Not a really bad experience but no value for what you pay. Arrived and had reserved a 3 bed room but they had only prepared a 2 bed. So pulled a third from underneath. The room was not for 3 people so it was very crammed. Also washing machine was broken and air conditioning was broken in 33 degrees. No discount was offered. Also it's advertised as a b and b. There is no breakfast offered! Also we were not informed of a cleaner entering our room which we did not appreciate. I asked for no cleaner to enter the next night but one did anyway. So that wasn't ok.
Just to explain to you, I had to stay in another hotel for a night to have a good shower. If you care about cleanliness, this is definitely not the place for you. We booked 2 rooms through booking.com. The pictures on the site had nothing to do with the apartment we got. The apartment stinks of badly washed floors. We had awful bed linen; my sons and ours were synthetic. On the bed cover, we had cigarette holes as well as and stains. The towels were awful; they were so worn out that at some points you could see the other side, I called for them but they were sent only the next day. Only body towels. Nothing for the face. They took 20 Euros for cleaning; first time, we wanted to use the dishes in the kitchen , we found out that they were all dirty, they had drops of oil on them! Their idea of cleaning was to pass once a day to collect the garbage. First day, they did not even leave towels for my parents room. We made our beds. Positive aspects: strong WIFI, easy to find free parking space, the 2 rooms that we had were together in the same apartment. I still would never recommend this place to Anyone!!
Found this B&B on booking.com the instructions were quite helpful but it took us 1 and half hours to find instead on 33 mins which was suggested. The lady that opened the door made us feel welcome and comfortable and she was very nice and gave us instructions etc. she said we could use th e kitchen to cook. I was 3 rooms inside the apartment but we never saw anyone else. Stayed here for 1 night, only wish we could of stayed longer, it was very nice and clean, the shower was powerful and very hot. The kitchen was clean and it was in a very quite area. Nearest station is S.Giovanni station, past the Coin Store, walk on the opposite side of street, cross the road, walk over the tram lines and then turn Right and its about 200 yards down, its close to pizza restaurants a supermarket and cake shops. We felt like home away from home I would definitely recommend !!!!!
We stayed here for a week while visiting Rome. It is about a half hour walking distance to the Colosseum but there is a tram stop at the end of the street. Small, clean room with private bathroom. The couple that showed us the apartment were very friendly. The shower did not work and was fixed that day. There is a small kitchen, which was useful for making small meals. Overall a pleasant stay but was overshadowed by the very noisy family who moved in to the other apartment on our third day, who seemingly had no consideration for others. On a posotive note, we would recommend these apartments. Thanks Chris and Shell from Scotland Xx
I really liked staying here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Can be a little tricky to find at first. Breakfast is cakes and croissants etc, and u can help urself to tea and coffee when ever you want. It's in a good area but not close to the centre of town. Be prepared to walk or get transport. A taxi to the main area near pantheon where we went everyday only cost about 10 euros each way. Overall we enjoyed our stay just wished it was a little closer to the main tourist areas.
Massimo seems to manage a number of converted residential apartments. We like the San Giovanni area so were not too put out being moved on arrival. Others may not be so obliging or gracious. Facilities in the Felice Rooms (where we ended up staying) were just adequate but not good enough to self cater. Wifi was good
I see there are mixed reviews for this place, and I can understand why! This is neither a bed and breakfast, nor a hotel, but a man who owns a series of apartments in different buildings and tries to squeeze as many people as possible into each one. On the surface he is friendly and amenable, but actually he is very unreliable. I booked for two families and was promised a quadruple room plus a double with extra bed and sent a deposit in advance. When we arrived (after a long journey with two small children) we were told that we would have to "adapt" to what he had available, but were welcome to go elsewhere if we preferred (since it was a Saturday in high season and there were so many of us, this was not a viable option!). In the end we received a double room with no extra bed, so three people ended up sleeping in a double bed (they had brought their own travel cot for the baby), and another double room with three beds. We insisted on a fourth bed, as we were four adults, and he just about managed to fit it in, but implied we were "difficult"! The beds were comfortable and the apartment was away from the main road, therefore quiet, but the place is vastly overpriced. We paid €120 for the double and €140 for the "quadruple". Our two rooms were in different buildings, at least 5 minutes' walk from each other, so that wasn't great either. Oh, and the hot water ran out before we had all had a shower (the result of squeezing too many people into an apartment!). Only book this if you really can't find anything else and don't mind taking a risk!
We booked a room via Laterooms at this place. Apparently they didn't have a room available because of some plumbing issue but didn't inform us. When we got there and called the owner to let us in, he just kept saying he'd give us a room the next day and when I said that didn't work, he simply shouted and said to call Laterooms to fix the problem.
We stayed 5 nights at the T&V House. It is a cheap B&B which does not provide much comfort. Nevertheless, for those who just want an acceptable place to stay, it is perfect. It is a little bit hard to find and you may have to call the owner, because there might be nobody there. Breakfast was horrible. Besides: The next Metro Stop is about 5-10 minutes away. Supermarket + Pizzeria is around the corner. Walking to the colosseum takes about 30 minutes. City Center: 40 minutes. In a nutshell: Good for students. Not much comfort. Not expensive. Not far from city.
We booked our room through Cross-Pollinate.com expecting the accommodation to match the pictures we saw, however the owner has a number of apartments and we were put in a different not as nice looking one. In our booking we had advised an estimated arrival time of 8 pm but ended up in Rome early and advised the owner about 20 minutes before we got to the accommodation. However we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the owner to arrive as he doesn't live on site. The owner was friendly and spoke reasonable english and told us about how the area was really good and quiet. However the place is on a very busy main road and we needed earplugs for sleeping as traffic noise was quite loud into the early hours. The kitchen was equipped enough for us to be able to cook our own meals but the oven didn't work and the owner didn't know why. The location is about 10 minutes walk from a metro stop and a few stops to Roma Termini station so not particularly central but not too far away. We asked to leave our bags after we had checked out but we were unable to do so and had to pay for storage at Termini. We found this quite unexpected and inconvenient and have not had this problem at any other accommodation we have stayed at before. The room was 65 Euros which is apparently a good price for Rome.
