This is a budget hotel, so did not expect fabulous service. However we did expect to be provided with the twin bedded room that we had booked (via hotels.com). On checking in, found that we had been given a room with a double bed. I asked for this to be changed, but was told that no twin bedded rooms were available. I then asked for a refund, but was told that this was not possible as they view a booking for a twin room as a 'preference' !! Even a request for the transfer of our booking to the Campanile in the next town was refused without a reason being given. Terrible and very abrupt customer service from both the night manager and the hotel manager the following morning. We will never use this hotel group again
This is indeed a budget hotel that needs urgent renovation. I stayed there for quite a while, and I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to stay more then 2 or 3 nights. Try and get a room that looks towards the parking place, it is way quieter. The only plus is that it is clean and close to the city centre. Otherwise, the rooms are small, no mini bar and everything is in need of redecoration. Also, the breakfast is overpriced, don't pay the 11.5 euro for that breakfast! Even the coffee is from a vending machine. There are a lot of nice coffee shops and smaller artisan bakeries nearby, so I would recommend getting breakfast there.
Was forced to spend christmas here. Building is in desperate need of an update, rooms extreme small and the free parking has not enough space so no free parking for us. Took some effort to get out of the full parking as they have a very strange system with coins that you need to drop in a machine 5 meters behind your car. If you are not fast enough, the gate closes and you can go back to reception and ask another coin... reception was unable to give us 2 key cards, not very handy if you need to go out alone from time to time. Bar was crap, barman had no idea about the drinks and was unable to tap a normal beer... Next time better stay home...
I had to be in Zwolle for a week for a family visit, and needed a place to stay near the centre. What's good: the location is very convenient, there's also adequate parking for both car and bike. The personnel is friendly and helpful. Internet works fine. The room however needs serious updating. It looks like the bathroom (spacious for European standards) was updated, but the room itself looks like it is from the 70s and is so unfriendly. I really didn't want to be in the room at all. So just came to sleep. The bed was fine although hard, and my room, facing the parking in the back of the hotel, was quiet. The restaurant downstairs also needs serious updating. Zwolle has so many wonderful places to eat and sit, why be at the hotel at all besides sleeping? All was clean though. So overall a good stay although too pricy for what was offered, I paid the same for CitizenM at Schiphol this time and there really is no comparison.
We booked as hotel was near to railway station. It's about 1.5 km but easily accessible by buses that stop just about outside. Hotel clean and friendly. Recommended for anyone wanting to stay near the area.
It did exactly what we needed - great and convenient location for the city. The bed was comfortable although as i was at te front oit was a little noisy in the morning because I had the window open great shower - good breakfast
This hotel was a decent low budget hotel. We stayed on the third floor, which had been converted from an attic to the third floor rooms. The day we arrived the temperature was in the high 80s and there was no air conditioning and no fan available. The receptionist said they used to have fans, but didn't anymore. Needless to say, we were very uncomfortable as the room was very hot with very little air movement. The beds were comfortable with enough beds for three people. The decor/ appearance was minimal to fair. The room was fairly clean. Breakfast was a typical European breakfast with sliced meats and cheeses. There were some scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit and bread of course. For what was available on the buffet the price was very expensive at about €16 per person. Parking was free and sufficient, although you needed a coin from the front desk to exit the parking. I assume this is for security purposes . The best thing about this hotel was that it was conveniently located close to the center of downtown. They were many little shops nearby and also a Lydl to buy extra groceries. If we visited the area again, we would probably look for a better hotel- unless we wanted something cheap. The visit was great, the hotel just ok.
It is in a good location. We were going to the Assen TT.It is a nice clean hotel. The breakfast is the usual Euro one.As much as yo can eat.It is only about a 10 minute stroll to get into the Centre. The rates were reasonable too.
Located at the northern edge of the old city the Campanile is in easy walking distance to restaurants and bars in the old town. Rooms come with a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, tea and coffee making facilities and a TV set. The bathroom is functional with a tub, a sink and a WC. The breakfast on offer includes juices, coffee, tea, milk, bread, rolls, croissants, hams, cheeses, eggs, cereals.
Very loud. The staff can be nice and helpful, but are very unprofessional, and do not rub them the wrong way. The rooms are okay, better if you stay in the back, the front is very loud due to street noise. The hotel as a whole is pretty noisy. The bed is hard as a rock and the pillows flat. The bathroom is tiny, with no place to put your stuff. The hotel is sort of clean. Breakfast was sufficient, however on my first day the cheese was stale, and the fruit did not taste fresh
