My mother and I had our 2nd stay at The First Luxury Art Hotel from 14th-17th May. I picked the First again, as we enjoyed staying there so much last June. Once again, we felt very spoiled and special from the moment we arrived - we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a breakfast package. The breakfast was lovely, both a huge buffet which gave lots of choice and also cooked eggs. bacon. This set us up for a day of wandering round Rome. I had booked the Prestige Room, as unfortunately there were no Junior Suite’s available when I booked. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of this room as it was bigger than I have seen other similar rooms in Rome. The only slight negative was that it did have a connecting door to the room next to it, so we did hear conversations and TV from the room next door – luckily the guests next door were not very noisy so it wasn’t too much of an issue. All the staff were lovely, in particular I must mention the blonde waitress with the bobbed hair at breakfast in the morning (didn’t get her name). She is so personable and was so attentive. She was also very enthusiastic about the art in the breakfast room and took time to explain the various pictures and tell us about the artists. Also the male and female on reception were really helpful to us. As with all the staff we spoke to, they were knowledgeable and friendly, whilst still being professional. When we found the hair dryer in our room wasn’t working, they quickly replaced it. They assisted us with reservations at Life, and, at very short notice, Hi-Res. We can really recommend both restaurants. This hotel is very central – you can easily walk to all the sights you may want to see. We look forward to staying again in this gorgeous hotel next time we visit Rome.
We booked the First Luxury Art Hotel again for our wedding anniversary having first stayed here in 2013. We booked a suite through Agoda and the hotel staff upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite with an incredible view. Recommend you call the hotel and make the booking direct to get the best rate. Everything in our cozy room was perfect with a wonderful bed, ensuite with rainfall shower, walk-out private terrace, hot tub, etc. The hotel staff figured out what day our anniversary was and surprised us with a special cake. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had an incredible experience, booking us restaurants, providing directions and always treating us with honest sincerity and caring. When we had a small issue on arrival, they fixed the issue and corrected the charge. We received a welcoming bottle of Prosecco on arrival and the jacuzzi was cleaned frequently and wonderful after a long walk around Rome. The view and feeling floating in our own private spa will not be forgotten! Special mention for the reception staff Joddir (sp) and everyone else for helping us find stores and making excellent resturant reservations. We made reservations in advance for both the Borghese Gallery (walking distance to hotel) and for a Vatican tour and suggest others do the same so they won't be disappointed. We highly recommend this wonderfully located five star hotel with ten star service!
We really enjoyed our stay in Rome and like the most enjoyable atmosphere of Rome so is the atmosphere at the hotel also spot on. They have very professionel personel who speak impeccable English and who try to fascilitate you in every way! An absolute gem of a hotel!
We spent a wonderful long weekend in Rome for our anniversary and loved the First Luxury Art Hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were so very welcoming and the hotel is beautifully styled. We were really pleased with the size and facilities of our Junior Suite which was beautifully decorated, including a TV disguised as a mirror. The location of the hotel was perfect for us - situated in a quiet side street but within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. It is just 10 mins walk from the Spanish Steps. We ate in the rooftop restaurant, which had just reopened after being refurbished. It was brilliant. The service from all the staff was excellent and the food was beautiful. It was so good that we ate there the second night too. We had such a great stay and hope to return again.
Great location and excellent concierge service. Restaurant Life was fabulous. Staff was extremely welcoming. Room was quite small wiTh limited closets and no drawers. No hooks in bathroom for robe or towels. Rooftop is amazing and view is outstanding. Boxed breakfast to go is such a nice extra. Server in breakfast room was excellent
Hotel was great with reasonable sized room considering it had a queens size bed in it. Bathroom was good size too with walk in shower. Clean with room service twice daily, cleaned in morning and then straightened in the evening. Staff we great too. Reception was very helpful with information and with sorting tickets for attractions etc We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that side. All in all I would recommend.
We enjoyed every bit of our 2 night stay at the hotel. Although it's in a central location close to many important sights, the side street location means that it's still an oasis of calm to escape to when you need to rest. Every staff member was ridiculously friendly, from the reception staff to the doormen, and especially the team in the restaurant. The superior room was well appointed and comfortable, and finishing and amenities of a high quality. Room service quality was good, as were breakfasts. Well worth the (slightly high) price tag - we will definitely visit when we travel back to Rome again!
This hotel is stunning and located in a great location in Rome that is near a number of attractions, but set on a quiet side street. The staff is professional and incredibly accommodating (especially Daniele, who recommended a fantastic gelateria just across the river). The food in the restaurant is also quite good, and the view from the rooftop deck is spectacular. We booked a junior suite and were thrilled to hear that we were upgraded. In light of all of this, it KILLS me not to give this place 5 stars...BUT there was an issue with our shower that was incredibly inconvenient and not up to par for a 5-star hotel suite for which we paid 500 Euro for a night. We stayed only one night, our last night in Italy, so didn't realize it until we woke up at 6am to get ready for the airport. The "shower" was simply a wand with a few holes for jets on it. While I know that this is fairly common in Europe, it's not consistent with other high-end hotels we stayed at in Italy (for example, Palazzo Manfredi in Rome, L'Orologio in Venice and Castello di Casole in Tuscany all had walk-in showers with wall or ceiling-mounted shower heads). In this case, I would have just lived with the wand...but the mechanism was broken. We called the desk and they graciously offered to come help, but we didn't have time since we were headed to the airport. So, long story short, I had to take a bath to clean up before a 10-hour flight. Super uncomfortable and inconvenient, as you can imagine. I don't know if other rooms have better accommodations, so perhaps this was a one off. In any event, if a shower isn't a big deal to you, I can otherwise recommend this hotel 100%.
Would highly recommend this hotel situated within a walking distance of all the best sites and shops. Rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff were great at the hotel, providing a professional service as well as giving recommendations and helping us visit the best eateries and drink spots. Shout out to Jubair who was extremely helpful and very attentive! You must stay here.
A real boutique hotel in the heart of Rome. A 30 seconds walk to the best shopping areas, but still located quietly and calmly. Fantastic staff that makes you feel like the most important person in the world. But still a down to earth engagement that feels like it's coming from the heart. Loved it.
