The hotel was excellent, rooms are very nice, and breakfast was also very good. My only fault I could find is when I reserved two rooms, I should have specified two rooms together. Our friends were put up 2 floors above our floor. I asked if I could leave my car the next day in the parking lot while we toured River Walk and they were very accommodating. Hotel staff were very friendly, perfect spot to stay in San Antonio.
My family and I stayed at this hotel Friday night. The room was very spacious and very clean. The beds were super comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great with a lot of variety. Wonderful location and free parking downtown was nice. Most places downtown charge extra for parking so it was nice that parking was included. We also had our little dog and they did not charge extra for her like most places do. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.
I really don't know how I feel about La Quinta at this point. I'm a former Marriott only type, but in the last year I've stayed at a few La Quinta hotels (SC, San Jose CA, TX, Miami) for various reasons. One time it's nice beyond my expectations (San Josel, CA) and one time it's horrible (Fort Jackson, SC). This time I'm really on the fence. The price was definitely the lowest for area. About a 20 minute walk to the riverfront area downtown. I'll start with the good stuff. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great for a free breakfast. I'd put it only behind Embassy Suites as far as free hotel breakfast goes. The lobby area was very nice and renovated and there was plenty of parking. Things started going not so good when I got to the room. I could tell that room was vacant for a while because there were probably 10 flyers for a local pizza place shoved under the door (see photo). The room appeared very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was another story. There were tons of these tiny tiny ants all over the place in there. On the counter, the floor, shower, etc...(see photo) The bathtub was clogged and barely drained so after each shower I ended up standing in a pool of dirty water (see photo). All in all, I did not see any ants outside of the bathroom, although it would be hard to spot them in the carpet. I checked the bed very well to be sure and with white sheets I would have seen them, but I didn't find any there. The internet was solid also, which is not common for free wifi. I would say if you were looking for an affordable place near downtown, and you are not overly freaked out over little things, you could stay here. If you are a clean freak, you probably are not even considering a La Quinta nor reading this review. Forgot to add, it had a nice gym and pool. Also there is a cool little grocery store across the street that serves fresh pizza and other stuff.
We joined our daughter and granddaughters for the weekend. The hotel was newly remodeled and it was very nice. Two doubles and a pull out sofa, micro, refrigerator, desk..... big room and bathroom! We’d stay here again for sure.
Recently stayed at this LaQuinta in San Antonio for a couple of nights and it was a great place to stay. The location is wonderful. A couple of blocks away from the Mercado/Market, easy drive up Cesar Cahvez Blvd, to the King William distric, which is only a frew blocks away and also an easy drive uo cesar cahvez to Alamo drive and the Riverwalk. When looking for a room near downtown, all of the hotels wer in the $120 to $200 area and they charge another $25 to $40 PER NIGHT for parking. Yeesh. You can walk a couple blocks and get $10 a day parking lots, but who wants to do that!! At this LaQuinta, we got a two room suite, with jetted tub and separate shower for around $150 a night with free parking and hot breakfast. The hotel has recently ben renovated and is very clean, stylish and comfy. You can see a few door frames and wall corners that were just painted over, but didn't appear obtrusive. I just have an eye for little details. The employees were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was surprisingly good, for restaurant freebie food. Along with the usual waffles and pastries, there were scrambled eggs along with bacon and potatoes one morning and sausage and biscuits the next morning. Great way to get started on your adventure without getting started paying. The pool was not heated, it is winter anyway, and had a very nice seating area around it. The pool was also a decent size by comparison also. Maybe 25 ft by 50 ft. Not the little dinky get by pools that have become the hotel norm these days. If you are heading to explore San Antonio, I highly recommend this hotel. Great value, great center of town location and everything was clean and fresh. Give them a try. I highly recommend them.
One night stay in San Antonio. We wanted to avoid the higher hotel charges on the Riverwalk so we opted to stay here. The price and accommodations did not disappoint. Easy to get to, very clean, staff is very welcoming. I was skeptical when the room we were given was on the 2nd floor above the lobby right by the elevator. We were not disturbed at all by any noise. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to San Antonio not wanting to stay at Riverwalk. Spend the day there then travel here for a restful evening.
We have long been customers of La Quinta in our travels through the States. What had been planned to be a three days visit to San Antonio became a great problem when my wife fell and broke her leg. We were about three hundred miles from home and I had a wife needing surgery, a granddaughter along for the trip, and now needed to find new lodging for an extended stay. When I explained my situation to the staff, they were able to keep us in our room for the time needed, extending the time as needed so that this one challenge was removed. They asked daily as to how she was doing. They offered any help we might need. They gave evidence that hospitality is more than a word in the dictionary. We have long used La Quinta as our “go to” for travel lodging - for almost forty years. The staff did not know this, only that we were in a dilemma. I am very grateful and will continue to use LaQuintas when the choice is there.
We stayed at the La Quinta during a family vacation to San Antonio. It was very modern and extremely clean and comfortable. The rooms were also spacious. If you eat carbs the breakfast was fine, but the eggs were horrible. It was in a great location, too! The Hop on Hop off bus has a stop right out in front! Altogether a great experience!
The location is easily accessibly by I35 and very close to downtown. The hotel is fairly new, I believe only 5 months. The check in process was quick, friendly staff. The lobby large and nicely appointed. My room was equally large. It faced the front of the hotel. There were two huge spot lights that shine on the building all night so if you need a dark room, you'll have to close the curtains all the way. My only complaint with the bathroom was that there were some mildew spots in the shower. Nothing a little bleach couldn't have fixed. There was a piece of floor tile that came out. Minor attention to detail things. My one recommendation would be to purchase plates and silverware to replace the Styrofoam plates, cups and plastic knives, forks, and spoons. It would save the environment a ton of trash plus the cost of the dishwasher would be off set by no longer having to purchase disposable items. I saw one small roach crawling on the outside of my room door, but that's it for bugs. Overall a pleasant stay, would stay there again.
I arrived late while chaperoning some high school students. One of the rooms for my students had lots of small bugs/ants in the room. They were quickly moved to another room with profuse apologies. In my room I pulled the covers back to go to bed and there were several strands of dark hair in the sheets and a big (blood?) stain on the duvet. I notified the front desk and they sent a person in to change my sheets fairly quickly. More apologies. The shower was large enough but the drain was extremely slow. I had water to my ankles by the time I was done taking a basic, not long shower. The staff was very nice though and hopefully the problems I experienced were isolated events and not the norm.
