Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town

Wonderful staff. Every member was helpful and welcoming. The property is quite a rabbit-warren as there are many levels and buildings - easy to lose your bearings but interesting and unique with nice views. The room (707) was a bit cramped, but sufficient for a quick stay and I was grateful they assigned me an easy access level when they saw how much luggage I had! One block off the main drag of Old Town, very walk-able and 10-15 min from the airport (taxi there, took their shuttle back - easy) - they have a charged parking garage for drivers.

Location of this hotel really weird. You need to walk a lot. We need to take three different elevators in order to go to our room. Parking is $19 per day and the space is really really limited. I will never visit this hotel again. I'd spend less money living out of old town unless you need to spend nights in bars there. Facilities are pretty old in room. Hotel staff was not pretty helpful. Wifi in room was broken and we need to call to repair it.

Great view from our room. Very clean comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Very warm and welcoming. Quiet rooms. Good Location.

The hotel is awesome. The flowers and setting is amazing. Wonderful views. The staff was very friendly. Old Town is just a few steps away with all kinds of cute shops and restaurants. I stay in SD about 10 times a year. This is my new "go to".

My check in time was at 4pm. But some ppl checked in at 3pm? Cause I used orbitz? Also at 4:26 when I tried checking in again, they told me "my" room wasn't ready yet? But the couple next to me with the same kind of room could check in? Why? Cause I used orbitz?

Loved the location of the hotel. Close enough to great locations to visit, but far enough from city noise. I'm a light sleeper and this is why I chose this hotel. Next time I'm in San Diego I will stay there.

Lots of shops and restaurants to experience - all within EZ walking distance! The hotel room that I stayed in was OK - but it was a handicap access room. I wasn't told or asked whether that would be OK when I was registering - that's frustrating. Also, the hotel property is a maze - if you don't know where you are going, well.... good luck finding your room in less than 15 minutes! The Tequila Factory restaurant is pretty much a waste of time - needs a major interior overhaul unless you like the 70's look. BTW - the breakfast buffet was truly mediocre. The coffee was like battery acid and the food looked like it was sitting there for about 4 hours.

The hotel was very nice, had trouble finding the elevator to go to the Mexican restaurant, food was very good and liked having the vouchers for the drinks. Wake up call was on time and our driver was there to take us to the airport.

Front desk was very helpful and the "Old Spanish" style of the hotel is great!

Excellent staff and the hotel is so beautiful, the only problem was I couldn't find my room. The directions were confusing.

Damp, smelly. Old beat up furniture. Uncomfortable bed. Small, dated bathroom.

This is a great location in Old Town. Most things are walking distance from the hotel room. The rooms are clean and with a lot of room. The staff is very friendly.

I have been staying here for years. The room was generally clean, but one problem. The carpet is in bad shape and don't take your shoes off inside. My kids and I repeatedly had to clean our feet because they kept turning black from the dirt or grime on the carpet. King suite rooms. We had this same problem in a similar room about 5 years ago also. It's hard when you don't want to touch the floor. Everything else was fine. Staff was good.

Great location. The hotel was ideally located near old town San Diego. The on site amenities were great for a family traveling with a child .

I've stayed at this hotel many times already. And I always have enjoyed my stay except for these last two times. The 1st time the pool was closed down. There was no where noted on the website until I got there and requested to be by the pool. This past weekend a group of us got rooms and we advised we had to take a detour to get to building 6 to park there and low and behold parking was full.... Then we called the front office and they advised us to take the detour again and park in the other parking lot. They should have know it was full being as they know how many guest where in that building..... Everyone was upset and disappointed and were surprised I even recommend that we stay there..... The hotel should advise guest that there's construction!

Stayed here for a weekend. Very convenient location to Old Town. Friendly staff.

This is the only place I stay when I am in San Diego. Love the location, you can do a lot in walking distance. The rooms are always ready and clean. The staff is great! I've stayed here several times for the past 5 years and yes, I always recommend this place to friends and family.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We had a room in building 6 with a city/bay view which was nice because we were able to watch the fireworks over the bay from our balcony. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The only problem I found was parking. The small garage for building 6 was always full. I tried parking in the garage near the restaurant, but found it small and the corners rather tight when encountering another car coming in my direction. Because I use a handicap space, I ended up parking in the lower part of the garage by the lobby. Great space, but then had to take a long walk and a couple of elevators to get to our room. Not happy with that and then having to pay for parking on top of it. Might not got back just for that reason.

Motel is in a great location, steep hill though. We walked all around Old Town day and evening. Building 6 is a pain when the elevator is not working, which was for our whole visit. We suspect that the rooms more center of the compound would be quieter, too. Nice pool and workout room, you will need that after all the good food you can find nearby.
