Harborside Suites at Little Harbor

We were very pleased with our hotel choice. It was a great value for the dollar. Charming setting right on the harbor with sailboats and boardwalk. An older facility but well-maintained. They were in the process of replacing some of the carpeting while we were there. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Harborside Suites was wonderful! Room was clean and comfortable, exactly as it appears in the pictures! Grounds were beautiful and well kept and though the weather was not what one would typically expect (low 60's all week!) we still enjoyed the property. The beach was clean with nice sand. the remoteness of the resort is good in some ways but a hindrance in others. If the weather works in your favor and you never have to leave the hotel, the peace and quiet of the area are perfect! However you can expect quite a drive to virtually anything else if you choose to leave the resort for whatever reason. We had very little interaction with hotel staff (once checking in, and once checking out). The man who checked us in was very kind and helpful. The woman checking us out seemed tired and annoyed. Didn't change our opinion of the hotel though! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated all the hotel had to offer.

We were able to get a harbor side room. The view was lovely. The suite was a nice size, although we didn't need/use all the amenities the room had to offer. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the carpets and the fact that the hotel housekeeping only made the bed and gave us new towels. No vacuuming or cleaning of the floors.

place is very nice if ya face the water even better. they have no place to get dry goods is the down fall of the place. 2 bars on the water are cool.

We really liked the hotels proximity to the beach and local life. The staff was excellent. The grounds were being groomed and as we stayed. The on site restaurant that we ate at was very good. The beach was quant and scenic. It was diverse with people from countries and colors. The night time boats and lights were beautiful for kids to see and it was also quite peaceful at night. It was all around a good experience. The only drawback was that it was a bit of an aged establishment but we knew that going in, so the décor was somewhat worn and dirty. We also had roaches in our room but we called the desk and they quickly rectified the problem by moving our room to an Oceanside view at no cost.

Awesome room. Very peaceful. Very clean. Really good food.

Had to check in late so wasn't able to enjoy the resort. What we were able to see looked great and hope to return again soon and stay much longer. The room was very nice and aren't many things to improve upon. Will say would have nice if the door was sound proof from hallway as we could hear that. The bathroom layout was not so great.(Just the layout)

The beach is not on the ocean, so the water wasnt very clean because no waves. Nice seclude area, though. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. Nice rooms!

We took our baby on his first vacation here. Nice hotel, room was spacious and clean and view from the balcony was beautiful. the food from sunset grill was pretty good too. It would have been perfect if only there were more things to do near the hotel as the baby gets cranky when in the car too long and can't really enjoy the water sports as it was too hot to take baby out. Food choices were also limited as they did not have a big variety of restaurants that were near. But the hotel itself was really a nice place to relax and get away.

The location is great, the best was the worst i ever tried to.sleep on.

Hotel is a pleasant stay not far from Sun City Center (a retirement community) where we visit relatives.

Beautiful place, hotel had everything you needed. Beach was quiet and peaceful. Can't wait to go back.

I had to be in Sun City Center multiple times in the last 3 months. This hotel is approximately 10 miles away and half again as costly as the closer hotels but worth every penny if you value being on the water, sunrises and sunsets, and the feeling of luxury. Each of my children (all older) came at separate times and this is where I arranged for them to stay. Perfect.

Check-in is a little clumsey as to location but the staff are friendly. Once you get to your room, all is bliss. Great views of the bay and even eastward where the sunrise is spectacular. We had a one room suite it it was large and very comfortable. Windows opened (they don't in the Inn) and the air was refreshing. Great walk around the grounds and on the beach. I would avoid early (8 AM) breakfast M-F. It is extra and the wait staff is bored and the cook uncencerned about the doneness of the eggs. Different story on Saturday -- different staff and omelets etc. made to order. Sunday brunch is over the top but not designed for an 8 AM breakfast. It is a real brunch that should start late morning and would hold you all day.

If you want relaxing vacations-- i suggest here.. yes its not located near much, however the restruant and beach are right there-- great views of sunsets and only short drives to beaches, baseball, and activities..

If I would have known what I know now about Haborside Suites, I would never, ever have stayed there. The hotel is incredibly secluded and isolated, in a creepy way. You drive through miles and miles of trailer homes and run-down buildings before reaching the "resort". Know that the majority of people staying there are elderly retired individuals who are staying for weeks or even months. My boyfriend and I, both 24, felt very out-of-place and were discouraged that there was absolutely nothing around within a 30 mile radius. Do not be tricked into thinking you will have your own private beach, the beach is man-made and very small and not at all luxurious. The only positive was that the room was clean and nice. We had a kitchenette with dishes, robes, and lots of television channels (which is important when there is not entertainment in town). There is internet, but you must bring your own ethernet cord. That bed and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The worst part of this experience was that in the very early morning while we were sleeping, the light above our bed turned on twice randomly. Due to the eeriness of the hotel and location, this was very creepy and unexplainable. The front desk was not helpful or understanding. After the light inexplicably turned on the second time, we had had enough of Haborside Suites and checked out immediately. The thought of this hotel gives me the creeps and unless you are over 65, stay away from Ruskin.
