A wonderful hotel. Great food, great staff. Room was well appointed. As with all European hotels we have been to, inefficient air conditioning, but I guess we Americans are just spoiled!

The hotel itself was very nice, clean and beautiful. This is the second time I've stayed here. The first time I had to two twin beds and the room and bathroom was extremely spacious. This time I traveled with my boyfriend so we only needed one double bed. The room and bathroom was half the size as the first time I stayed here, not as enjoyable. Also, I stayed in this hotel because it was cheaper than staying in central Rome. However with all the taxis we payed for going back and forth from the hotel to Rome it would have been equally as expensive and much more convenient to have stayed in a hotel in central rome. Overall, average.

The Hotel was nice enough, definitely not a four star however, but was located fairly far away from most of the tourist locations in Rome. The biggest complaint that I have with this hotel is it's response to a fire that occurred in a hotel room almost directly below ours. at approximately midnight we heard a fire alarm go off and we gathered a few things like our passports and evacuated the hotel. in order to evacuate we had to go directly past the room that was on fire. The corridor was filled with smoke and all of the fire doors had automatically shut so this was not just a minor fire. We went outside and waited for the fire department to show up. over a half hour later no firemen had shown so I went inside to ask the front desk what was going on. They told us that a technician from the hotel had put out the fire and no fireman would be coming. I explained to them that there could still be embers or other problems with the electrical system, it was an electrical fire, that could cause another fire possibly even worse than the first and they should have professionals check the hotel out to make sure it was safe. The hotel staff acted like I was crazy and told me to return to my room and that is was safe. After arguing for anther 30 minutes, it was now almost 2AM in the morning, they finally agreed to move our room to the opposite end of the hotel away from the fire. Needless to say I didn't sleep the rest of the night worrying about another fire starting. I have no idea why but the hotel staff decided to risk the lives of every guest in the hotel rather than treat this situation in a professional manner as it would be in even the smallest of hotels in the US.

The hotel was nice, but far from four star even in European standards. It was more like a three star. The rooms and hotel was very clean. However, very far from any attractions. To get to the nearest Piazza, with restaurants, it was at least a 15 Euro cab ride each way (that is what you get thought when you purchase package at a discounted rate). The Metro was only a 10 minute walk. However, my wife nor I felt safe walking through the neighborhood to get back to the hotel especially at night. Some hotel staff were nice, most of the time they were unhelpful and rude. For information regarding tours, advice or restaurants we went to other hotels (even though we were not staying with them they were more than accommodating to help us, unlike our own hotel). One English speaking channel on the SMALL television that was fuzzy and about Russia only. In all, to avoid annoyances or disappointment, splurge on the extra money to stay closer.

The hotel was okay, the buffet was INCFEDIBLE but the rooms were like the pictures, the staff were not as accompadating, maybe because it was busy season.

The hotel has a lot of history. Would like to know more about it. Breakfast was a plenty. Could use a little more variety.

The hotel and it's staff were absolutely amazing! The most helpful you could imagine. Our Italian is not very good but they worked with us gave us direction recommendations and were so friendly! We had lost our luggage and the front desk called the airport for us and one of the staff event lent us his phone charger. The rooms were always spotless when we came back from a long day the breakfast had a good selection and the bar was lots of fun! The Metro station is 2 blocks away and pretty easy to use. My friend and I want to come back and stay here at the hotel again! We had an amazing experience and believe most of it was due to the great staff that they have working there! We miss them already!

It was located near the metro stop which made the commute easy and worry-free. The room's decor is simple and bathroom's shower is extremely small and tight. Breakfast has exact same items every day, but it is OK to fill yourself up before you start the day. Good restaurant nearby made dining out a pleasure. Will stay here again if come back to Rome.

Hi! If you use this hotel, just be ready for its not in the middle of Rome. I would suggest a lower quality hotel for the same money in the CENTER of Rome. The Hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice, just not close.

The room is extremely small. And,the amenities (detergent, towel, hair dryer, etc) supplied are extremely primitive.

The hotel was in a great location. Very quiet in the evenings. Rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was very new. Wonderful to be in such a large city and have a peaceful park across the street.

The staff at Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna was rude to us from the moment we checked-in to check-out. Not only were they rude to us but also to other guests. We asked for reservations in their restaurant and they told us they were full but did not offer any other suggestion. The bellhop was too busy chatting with his friends to help us or any other guests to their rooms including a family who had a lot of luggage and small children. The rooms were tiny, smaller than any of the other hotels we stayed in while in Italy. Also the rooms seemed dingy and cheap. There were scuff marks on the ceiling and dirty handprints on the wall.
