Sheraton Fuschlsee-Salzburg, Hotel Jagdhof4.0 out of 5.0

Just completed a two night stay (having returned after a 15 year absence). Was very disappointed in the way the staff treated my Thai wife each morning at breakfast as on at least three occasions communicated to me the staff kept chastising her for obtaining food in the main breakfast restaurant area instead of the separate Chinese tour group area (she was not part of this or any other group, and is NOT Chinese). It took another staff member to correct the mis-identification. Having this (alleged) mistake happen once could be forgiven as not intentional discrimination, but the repeats just demonstrate a staff that wants the Asian dollar but shows no respect for the individuals nationality. Much better training was expected, but unfortunately not received/demonstrated. I for one will not be returning to the property (but as an attorney this property shall be hearing from me further on this topic) and any other Asian individual regardless of nationality should be aware of this discriminatory attitude.
We stayed at the Sheraton Fuschlsee for 3 nights. The hotel is located 15km or 30 minutes outside of Salzburg. It's a great location if you want to relax and get out of the city for a few days. There are no facilities within walking distance of the hotel so it is quite secluded. We didn't have a car so relied on the bus to get us in and out of the city. The bus stop is located at the top of the hotel driveway and bus 150 takes you to Mirabellplatz within 30 mins and costs 4.60 Euro per person each way. The bus doesn't run very frequent (1 per hour sat/sun and public holidays) so you need to plan your day so you don't waste precious time. Arrival - we were welcomed by friendly staff and checkin was efficient. The staff wore Austrian outfits which was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere of the hotel. Room - we stayed in room 437 which had amazing views of the lake and mountains and a nice sized balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable. My only issue were the pillows, they were too soft and flat so you might as well have slept without one. The bathroom was very spacious and could have had a bath or spa as there was sufficient space for one. The room had a rustic feel which definitely suited the location. Jagdhof Restaurant - we had dinner here on our 1st night. The food was delicious. We opted for the asparagus and dumpling soup, goulash and wiener schnitzel which was a great choice. Pool - spacious and a great place to relax after a day exploring Salzburg. Wifi ✔️ Business centre - 3 PC's available with printing facilities ✔️ Departure - on check out we had 3 breakfast charges on our account even though we didn't have breakfast at the hotel. This was removed without any issues. We weren't advised on checkin that a special breakfast rate was available to us during our stay. Had we known this we may have opted to eat breakfast at the hotel. Again on departure the staff were friendly and engaging. We stayed here over Easter and it was lovely coming back to a plate of easter eggs in the room. It's the little things that enhance your hotel experience and especially when my travelling companion loves chocolate. Overall we had a lovely stay, the staff were friendly and the hotel and facilities are what you would expect from a Sheraton.
A beautiful and wonderful hotel for anyone wishing to relax and relax away from the hustle and bustle. I strongly advise everyone to vist. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. The service is fantastic.
Being a platinum member I was required to request for the usual upgrade. Room did not have drinking water and they charged for water if u drink more then 2 bottles. The spa and Indoor pool and grounds are superb. The rooms are neat clean and beds great. Lovely property, superb location. Breakfast was a little let down and then need to improve the bakery products and the coffee .
The Hotel is built next to a lake and golf course. The Service was good. Room was spacious and had good amenities like brew-coffee machine, locker, Iron etc. One could look out of sky-windows, over the bath tub. A walk track around the Fuschlsee lake was great for a morning jog. The view from balcony was nice. While the breakfast room was not too large, they did make up by entertaining to requests. Buffet itself was good and Omelet well prepared. The pool was refreshing and had temperature control
We were passing through this area and chose this location since we did not want to stay in Salzburg city. We are very glad we made this decision since this hotel was absolutely wonderful. Check in was handled very quickly and everything was explained. We were assigned a large corner room with separate bath. The views of the lake, mountains, and valley were stunning. WiFi was fast, amenities were plentiful, and we had a great time. We had a dinner at the attached restaurant and the dishes were plentiful, fresh, and well prepared. We had breakfast in the same restaurant and the selections were huge and varied. The hotel grounds were nice to walk through and one hallway even has a collection of vintage cars on display! We are already looking at our calendar and planning a return trip!
We stayed here for 5 nights and absolutely love it. Check in was fast, breakfast was a big spread (compared to a few others hotels). Room is spacious. Swimming pool is big and clean. Sauna is a completely treat, I love every bit of it. Staff are friendly. Location and its surroundings: perfect!!! The hotel is located a bit far from Salzburg center and other sightseeing places, so a car would be ideally. We really enjoyed the place, it's modern yet very close to nature. There is a golf course, If you play golf then it's definitely a good choice. The hotel's restaurant - Jagdhof is a good choice for dinner, you should make a reservation as it's quite full. I would say this is a place for relaxing and a holiday destination. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely come back.
My 3rd stay in past 2 years and still delighted with this charming hotel. This hotel is more reminiscent of a boutique hotel than a Sheraton. My room this trip featured a 2-level suite with bed and bath upstairs and office/living area and 1/2 Bath downstairs. The bed was firm and the linens soft and high quality combined for a great sleep. Bath is well appointed with separate shower and bath... shower is a bit tight, but great water pressure. Quality of food and service in restaurant are very good for dinner and breakfast. Hotel is undergoing some renovations during this stay, so I believe it will only get better.
If you are spending time all day in Salzburg and you are tired of noisy streets and crowded markets, you will love this place for sure. Just 20 minutes from the city, up in the hills with beautiful lake view. Typical austrian style of accommodation, interior decoration and food. Huge complex of three building. Restaurants and reception on the left, rooms and wellness on the right. Room ok, could have some renovation, but still fine compared to price. Wellness brand new, with huge steel swimming pool and fantastic quiet area with few saunas, steam and all that. Definitely place to visit again. During summer it must be much better than winter.
The hotel is very good situated with lovely rooms. Very nice. In the evening we wanted to have a drink in the hotel bar but there was only one waiter who couldn't serve everybody so it would have been nice that the hotel management had giving him some help
