If your are looking for hotel to stay more than 2 nights it may not be the first choice. It has very good location next to historical points. Didnt use the food service. TV is not the best. Rooms are just fine. A bit noisy during my stay.
The hotel was what we were expecting. It was good enough to spent some nights just to visit the beautiful city of Salamanca. One point that I didn't like so much was the fact that the hotel does not provide parking for the car and we needed to leave the car in a very expensive park in the other side of the street. But in the overrall it was good.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The GalaHotels website gave the choice of single room and double for single occupancy at the same price. Naturally I chose a double and trusted not to bother checking my booking. I arrived at the hotel and was told I had booked a single. I checked my booking and saw that I had booked a single. Why would anyone choose a single over a double when the price is the same? Anyway, I accepted it must have been my error and checked in. The room was TINY. My bathroom at home is bigger than the single room in this hotel. TINY. I decided that I was only there for two nights and out most of the time, I could suffer the TINY space. I am 6' 3" and the bed must have been 6 feet long. I went out to get a bottle of water from the local shop and when I returned, could not get into the room. I went down to reception only to be told it was my fault because I must have kept the key-card next to my phone. They issued a new key-card, up to the 5th floor again, only to find the new card didn't work. Down to reception again. They then accompany me to my room with a master key. They couldn't get the key-card to work and said that they would get me a physical master key. 2 maintenance staff then appeared who also could not get the key to work. I hadn't even unpacked at that stage. I eventually said this was ridiculous and asked why they didn't simply give me a new room. They then gave me a key to the room next to mine and I moved in. Another TINY room. In the morning I went to breakfast and felt that the buffet was an assortment of the cheapest options the hotel could find. I am not a fussy eater, but got the impression that the bread, salami's, chorizo's, cheeses and pastries tasted like the bargain end of the scale and not the standard I was expecting, having stayed in many hotels in Spain before. Don't get me wrong, to put things into perspective, the price I paid was not expensive, but certainly wasn't budget. My mistake was believing the images of the hotel when booking. Great marketing by GalaHotels, poor judgement by me. Poor: room size, breakfast Good: cleanliness Excellent: location
I was in Salamanca for 4 days. The hotel is situated just 5-minutes walk from Plaza Mayor. It is located in a quiet area, so you will be able to sleep well without the noise of "students". Rooms are classy, and spacious. Staff is nice and courteous. I paid 7 Euros for breakfast. They had many options (hot and continental breakfast).
We have stayed at Silken Hotels before in Spain and regret tht this one was not up to the usual standard. We did not get what we were promised in the booking confirmation. The parking is off site and you have to leave your keys with the parking attendant. Access to the car between 2400 and 0730 is not available. Not convenient for an early start.
This lovely hotel is situated less than 5 mins walk from plaza mayor Check in was hassle free I was in room 102 it was a lovely spacious room with 2 singles pushed together as is quite common in mainland Europe I was actually on my own so I had loads of room It was spotlessly clean and the bathroom had all sorts of toiletries even shower caps tissues shoe shine etc Bath and shower in great working order lovely big bath sheets and towels changed daily. Loads of mirrored wall in bedroom and I didn’t have a problem sleeping I didn’t find it noisy at all The only negative is that it could do with a bit more lighting as the lights were perfect and sufficient but as my room didn’t have very much natural light coming in it was a bit dull for doing make up as the lights were more mood lighting I stayed for 3 nights and the rest of my group were in 3 different rooms on the 2nd 3rd and Fourth floors And having seen all the other rooms my room was definitely the biggest and more modern I think it was recently renovated by the looks of it I would definitely recommend this hotel as the staff were lovely and helpful it was so central and lovely and quiet the language barrier can be a little bit awkward at times but it wasn’t a big problem.
We stayed 2 nights at this medium sized hotel about 5 minutes walk from the main Plaza Mayor. We arrived by train at Salamanca La Alemedilla station which is around 15 minutes walk away. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very busy during our stay so breakfast was crowded and the staff had to work very hard clearing tables and restocking the food and drink. Overall though they did a good job. Room was pleasant and bed was comfortable. My only complaint was that it was very difficult to rest during the afternoon due to noise coming up from the covered courtyard below. Fortunately this was not a problem at night when it was closed. Overall a good stay in a nice hotel that was good value for money.
We have stayed in Salamanca several times before and like to try different hotels. Our room at Rona Dalba was very reasonable and for a relatively small hotel the room was a good size. Our window overlooked an internal central area, with overgrown vegetation - this, however did not matter to us as we didn't hear the road noise at the front. We did, however, hear "high jinks" from the bedroom next door, which we could have done without!! We used the nearby garage for parking, which was very convenient and it was just a short walk to the beautiful Plaza Mayor of Salamanca. All in all a good experience.
We found the Hotel very well situated. In a great position for all the sites. No problem for walking into the City. Good value for money. Staff very helpful. Very clean . We would recommend this Hotel .
