Very basic hotel. The room we stayed in was No 110 which was small. The sink had no plug so the smell from the drains came in to the room. The toilet seat was broke, mold in the shower, had to wait for the lift if it was busy as this is the only way up and down. God knows what would happen if a fire broke out? Shower was a joke either scolding or freezing On arrival the safe was not working so we asked if someone could look at it, no one looked at it. The lights kept on shorting out every time you switched off the bathroom light. The only thing going for it was the location. The breakfast was again basic, if it got busy the food soon ran out and had to wait for it to be topped up, a tip is to get down early. We paid over £100 pound per night so was expecting a little better. The hotel is looking tired and could do with an upgrade. If you shop around you can get a much nicer. hotel in the same area for the same price or cheaper. Will definitely not be returning to this hotel again, I have stayed in nicer bothies.

Hotel Valle has its set of benefits and drawbacks. I've tried to capture 'em below. Just as a background I'm a budget traveller with realistic expectations. The Good: Location - 10 minute walk from Roma Termini, 1 stop ride to the colosseum via the metro next door, accessible to almost all the major spots via buses, metro, taxis etc. There's a bunch of decent restaraunts, convenient shopping, pharmacies etc next door. All in all - very centrally located. The Bad: 1) Unfriendly, uninterested staff - bordering on rude! 2) Horrible Breakfast - I know its a budget hotel but you'd rather not serve the horrible breakfast on display than serve a few cold breads and some packaged, processed items. Vegans / Veggies - dont even bother, just skip it altogether. 3) Rooms - Dont even get me started with the rooms! Small, dirty, dingy bathrooms and no heating (Gets really really cold in winters - travellers please take note). 4) No Wifi in rooms - Apart from the fact that there's no Wifi in the room, there is a common (not password protected),limited range wifi that only works if you are standing in a few select spots around the reception. Budget Hotels can be friendly, have clean rooms and have basic facilities too. I stayed in a similar budget hotel in Venice and paid around the same. So I'm not asking for too much here. Unfortunately Hotel Valle doesnt get the basics of hospitality right and in the garb of being a "budget hotel" cuts corners where it matters most. Hope this provides a fairly balanced perspective.

This hotel is the worst off all the places I stayed in my life! That includes backpacking... The whole 2nd floor smelled terrible - some kind of pesticide? The room as well. It was very old, dirty and stains everywhere. After changing, we got a very small room on the first floor. The smell still was terrible. This room had NO electricity. The toilet wasn't working properly. So time for room number 3. This was the last available room and acceptable. Didn't use the bathroom, since it smelled like piss. The bed was pretty bad but had a decent sleep. Breakfast was AWFUL! No coffee that should be served in Italy and everything was finished. Worst part of all: we paid to stay in this hotel from hell!

My father and I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and happily returned this year. The hotel is centrally located and is an ideal base for exploring Rome by foot. The rooms are of a decent size and v clean.

Never ever stay at this hotel! The worse one couldn't happen to you. The rooms are tiny, in my shower was mould ( it was so disgusting, so forgot to make a photo), you hear everything what is happening outside of the room. There is just one elevator for three persons and NO stairs, so you have to wait to go up or down more than 10 minutes every time! The wifi exists, but is not functioning, because of the huge amount of people, and my Vodafone sim, which has connection everywhere, was not working as well, because of whatever reasons. And the "best" was, that in my room, I didn't just hear the neighbors above flushing the toilet, but when I was showering, and they flushed, my warm water turned to boiling. Never again!!!

Nice boutique hotel in the historic area of Rome. Close to the Forum and the Colosseum. They speak English and serve complimentary breakfast daily. The airport express bus stop is short walk from the hotel. Nice cafes and restaurants are close by. We walked to Trevi fountain and the forum. The rooms are on the small side but its understandable since its a historic building.

We went for 3 nights to see the sights. The Hotel is fairly basic but absolutely fine for somewhere to rest your head and feet. It is handy for the sights- 10 minutes walk to the Colluseum and Roman Forum and 2 minutes to Hop on Hop off bus stops. Very handy for Termini train station.

Hotel basic but clean. No facilities bar etc. Small area by hotel reception for eating breakfast gets quite busy, all cramped in. 1 small lift for all 3 floors, no stairs lift can only take 3 people at a time. Good location.

We stayed for 4 nights in two rooms at the Hotel Valle. Rooms are basic but functional. There is only one small lift and no accessible stairs in the hotel so sometimes a wait for the lift was enevitable, however the wifi works best by the lift too. Breakfast is continental and adequate. The location of this hotel is its main attraction ,a very short walk to the coliseum and the hop on hop off bus stop number 2. Price is reasonable however beware of tourist pricing in Rome ,always ask the price of everything before ordering in bars or restaurants as you will be overcharged if not. I would recommend this hotel for location alone. It is a budget hotel nothing more.

Well, this is not a hotel in which you will feel like a King, that's for sure... But if you want to be very well located in Rome and not pay a lot, this is the place to be. From here you can go to everywhere by foot, except to Vatican City. There is one thing I really didn't like - breakfast. The rest, is very acceptable.
