I'm glad we only had carry-on luggage because anything larger would have been very tight in the room. The room was clean and quiet and the beds were decent. Most of the staff spoke little English so it was tough to communicate. [Yes, I need to learn more Italian.] The location was excellent and walkable to a lot of things. We didn't have the breakfast so I don't know if it was good or not. You can always go to D'Angelo around the corner. Be prepared to go up to the 4th floor on a tiny elevator.
Hi, We were here for 4 nights and I don't think I could've sleep another one. 4 nights in such a small room was very pleasant. I know we asked for a private room, a room with the bathroom inside and not for a lobby bathroom but the size of the room was "petite". The room was very clean, the clean the room daily, the bathroom was really spacious but I have to say this was the smallest bed we slept in. My husband's feet were out and almost touching the other wall. If he would stretch his arms he could've touch both walls. The breakfast was also good, but having the same menu for 4 days was not really great. The staff is really friendly, although they don't speak a very good English we could get along. If you plan to stay here I wouldn't recommend more than a night or max 2. & hope for a bigger room, not sure if they have bigger.
Like it's said in other review nice and simple . Good night sleep , the juice for breakfast is far to sweet. Over all the building is from the 50's but it 's got his charme. The Staff is nice and friendly can comme late at night no problem. So all together good quality for price.
As in several previous reviews, we found Hotel Margaret to be excellent value for money. 2 star rating is about right...clean, polite (English-speaking) staff, and located literally minutes walk from many, many of Rome's fabulous attractions. Over a 5 day stay we never needed to use any form of public transport to visit every possible place of interest. We took the city bus tour on our 1st day, thinking we'd need to use it to see everything. NOT neccesary...you can walk everywhere over a couple of days & see much more!
Hotel Margaret and their staff are perfect! Rooms are clean, breakfast is fresh and delicious. Location is amazing, only 4 minutes for walk to Republica subway station. Air contidion is good. We hope, see you again :)
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on a budget. It is comfortable, secure and close to public transport options. The staff are helpful. Please don't expect frills nor other luxuries you may receive at 3 star or higher hotels. My only concern, albeit minor, was the level of city tax applied. It was €3 per person per night, not 2 as I expected for a 2 star hotel. I am far from being an expert on Italian taxes, so I paid the extra amount cheerfully.
It's located in top of a bulding that has several hotels. For the price is an excellent option. Breakfast is included. Staff is very friendly, they helped us about adresses, turistic sites and transportation.
Very simple and confortable room, nice shower, air conditioner, confortable bed, wi fi working well, clean, good breakfast (Macchiatto in the machine was fine, they bring fresh and warm croissant and roll to you!) Well located, they give you a map explaining every directions. Staff is friendly. A peculiar elevator! Cheap and Nice!
Perfectly located, cosy rooms, friendly service. Only issue: If you stay central you get whatever IS central. meaning: Streets are never quiet.... But this is nothing about the Hotel but the georgeous City of Rome.
My friend and I recently stayed here for 4 nights and whilst the location is excellent there are a number of serious failings in this hotel. The hotel is a few rooms on the 4th floor of a 6 story block with a number of small businesses on the other floors. The room (411) was small and dingy with a wardrobe , basin, bed and little else . It was however clean and acceptable as was the continental breakfast. What lets the place down badly is the complete absence of any Fire Precautions whatsoever. Bearing in mind it is on the 4th floor there is No Fire Alarm System No Smoke detection system No "what to do in case of fire " notices No self closing or close fitting smoke stop doors No alternative means of escape , but worst of all there is an unprotected passenger lift shaft running the entire height of the building. How the local authorities allow this place to operate is without comprehension. If you value your life then swerve this place.
