Stayed one night on our drive down to Portugal. The hotel is an easy find off the Motorway south, it is also an easy flat walk into the city centre, which is definately worth a visit. Hotel comfortable and with free parking and wifi. We did not eat in the hotel as we had an early start in the morning. Staff very efficient and friendly.
I stayed for one night in twin room with my son. After a long motorbike journey hoped for nice meal in onsite restaurant. Alas not to be, wrong food came staff would not change, it was inedible, 2 meals not fit for the dog. Hotel breakfast the worst we had experienced in 9 days travel. Manager made aware he was not interested. Staff must be lead by management!
We recently stayed at this hotel for one night ,would have stayed for more but we were travelling to France from Portugal . On checking in we received a surprise upgrade to a junior suite room "fantastic" it was lovely ,after driving 400 miles that day it was just what we needed. The staff were all really friendly and very courteous and the hotel was spotless ! Would highly recommend it ,and we will stay there again in the future
Excellent hotel, very clean, good wifi very helpful staff.Good evening meal ,great wine at reasonable prices. We would definitely stay there again and you could walk to the old town which is stunningand worth the walk or taxi
Very short visit to Salamanca. Beautiful city. Very old city center, with amazing buildings. Very good ham and tapas. The IBB Recoletos Coco is a very confortable hotel. Staff very kind and helpfully. We had a junior suite, very confortable and quite
Good car park and cctv coverage was reassuring. Lovely welcome from very helpful receptionist. No food available at 10pm on Saturday which was disappointing. Room was okay, but it had a peculiar stale smell. Good bathroom. Breakfast was not great - baked goods were all very dry and pretty inedible. Overall okay for a one night stay but no longer
The hotel looked lovely from the outside, and also the inside. The rooms were well appointed and clean. However when they built it they clearly did not install any soundproofing. The walls must be made of cardboard as it was possible to hear the telephone conversation of the guest in the next room, and listen to their TV programme of choice. Every time someone shut a door or walked along the corridor you could hear it. My husband was not well, so we wanted to eat in, but there was no restaurant in the hotel. They supposedly offered a service whereby they would phone a local takeaway pizza place on your behalf if you did not speak Spanish, but they refused to do so for me saying that I could phone myself and the people did speak English. I phoned and guess what - they did not speak English. I tried French, but no luck their either. Instead we had a lovely boxed salad from the Carrefour supermarket which was close by. A dreadful nights sleep followed due to the aforementioned noise issues. All in all not a good set up for a long drive the next day.
Great location a 2 km walk to town square . Great room and large comfortable bed . Very helpful man on reception who spoke English very well .. better than my Spanish ! The room did not have tea and coffee making facilities which I was suprised at for a 4 star hotel . Would stay again if passing through
This hotel is a trip back into the 1970s by way of how it looks. Shame it took the guy on reception 20 Minutes to check us in without acknowledging us (with other staff in the back chit-chatting away in the background) Bit annoying after a 9 hour drive. The room was clean and well-presented, didn't try the bar as it had no atmosphere and the restaurant in the morning was just about acceptable by way of food-quality - although the person managing the whole thing couldn't speak English. Ok for a stop-off for one night, represented good value for money. Not a 4-star, more like a 3-star. On the positive side-parking is good and only 20 mins walk into central Salamanca which was bustling with activity.
We stayed here for one night on our way back to Santander. It was truly convenient as it was just 1 mile or so from the motorway and very easy to find. A nice hotel, we had a lovely room and the staff were excellent especially the bar man who was charming and informative. For information it is about a 20 minute walk straight into Salamanca central - two of the other guests told us that as they had been staying for 3 days - but we were too tired to venture out and about. Unusually for 3/4 star hotel its bar was more like a café and there was not much of a lounge area at all. Also the restaurant appeared to be shut but in fact when we asked the Barman about it he found the Maître Dit, the cook was already there and we had a very nice meal there. One thing to note is that the dinner menu was very limited, a Table D'hôte really, but the food was fresh and very nice. It is worth mentioning that they also serve bar meals and when we came out of the restaurant we saw a number of people eating in the Café/Bar. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. It is obviously an big event hotel for Weddings and Conferences and we saw the big Salon set up for such events. So overall we had a very good stay and would definitely go back there again if we were doing a similar drive.
