So although this wasn't my first choice, I really enjoyed my stay because of the friendly staff and how close it was to the places I wanted to visit (Gaslamp, Seaport, Little Italy). I ended up parking my car and just using a Lyft at night ($3-$5). The walk was usually about 1 mile, which wasn't bad at all. The rooms were a little small, but we were fine with it because we weren't planning on spending our day in the hotel to begin with. They also provide complimentary breakfast, which was also a plus!

You get what you pay for. Its a nice hotel for the money! No complains here.

the place had a different kind of feel. the additional details parking ($15/night) was not a good surprise when checking out. If I had caught the fact that it was not included, I probably would have booked elsewhere.

Nice, clean small complex, had to pay for parking, it's great if you want to walk to Petco park or the Gaslamp Quarter.

Good value for downtown San Diego. Walking distance to Gaslamp district. Very clean room, if a little small. Comfortable bed and bedding. Pleasant experience.

The rooms are rather small. Our bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. Parking was available for every guest but at a $15 charge. The hotel is close by the Gas District and with easy access to the freeway. The facility is well maintained although the walkway upstairs is a bit slanted (about 2 degrees) at the stairwell location - not much of a problem. The hotels provides a modest continental breakfast (6 to 10 a.m.), which saves time in the morning as there are no restaurants in the area. The hotel staff was very helpful in providing directions to attractions.

I went down to SD for a show at the globe and just wanted a cheap room for the night so I didn't have to drive all the way back to LA. I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a great stay, the rooms were clean, spacious and the location was perfect. We ended up just leaving the car there and just used uber to get around so we didn't have to worry about parking.

For the price this hotel was nice, clean, staff was very friendly and close" walking distance 15 min" to gas lamp district. Overall I would stay there again.

We walked to every place we wanted form this Hotels location. We all agreed nice place to stay.

Very close to the gaslamp I was two times there and it was almost: Clean Cheep Good

It wasn't dirty at all, which was my main concern. Staff was nice, nothing special. Location is very close to the gas lamp district, which was nice. It was what I expected for the price i paid.

Great location to the zoo, gaslamp district and Petco field if you like baseball.

Good location close to public transportation. Easy walk to many places or just hop on the trolley. We planned on using public transportation so this location was great. Only disappointment was we stayed on the first floor, room 112, and the floor above squeaked. So, every time the people walked around in the room it was very noisy and annoying.

Had a great experience. The room was clean and cozy feeling. A good place to return to after running around San Diego. Would recommend.

A very clean and tidy little B W with comfortable small rooms and new furniture and bathroom fixtures, good TV and fairly quiet for mid city. Good lighting and security cameras for parking area. Free WiFi in rooms, and computer in lobby. Helpful and friendly staff, and carried our bags to 2nd floor. Breakfast OK with some hot food, good coffee. Good directions, dinner suggestions for Gas Light Village and local map. Floor squeaked a bit; might be a problem down stairs, but not for us. Lots of well tended flowers and shrubs. Nice place. Very cozy. Nothing spectacular, but very clean. The free breakfast is a nice touch too.

No frills upscaled motel located in DT SD. Decent value ($144), but book early, prices go up quick. Rooms are a little small, and sink was dirty upon check-in. Also, $10 per night parking not advertised in price. Overall, fair value. I would recommend to a friend looking for a cheaper price, but there might be better overall values even if you pay a little more.

Booked my room based on several factors. I was looking for a hotel in Dontown San Diego that had parking, breakfast and in room amenities like fridge, etc. Thought the pictues posted online looked cozy and added a homey feel to the property. All my needs were met. Hotel parking was only $10/day--way better than the $20-40 other, larger hotels were charging. Free Continental breakfast was mostly ready at 6am--great becasue I was in SD for a race and wanted to get some food in me before I went to the start line. Most hotels have breakfast at 7am, so pleased to find out I could take advantage of the food. Staff were friendly at check-in and saw them sweeping the courtyard/parking lot to keep it immaculate. Room was what you would expect for a Best Western of that age and size, but my friend and I had plenty of room. The room looked recently refurbished with clean carpet and newish bedding and the (small) bathroom had new tile, fixtures, glass shower and rainfall showerhead and good water pressure. Location is just north of the GasLamp district, so you get a great short walk to restaurants/nightlife without having to be disturbed by traffic and revelers in the wee hours of the morning. Best surprise feature was all the plants in pots and planters around the courtyard. My friend, a gardener, was speechless at the size, variety and colorfulness of all the plants. If you have ever stayed in a hotel with dead palms or bushes in the planters and felt depressed because of it,you will certainly appreciate all the flowers and succulents around the offices and rooms. Also a small viewing deck on top of the roof with more plants for meditation and quiet time. Would definitely stay here again!

Staff were friendly and very helpful and always available. Location is good - easy walk to downtown and Convention Centre. Quiet. Breakfast good self serve - adequate though room a bit crowded at times. the room is spacious except for the bathroom which is small with NO counter space. Clean and well cared for. Overall my only complaint is that this hotel is overpriced for what it offers. At 30% less - I would heartily recommend it for the cost conscious traveler who still wants basic comfort and good service.

The rooms are quite "cozy" (a wee bit tight & small, especially the bathrooms), however the staff is quite friendly and accomodating. We were surprised to find no fan in the tiny bathroom, as the opening of the equally tiny window was not terribly efficient in clearing out the dampness of the shower. The room was clean, if compact. The walls were the traditionally non-soundproof type. The complimentary breakfast was unexpected hearty & replete with enough choices to please most any tastes. The grounds and roof garden are pleasant respites of green in the midst of a cityscape- a succulent lovers haven! The small fridge was nice to have, and the small market across the street made for a handy(if overpriced) snack/wine/essentials run.Parking was $10/day, which compared to other locations is low, but really--there should be no charge to guests for parking in the Inn lot--perhaps it would seem friendlier to add a couple dollars to the room price, and not charge separate for prkng.
