Our daughter is a member of the vacation club and she reserved two rooms - one for my husband and I and the other for her and her daughters. The room was very nice. Bed was comfortable, two sink areas were convenient and good space for 2 people. We only used the refrigerator in the kitchen which was very convenient. Really glad we didn't have to go on the tour and presentation for the vacation club - there were lots and lots of people doing this. The valet parking was expensive but the valets were extremely efficient and hard-working. Lots of construction around the hotel currently which was fairly noisy during work days.
We took our kids here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the 1 bedroom deluxe and it was more than enough space for us. The king size bed was amazing; super comfortable and the pillows were perfect. I have a special pillow that I take with me but I didn't need to use it. I like the extra sink in the bedroom. We weren't crowding each other. Every room had a balcony. My kids liked the game room and the swimming pools. I'm glad they cater to every size. They have three 2 foot pools. Perfect for my little one. There is a HEB right across the street so perfect for groceries if you want to cook (we did). They also offered different beverages in the lobby, tea, water, peach tea and even had snow cones one day. You can walk to the RiverWalk from here. They also offer a free shuttle service to different locations so you don't have to pay to park every where you go. They only offer valet which is $22 a day. It only took them 5 minutes to get our car so make sure to call ahead. If you are checking out at a busy time it will take longer. Just a reminder this is a timeshare location. So yes you will have to sit and listen to the presentation if you want to stay here at the low price. They are doing construction in the area but we didn't hear anything so we weren't bothered. We will definitely be staying here again soon.
Not a great experience. We reported roaches in the shower and the front desk was not very responsive to our situation. On a separate occasion, our smoke alarm went off for no reason and the stove did not work. Also, there is a “courtesy shuttle” on site, but only if you are willing to sit through a sales pitch. Thanks, but I don’t think we will be back.
We've stayed here twice(10 years apart). Most recently we stayed here with our teenagers. Still a nice place to stay. Easy walking distance to the Riverwalk as well as the cathedral light show. We even walked to the Alamo & Guenther House restaurant(and it was 100 degrees out) Agree with others valet parking expensive & given there is alot of construction all around the resort, no real place to park on your own. Room was clean although we did have issues in our bathroom with towel bar falling off. Could tell wasn't installed correctly. Washer squealed during half it's cycle. Dryer even on driest setting took 2 more rounds to dry. Those probably need looked at or replaced. My kids did love fact we had a 3 bedroom and all 3 rooms had their own bathroom. :) We also had a balcony view facing river. Staff was friendly.
We booked a suite for 8 people...they put us in a two bedroom suite that was supposed to be for 6 people. When we arrived they only had valet parking that is $21 a night. Since they messed up and put us in a smaller room they would only valet one car. We had brought two vehicles since there were 8 of us. The other car had to be parked somewhere else (not at the condo.) The room was nice but too small for our group.
The Wyndham LaCascada was very nice. The staff was very helpful especially George Tipton. He went above and beyond to make our vacation wonderful! The resort location was perfect. We loved the Riverwalk, it was so unique. The hop on hop off bus was great! The Japanese Tea Garden was beautiful and free! The San Antonio zoo was great!
This resort adjoins the famous RiverWalk but is in a very quiet neighborhood. The amenities are great, very clean room and extremely responsive staff. Nice size HEB grocery store within walking distance.
Parking meters are only enforced from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and I saw meter enforcement two of the five days we were there. One block south of the hotel (Woodward St) has meters for .30 cents an hour. Two blocks south is also the same, but Dwyer charges $1.80 an hour. Almost all of the meters are open after 6:00 pm and it's free until you pay in the morning. You can pay by credit card and park all day for $3.00. If you don't want to stay all day, you have to charge a 4 hour minimum but it only costs a buck. We used our car often so we just returned to Woodward St everyday after 6:00 and paid the meter in the morning waiting for the kids to wake up. The hotel also has 15 minute parking in their lot so you can drop off or load bags and people.
This is a very pleasant property located on a pretty branch of the river. We walked everywhere and enjoyed all the city had to offer. The RCI staff claims to be the "concierge" and rope you into a boiler room sales presentation in order to get use of the resort's shuttle. We lopted out and hoofed and Ubered for the week
The river walk is in back of this property. Go to the other side of the river, turn left, go several blocks, follow the river to the right and you are on the main river walk loop, easy to walk to the many restaurants, shops and Alamo. If you go to the back and turn right on the river walk it is a beautiful walk. Our room was on north side of building with great downtown view. When in San Antonio will stay here again.
