Campanile Hotel Zwolle3.0 out of 5.0

I had to be in Zwolle for a week for a family visit, and needed a place to stay near the centre. What's good: the location is very convenient, there's also adequate parking for both car and bike. The personnel is friendly and helpful. Internet works fine. The room however needs serious updating. It looks like the bathroom (spacious for European standards) was updated, but the room itself looks like it is from the 70s and is so unfriendly. I really didn't want to be in the room at all. So just came to sleep. The bed was fine although hard, and my room, facing the parking in the back of the hotel, was quiet. The restaurant downstairs also needs serious updating. Zwolle has so many wonderful places to eat and sit, why be at the hotel at all besides sleeping? All was clean though. So overall a good stay although too pricy for what was offered, I paid the same for CitizenM at Schiphol this time and there really is no comparison.
We booked as hotel was near to railway station. It's about 1.5 km but easily accessible by buses that stop just about outside. Hotel clean and friendly. Recommended for anyone wanting to stay near the area.
It did exactly what we needed - great and convenient location for the city. The bed was comfortable although as i was at te front oit was a little noisy in the morning because I had the window open great shower - good breakfast
This hotel was a decent low budget hotel. We stayed on the third floor, which had been converted from an attic to the third floor rooms. The day we arrived the temperature was in the high 80s and there was no air conditioning and no fan available. The receptionist said they used to have fans, but didn't anymore. Needless to say, we were very uncomfortable as the room was very hot with very little air movement. The beds were comfortable with enough beds for three people. The decor/ appearance was minimal to fair. The room was fairly clean. Breakfast was a typical European breakfast with sliced meats and cheeses. There were some scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit and bread of course. For what was available on the buffet the price was very expensive at about €16 per person. Parking was free and sufficient, although you needed a coin from the front desk to exit the parking. I assume this is for security purposes . The best thing about this hotel was that it was conveniently located close to the center of downtown. They were many little shops nearby and also a Lydl to buy extra groceries. If we visited the area again, we would probably look for a better hotel- unless we wanted something cheap. The visit was great, the hotel just ok.
It is in a good location. We were going to the Assen TT.It is a nice clean hotel. The breakfast is the usual Euro one.As much as yo can eat.It is only about a 10 minute stroll to get into the Centre. The rates were reasonable too.
Located at the northern edge of the old city the Campanile is in easy walking distance to restaurants and bars in the old town. Rooms come with a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, tea and coffee making facilities and a TV set. The bathroom is functional with a tub, a sink and a WC. The breakfast on offer includes juices, coffee, tea, milk, bread, rolls, croissants, hams, cheeses, eggs, cereals.
Very loud. The staff can be nice and helpful, but are very unprofessional, and do not rub them the wrong way. The rooms are okay, better if you stay in the back, the front is very loud due to street noise. The hotel as a whole is pretty noisy. The bed is hard as a rock and the pillows flat. The bathroom is tiny, with no place to put your stuff. The hotel is sort of clean. Breakfast was sufficient, however on my first day the cheese was stale, and the fruit did not taste fresh
We were only one night in the hotel. (booked the day before). It is well situated just outside the center of Zwolle (5 minuts on foot). They have a private parking behind the hotel. Rooms are small but clean, bed was OK. Breakfast was for its price (11.50€) more than OK. Service at reception was not really friendly
I have read all the reviews of this hotel and we decided to go here while we visited Zwolle. We checked in on Friday and out on Sunday. Parking is free. Check in was very easy. We also paid for the breakfast buffet for both mornings (we had a special deal for 2 people). The room was small, but enough. The one thing I first noticed was that it was HOT in the room!!! I am sure that the staff knew this, and it would have been nice if there were some fans in the rooms to keep us cool. The Wi-Fi was free and the speed was Ok. Not blazing fast, but it worked well. The room did not have a small safe to store valuables. The only garbage can in the whole room was the one in the bathroom. Most of the other things I wasn't too surprised (this is a mid-range hotel). No toothpaste or small washcloth (bring your own). The shower/bathtub was a little small. Also, when you step out, PLEASE be careful since the floor of the tub is higher than the floor in the bathroom. You could possibly fall. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom. This kinda surprised me to be honest. The bed was a little firm for me, but I slept without a problem. We had to take the comforter out of the sheet and just use the sheet since it was SO HOT in the room. My wife had allergy symptoms after the first night, so I am guessing there was dust around us (I couldn't tell). As for the breakfast. It was very basic. For a few days it is ok, but as I read on other reviews, it can get very boring. Cold cuts, cheese, fruit, cereal, bread, scrambled & boiled eggs and bacon. Also coffee, juice, milk. It was enough for me. I enjoyed it. It would have been nice if there was some info about the attractions in Zwolle. There was some info, but not of Zwolle! We had to do all the research (thank god for Trip Advisor!). The hotel is right next to one of the bridges that takes you into the city. Very short walk and convenient. If you get a room facing the city center, expect a little noise since you have cars driving by. it didn't bother me at all. Overall, I did like this Hotel and would come again.
Hotel was perfect. Clean, big, beatiful rooms with bath, good rich breakfast, receprionist try to help you. Big restaurant, Parking near the hotel, prices for the accomodation in this hotel were one of the cheepest in Zwolle. Hotel is in the middle of Zwolle, so you can drive by bike everywhere. Thank you very much.
