We had a nightmare in Rome after a booking cancelled on us last minute leaving us without a hotel. il villino and staff managed to get a room sorted and cleaned for us to stay for the night. Thank you.

The hotel is very well located for Trastevere station. You can take a direct train from Fiumicino airport from there so it's comfortable, unless you're carrying big suitcases because you have to go up a lot of stairs on the way. It's on the far end of Trastevere so you would still need a tram to go to the "trendy" part where all the restaurants are located. I needed a hotel close to a supermarket and transport to the airport so this hotel fit my needs. If you're doing sightseeing I recommend another location. As for the inside of the hotel the room was ok because it was clean, but half the light bulbs didn't work, others needed constant tightening. In the bathroom the shower holder was broken so you had to hold it in one hand. So, overall the rooms need a lot of maintenance. Check in also took a long time because it's in the restaurant and there was only one lady doing everything. It's nice they offer a beverage on arrival, but making 4 beverages for the group in front of us, then checking them in, then checking us in was a long process. The breakfast could also be improved. I don't like complaining much about this because tastes vary, but in this case for us it was really poor.

Rooms are very clean and rather small, so certainly adequate for a few night's stay. Staff, especially Mario and Roberta are extremely helpful and friendly, especially with directions and what to see in Rome. It is a small hotel so the front desk person may also get your breakfast if you want to leave early. They always seemed to want to accommodate us and we were very pleased with the Hotel. Easy to Tram rides to the Piazza Venicia and the Coliseum

I’ll say that the staff are lovely and helpful but the air con unit in my room did not work properly. I was charged for this despite me complaining three times to the staff, we even had to sleep with the door open to get air from the corridor outside which seemed to be far cooler I don’t think it’s fair to advertise as having air conditioning when clearly it was not working. It was 32 degrees heat in Italy and I slept terribly. Tried to ask the hotel for compensation given the fact I paid for and got no where If you want a room with air con which I did and specifically wanted out of a hotel in Rome, don’t go here

Good location, close to tram, bus and train station. Quiet area. Nice rooms. The building is very acoustic. Breakfast could be better; one has to wait very long for some cheese, ham and coffee (one person for everything, trying to serve, clean up, make coffee etc.). The staff tries to do their best, but they just aren't professionals, accidental persons rather. The biggest minus is for the cleaning. I mean rooms were clean, but you wouldn't like to know how does it happen when you're not there. During our stay it was very rainy in Rome, all 5 days. We had room no. 2, next to reception, ground floor. After the whole day spent in the city we came back and found the window wide open, the floor was wet and so were also all my shoes I kept in the bag under the window. Cleaning staff just left the window open, despite I let it closed. Well, I didn't say nothing, but the next day asked the girl at the reception desk not to let the cleaning persons in. I also hung the "do not disturb" item on the handle, wanting my shoes to get dry in peace. Imagine my shock when we came back again in the evening and found AGAIN the window wide open, again water everywhere and moreover my own pajama pants (I left it neatly folded under my pillow) rolled up together with some wet towel, stuck between window and window frame, used as a kind of bracket in order to avoid the possibility that the window could close!!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes... And that's why: no, never again.

Hotel is in quite peaceful location, but very close to tram station which has direct connection with centre of the city (Piazza Venezia, Coloseu...). Also it is on 5 minutes walk distance from Trastavere train station, which has direct line to Fuminicino airport. Rooms are very nice, comfortable and extra clean. Breakfast is served on nice terrace. in very pleasant environment, perfect for the start of the day. Also, breakfast offer is quite good, including espresso or americano coffee. Staf is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back to it.

I would definitely come back here. This hotel is in a converted priest's house in a lovely neighborhood just above Trastevere, steps from Stazione Trastevere. It is an easy tram ride to the action in Trastevere and also the centro of Rome, with frequent trams. Quiet spot with a beautiful terrace, flowering trees, and very nice staff. Just be sure you ask for a room that is not in the lower floor unless you like sleeping in a cave.

Perfect for a couple of nights in Rome. We stayed as a family of four. The room was small but we only slept there so was sufficient. The staff in the sister hotel were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was good. Would definitely return here.

Nice hotel, good location, very good cleaning services, quick maintenance for any spoiled equipment in the room (actually instant replacement). Negligible bad attitude from the staff, was certainly fixed when complained to manager about same. Regardless the staff attitude issues, good hotel for its price...just dont expect to be receiving Ritz, four seasons, hilton or marriot treatment. Another note, no elevator in il vilino, so if you could not use stairs ensure to ask the hotel for a room on the ground floor. Last comment, the shower cabin is extremely small (60cm × 60cm), if you are fat (like me) dont also expect to shower easily in this cabin.

I stayed here for 5 nights and I honestly couldn't have asked for anything better. the location is fantastic, we were a 30 minute train ride from the airport and then just a short 5minutes walk. It is of the main road, in a quiet location. You are beside one of the main tram lines into the centre of Rome but we never used this as the weather was beautiful and didn't want to waste it so we walked into the centre which is only 10/15minutes away and the perfect excuse to spend that tram money on an ice cream for the walk. The owner is extremely helpful with any questions you may have and very knowledgeable about the area. He also let us print our boarding passes and minded our luggage on the day we checked out. The room was perfect. Very spacious with loads of storage space and honestly one of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever had in a hotel. Your room is cleaned daily and the bathroom is restocked with anything you have used. You also don't have the additional charge of Aircon in your room which is a huge plus. Breakfast is that classic continental, so we started each day with a crossiant, cappacino and juice. I was more than happy with this. The hotel is also just a short 15minutes walk from a wide selection of restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend this hotel and if ever in rome again will stay here.
