We have relatives nearby and were in town for a big birthday party. Things changed and we decided to spend time away from all the noise and the day's activities. We arrived very late from an out-of-town high school football game and were quickly greeted by the overnight desk clerk. She quickly took care of the check-in so that we could get started on our rest. Even though the hotel is in close proximity to railroad tracks, we did not hear and thing on either night. Yet the hotel was so close to everything that we needed: restaurants, service stations, shopping, and even our relatives. We will continue to use this hotel during any future trips to San Benito, TX.

Great location close to the New Years party and great staff.

The staff was excellent at the Best Western in San Benito. They made me feel comfortable & welcomed. Whenever I needed a question answered or needed assistance with any thing, they were there to help immediately. I would most definitely return to this Best Western location!

We had stayed at this hotel before so had no reservation about staying again. People were friendly at the front. We got to the room and they are big but not clean. The towels were used by someone before us. They had makeup powder hand prints on them. Not just one either. When we went to take a shower you had to clean the tub first. There was leftover black residue left from a construction worker or something. And then to top it off I go to get in our king size bed and there is a spill, not a stain, spill of tea or a light coke. So now I know that on top of not putting out clean towels or cleaning an obvious dirty tub they just remake a dirty bed also. Ewww!

I stayed here 6 nights during the RGV Birding Festival. The room was much bigger than I expected and was very clean. Upon arrival, it seemed that the toilet was leaking and constantly running but was fixed the next day without me having to say anything! The staff was very nice. The maids came by everyday, although sometimes fairly late so I just told them what I needed and they were more than happy to supply it. The location is pretty busy, but it's right next to the highway with easy access. The Wifi is very spotty. I missed out on the continental breakfast so perhaps when the birding festival is happening they can accommodate for those needing to leave the hotel before 6am. Otherwise this was a very enjoyable stay.

This hotel was everything that you could want in a room. It was comfortable, clean, in a good location and a great price.

everything was good. but why did you get rid of the hot breakfast? you should get it back. that was one reason we stayed there and location.

front desk clerk was very welcoming, friendly with a big smile on her on her face. breakfast was very good, the big Texas waffle was very good. We will use the same hotel again.

A great location - near freeways. Breakfast pretty bare bones, but OK. Nice courtyard!

Everything was ok. The room was very big and clean. The location was nice from south padre.

Room a/c heat thermostat could use upgrade. With technology available today they still use "turn knob to blue for cold, red for heat....c'mon man give me a thermostat, set it on 72 and make the room comfortable.

Skip this joint--stained sheets, broken door, battered lamp shade..New carpet and remodeled bath, but Lipstick on a pig is still a pig. Not even 5 minutes west in Harlingen is a newer, MUCH cleaner and MUCH nicer Best Western and priced just right. That's where we all (4) transferred to. I travel all over and have stayed in some marginal places, but this took the cake. Travel west a bit--5 minutes might save you some bugs.

I planned the weekend in San Benito becuase it was less expensive than being on So Padre Island. We arrived late fri around 8pm or so from driving 6hrs. We figured resting the first night would be best. We turn on the a/c unit & we notice HUGE beeatles and grasshoppers around the bottom of unit. We shoo them out the door but then start noticing more behind the couches. then my son walks by the small fridge & he sees roaches crawling out from around and behind it! Then i'm so grossed out that I wanted to check the beds to make sure there were no bugs, well there was! When I turned down the sheets, I see tiny black spiders crawling from under the pillows!. I could not believe it!I called front desk & they just told me that these bugs come in when the door is left open too long so she asked me to not keep it open. I told them there's no way that from 8pm to 9:30 all these bugs made their way in. I didn't keep the door open for 1hr1/2. Not to mention there was a huge spider's web on the corner of wall where there were dead bugs caught in the web. She sounded like she didn't believe it. I told her to come check our room to see for herself that this was just unacceptable. She was no help. [...]

The only part that I enjoyed about this hotel was that there was a room available in such short notice. Upon arriving into our rooom we were greeted by roaches, crickets, beetles, spiders, and flies. Not only did we have a infestation of insects but the front desk didnt even offer to lend us bug spray so we had to buy our own, they said the bugs came in bc we were opening the doors this wasnt the case bc upon opening the door for the first time we saw the first roach. They didnt even offer to move us to another room. The nozzle for the water on the bathtub was broken, there was sand on the floor in the restroom and bathtub, the fridge didnt stay cold had a nasty smell the AC kept turning off. This was not a pleasant stay at all.

The check in was awful and took over an hour with the staff arguing about the preagreed upon fee. The rooms were dirty and had cockroaches. The gym equipment did not work. They need to clean up their act. The are the only hotel in town but should not act like it.
