn on valley parkway. They are so nice, they make you feel comfortable. Very clean, the rooms are big and nice. I recommend going here if you are ever in Escondido.
The image is accurate of my stay. A broke toilet and broken plunger and a roach. So many other bad things but I've expended enough energy just being here. The bed is fine and the room reeks of bleach - 2 stars cause you can sleep here.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. General Manager/Owner Raj? Roge? would not match the rate I booked the hotel for. I booked the hotel for 1 night at $129, and ended up getting charged $204+tax for the night. He would not match the online price, and wouldn't even match the price that was quoted when I called earlier that day! The other staff was kind and apologetic, my stay was fine, and the facilities were clean, but the GM's awful customer service and rude attitude completely ruined my trip. When I called their corporate line, I was told there was nothing they could do. I will be finding another rewards program and another hotel next time I am in Escondido.
Raj, I want to thank you for everything all your employees thank you ladies for being so kind, helpful, and so generous to me I appreciate your team keep up the great customer service that what makes me keep coming back to stay Inn Love,Ms.Mary
