Our family of 7 persons stayed at the Gallia Hotel for 3 nights. We had 3 comfortable rooms but must mention the fantastic room the 3 young people had - it was enormous with a double and a single bed and a separate part for the lovely bathroom and dressing area. The Buffet breakfast each morning had a good selection of hot and cold dishes with Coffee/Tea and Orange Juice. It also has a great roof terrace where you can sit and sunbathe.

Every thing you have read about this hotel is true...great location to get about Rome especially using the hop on/hop off bus..the stop is just across the square...the staff are pleasant, the beds are very comfy and clean...breakfast is ok if you like continental food but personally I like hot food in the morning...we enjoyed our stay here but then we never fuss over the little things .But this is not a 4 star hotel where everything just just right.Yes the wallpaper is peeling and damp patches on the ceiling, infact we had a damp wet spot on the way to our bathroom. We had no safe in our room although they said it would be sorted. It never appeared...yes a kettle and coffee and tea and sugar but no milk???.The shower need to be replaced as a bit scummy and the smallest towels provided that I have ever seen...small towel at sink was a tea towel...So not the best hotel and would not stay there again but didn't stop us enjoying Rome

Having walked from the Termini to our booked Edera Hotel we were 'greeted' by a somewhat uninterested receptionist informing us they had overbooked and were moving us to a sister hotel, the Gallia. Not a good start to our trip, but on arrival at the Gallia we were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful receptionist and proceeded to our rooms, which were warm, with comfortable beds and good hot showers. Breakfast a little basic, but the hotel is well situated for Colliseum(15min walk), Termini(10min walk), and has numerous restaurants and bars within 5-15min walk. Wouldn't rate it as a 4star hotel but would defintely stay again as it has a great rooftop terrace, friendly staff and good location.

Staff were friendly and polite, check in was very quick and easy. Breakfast was ok (oranges were fantastic as was the coffee). The rooms are slightly dated but are what you would expect. That said, the doorframe on my room had obviously been replaced at some point and did not look that secure. Bathroom was spacious and bed was comfortable. The mini bar was reasonably priced. The great thing about this hotel is the location and the roof terrace. The terrace provides a stunning view over Rome and to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore next door. The hotel is a short walk from many sights and just 5 minutes from Termini. There are some great places to eat and drink in Termini area. Positives - Location, price, views, roof terrace, friendly staff, Negatives - decor in room was a bit shabby, tiny lift

We stayed at the hotel Gallia for 4 nights. It is well located close to the railway station and 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum. The accommodation is quite simple and our room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was good with choice of meats and cheeses plus fruit and great coffee served by a very friendly waitress. The man on reception in the mornings ( sorry we have forgotten his name) was brilliant. He took the time to advise us where to go and how to get there and made some great recommendations - so thank you to him. The staff and reception in the evening where much less helpful when we asked 'where are some nice bars/restaurants?' - the reply we got was a blunt ' they are everywhere' which was not at all helpful. Overall however, we would stay again.

This hotel is in a great location for sightseeing, with most of the major sites in walking distance. It’s most definitely not a 4 star hotel though! The rooms are very tired with wallpaper peeling off the walls along with old fixtures and fittings. On a positive note the bedding and bathroom were spotless and the staff were really friendly & helpful. Our stay here was cut short due to a breakdown of the heating system, following snow and icy conditions in Rome. The staff were very apologetic and arranged accommodation at their sister hotel along with transportation there.

Please do not go to this hotel. I booked this hotel and chose to pay at the my arrival. However, the hotel somehow used my credit card that I used as a guarantee and debited it. I contacted them and they said it was a pre-autorisation and that it will be removed automatically. but it wasn't and funds were removed from my bank account. Your payment methods will not be safe with them. best case scenario they didn't know how to create a real pre-authorisation, but then they would have discovered their mistake when I contacted them. Please do not use them if you want your payment methods to be handled by professional and careful people.

At check-in, The staff just ask for passport and gave me the keys. No explanation on hotel policies, breaktfast time, wifi password or anything else but there was a sign that had most the basic info. Elevator is old and outdated and only hold 3 people max. You can actually walk faster to your floor. The safe in the room was not bolted down. Wifi Sucks(0.17Mbps down and 0.07Mbps up) and so did the breakfast. Wifi will ask you to login every 30mins or so or just stop working for several minutes. Breakfast was mediocre. Boil eggs are either overcook or from the day prior. Minibar fridge smell like old rotten eggs and will burn my eyes after opening it. Bathroom looks renovated but shower stall was TINY. The wooden room floor, bathroom(minus the shower stall) and bed was probably the only good thing about the room. Walls are also old and outdated. smells like mold and had cracks in them. There was no hot water at certain times(usually after 11PM). Sad thing is we had to pay the 4 star hotel tourist tax when this hotel is 2-3 stars at best.

This is a really nice hotel with great staff and exceptional location. The common areas are very clean and extremely comfortable. The rooms are well furnished and have a classic look and feel. Located adjacent to the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore and many local restaurants. There is also a Hop On Hop Off stop just across the square giving you exceptional access to the city. Also easy walk to the Romi Termini (Train Terminal). They have a really good breakfast to start the day. Easy walk Colosseum and Roman Forum. No doubt we will stay here again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a classic look, which we loved. Most major attractions within walking distance. Good view from rooftop and good restaurants in close proximity. Loved it.
