We had a great few days here. It's very centrally located - very close to the Mirabell gardens with all the Sound of Music connections and just across the Bridge from the old town and castle. Very welcoming and an efficient little hotel. Breakfast is maybe a little costly for what it is but, hey, no one's forcing anyone to have it and the street outside has amazing cafes, restaurants all open and serving breakfast - where, ironically, you can end up spending more because the menus are so great. Anyway, the free coffee and hot chocolate all day, and all night from the help yourself bar more than compensated. Maps and advice offered on arrival and the Sound of Music permanently available on one of the TV channels was a nice touch. Very good hotel, very nice stay, no faults, would certainly go back.
We had a lovely room on the third floor overlooking the street. It had a small sitting area with two small chairs. The bathroom was nice and had a great shower. Our room had a tad of pot pourri in it and smelled fine, but the rest of the hotel....halls and common area had a very unpleasant aroma. It seems there were candles set about to mask the odor but it didn’t help. We were told that breakfast was 22 euros. My husband checked it out and said, no way. The hotel does have complimentary coffee service all day and that is a very nice feature that we appreciated. We got rolls and juice at the little bakery down the street. Another thing you should be aware of is that this hotel is NOT in the middle of old town, but is up a pedestrian street from old town...which is down the hill and across the river about 1/4 to 1/2 mile. This isn’t a big deal but you won’t be in the middle of old town, as advertised.
Charming Salzburg style boutique hotel just 10 min walk from Getreidegasse (Mozart birth house) in an 15 century building (front to pedestrian zone Linzergasse and rear to a calm tiny cementry); lovely high quality refurbished rooms (2017) offer different styles and sizes, equipped with bathcoat, Slippers,... free tea and coffee all day long in breakfast area on ground floor; delicious breakfast offered from 7 -10; Even we stay at a lot of hotels feels absolut more like home than Hotel! thx :)
The hotel is not huge but the room we had was more like a suite on the 2nd floor, than a room we had actually booked. The rooms was clean, tastefully decorated and overlooking the quiet street outside which has very few vehicles on as only taxi's are allowed down there. The receptionists where all very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly towards us. Its probably a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the old town the other side of the river and getting around the city was fine. Overall we enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there.
Nothing spectacular but clean and very handy to the old historical areas of what we feel to be a most beautiful city saltzburg. The lady at reception was a bit brash and not really what you need after a long trip. But that aside the location being the only good thing. Our room was right Next to the church bell which was ok as we spent our time exploring. Breakfast average service average no cooling in the room and being upstairs it was too hot during our early September stay.
Don't stay here. The pictures are accurate and the hotel is well-located, but we (at least) had a terrible experience. The bed, though large, had literally the hardest mattress that I have ever experienced. The room was near 30 degrees celcius when we came into it. Three of the four curtains were coming off their tracks. The pillows were absurdly soft, such that they collapsed to nothing when one put one's head on them. What was much worse than all this, was the lying. When we arrived, we were greeted cheerfully by a charming and flamboyant night porter. I could not remember whether I had booked the room with breakfast or without, and so I asked him. He assured me (after checking my reservation) that the breakfast was "included." We stayed two nights and ate breakfast. Upon checkout, when looking at the same record, we were charged 72 Euros for four breakfasts, or about $86 USD. The breakfast was fine, but certainly not worth anywhere near that. When we complained about the representations of the person who checked us in, we got no consideration whatsoever. Consider carefully whether you'd stay here given that. No sleep, bright lights due to ineffective curtains, overheated, lying staff (or at least, staff that would not own up to their own mistake).
Loved the large family suite/apartment we got on the 4th floor. Huge rooms, good shower, good bed. Only complaint was the staff was ok - not as friendly as I would expect for a “boutique “ hotel and wish I could get the rooms colder bc opening the windows was a little tough with church bells.,
Very well located on the main pedestrian street of the new town. Great choice of cafes, bars and shops at your door step. Cosy hotel ( maybe too warm ) with twelve or so rooms, very spacious, clean and modern. Serve yourself bar is in the lounge, just note on the book what you've consumed. Breakfast of €18 was not included in the rate. No parking at this hotel, however a large covered parking lot is 100m from the hotel at €17.50 per day.
Really nice room with separate comforters. We got there about midnight and really appreciated that they made after-hours check-in easy on us. Breakfast was fresh and healthy. We were on the top floor next to the street and didn't think it was loud.
Junior suite was pretty great with nice bath, location is perfect. Very quiet in October, it is minutes away from the best restaurants and tourist attractions. Some great spot to eat just down the street, and all the castles are not far away, you can walk everywhere from here.
