We stayed there for two nights, and had a nice stay. The bed was big and comfy, maybe a bit too hard. The breakfast was good, and we also got coupons for free sparkling vine/ soft drink in the hotel restaurant. However, the room was too hot, too small, and there was noise in the morning because of renovation in the hotel.
My "double luxury" room was on the small side, but sufficient - especially for one person. Showering in the bathtub meant having water splash over the floor, the bathroom is tiny. There was not a mirror with good lightning for doing makeup, i.e. the ceiling-lights are placed so that they do not sufficiently light up your face when looking into a mirror (even the small mirror which clearly is meant for this purpose). Staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but the sparkling wine too sweet for my taste.
I had an excellent 2 night stay at CityHotel! Size of the room was ok, cleanliness of bedroom and bathroom were also very good. Breakfast was really great w/ a lot of options, staff was really nice, friendly and informative. I asked for a breakfast sandwich because of my early checkout and it was better than I expected from my previous experiences: it had 2 sandwiches, yogurt and a fruit + coffe/tea. There is also a pub downstairs, Bull Burger, which is amazing w/ tasty burgers at a fair price. I really recommend this hotel when staying in Rovaniemi.
The hotel was very comfortable, we felt the price was reasonable, the rooms were tastefully decorated. They provide free parking and this was by far the best breakfast buffet in our Finland vacation. It also had good wi-fi. We only spent one night here but would have like to have spent another night here to explore the area.
Our room was clean, but a bit too hot. A/C would be a nice addition to a room that was otherwise made pleasant. The bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect if one is looking to be close to the main center services and shops. The staff was effective and friendly. It is bonus that they have a good restaurant within the hotel.
This hotel is very good in many ways. Really good service! Breakfast is excellent! Location is perfect! You have free parking at the hotel. Cool pub downstairs. Etc etc But... The room is extremely warm. Only a small 20 cm window to open. This makes it very difficult to sleep. Too sad because the hotel overall does not deserve it.
Wonderful hotel, friendly staff, lovely breakfast to get you started in the morning. I was travelling alone and arrived at around 11:30pm and let the hotel know beforehand that I would be arriving late and they were very friendly and waiting for me. They provide breakfast each morning which was great. Rooms were comfortable, clean, shower was small but that didn't worry me too much. Location is brilliant, close to the Main Street, restaurants and bars. Everywhere is walkable and tours (I recommend Lapland Welcome Midnight Sun tour) /buses to Santa Village, pick up from the hotel or are within a 5 minute walk away. On my final morning I left early for a flight (4:30am) and the staff even prepared a light breakfast for me to eat while I waited for the shuttle. Note-check shuttle times for early morning flights. They schedualed shuttle didn't show up so I had to taxi to the airport. I stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone heading to this beautiful part of the world.
The hotel is okay, clean and neat and relatively affordable. The rooms are small. What makes this a 3/5 instead of 4/5 is that there is no air condition. During summer it gets really hot in the room. We were given a tablefan, which is better than nothing.
Our 3rd floor room was adequate and clean. It was easy to find our way around town from such a central location. The welcoming service was lovely and we were greeted with chilled shot glasses of Blueberry juice on arrival. The amazing sauna on the 4th floor was free to use in the afternoon during two 2-hour window, for men and woman seperately. The continental breakfast was superb and beautifully presented in the Monterosa restaurant: a clear 10/10! Our dinner in the Monterosa was delightful and well priced and the courteous staff kindly waived the cost of my dessert (Tarte tatin) due to a miscommunication. Thank you for our enjoyable stay!
In the centre of Rovaniemi, near to the Santa Claus village bus stop (7,20€ 2 ways) and the airport transferí bus stop just in the corner (7€-10 min). Little hotel and little rooms with all you news.
