We stayed here on a recommendation by a friend and I didn't read the awful reviews before paying full upfront to get the best rate. After buying our room I saw some reviews and was apprehensive. However, we're here now and it's fine, actually pretty good. The price is good for what is included. Our room is clean with basic amenities. There are high quality, noise insulated, windows that open. The outside wooden shutters also open, allowing in lots of light and fresh air. The AC is extremely quiet, in fact much better than those in many US hotels. The drapes raise and lower electrically by pressing a switch and they make the room very dark. It was quiet and we slept well. When we arrived there was a slight smell of antiseptic left by the maid, but that cleared out after the windows were left open for a while. The bathroom is small, but functional, with a glass enclosed shower, sink, toilet and a bidet. The beds aren't bad. They are firm, if a little lumpy, but again, we slept well. Our room is on the 4th floor and it's a walk-up, which could possibly be a problem for someone with leg issues. Internet works without encryption, that is no login, but for my purposes the lack of security is not a problem, and it increases the range. The service people are all very nice and helpful. Not being a large hotel it makes sense there is no 24 hour receptionist. The hotel requested that we inform them of our arrival time, which we did, so someone was there to check us in. Lucia arranged for a taxi to bring us from the airport. It was 5£ more than normal but the driver came into the baggage claim to get us with our name on a sign. After a long flight it was certainly worth 5£. Breakfast includes basics: pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, juice and, my favorite, excellent Cappuccino. Know what to expect and you'll find its a good deal.
Stayed in Hotel Foro Romano Imperatori back in June. Lovely hotel and very friendly staff, rooms very clean and bed comfortable which was great. Breakfast good, great location not far from the metro and right beside the Colosseum.Easy access to all the other tourist spots. Would definitely stay their again have to say I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.
We made the reservation being told this was clearly the hotel in the photos but when we arrived they put us in a building across the street that was so dirty my son became ill. The photos on the Web have nothing to do with the property. There was a very very strong sewer smell emanating from the bathroom and filing the entire room. The bathroom and shower were covered in mildew and accumulated dust and dirt. We were afraid to shower. The shutters would not stop banging all night long and we couldn't get any sleep. The owners are extremely dishonest. The first day, when we complained about the room, they immediately charged or full length of stay for fear we would leave so we were basically stuck! Clearly being in Rome they feel they can cheat customers and always have enough tourist come by. But I would recommend staying anywhere but here!
This is not a hotel...Looks like residential building that has not hotel lobby or entrance to the street. I sense that the reviews are either paid for or fake. We booked and came in at 8:30pm. There was no one around. All doors were locked and the phone number that was called nobody answered. We very displeased with the service and condition and had to go book another room within the same evening.
this small hotel is lacated a few blocks from the coliseum, so with a short walk you are in the center of the city. When I let know Roberto that I was traveling with my 84 years old mother he specially give us a great room in the first floor and carry her carry on lugage upstairs Thank You The beds are confortable and the breakfast delicious
I booked Foro Romano for a birthday weekend trip with my wife and four-year-old kid. The hotel offered us an airport transfer, so I sent them my flight number and requested a taxi with a child seat. They confirmed that the taxi with a child seat will be waiting. When we arrived around midnight, the driver met us, took us all the way across the airport to the parking lot, and only then announced that he actually didn't bring the child seat, but we can just go without it. That is illegal in Italy, and that would be putting my child's life at risk. When I contacted the hotel, they told me "Your cheap flight arrived with a delay" (I suppose the child seat therefore turned into a pumpkin), so basically now it's my problem that the public transit is closed for the night, and I don't have a booster seat with me, having trusted the hotel's promise. In the end we had to walk to the nearest hotel at 1am (with the kid, the bags and all), and pay 300€ for one night there. After that Foro Romano charged me for the full two nights (I never set foot in the place, obviously).
The best Hotel in the center of Rome. Wonderful room, great breakfast, incredible location. I come back soon. viva italia, foro romano coloseum cafè italiani. Greetings to Miss Lucia e Roberto. Ciaooo
Wow, well to start the elevator does not work apparently, which is great when you have heavy suitcases and are staying in the upper floors. Also, no wifi. We were told that our room is far from the router...of course after being told that they had wifi. The room is TINY, which I can handle except it seemed that no one that was staying there had any regard for other guests and spent all night slamming doors and hackling loudly in the halls. Shower was tiny as well, don't drop the soap!!! Ill fitted toilet seat too, it was lose and obviously not meant for that toilet. The only good thing about the hotel was the location. That's it...
The hotel is rather small, but the rooms are quite large - larger than any other European similar budget hotel we've stayed at. The location is quite amazing, and after you walk the city a bit or manage your way through the public transportation you really start to appreciate the location. But the really best thing at the hotel is the service. Roberto and the other lady from the desk (sadly enough I didn't get her name) went out of their ways to see that we are ALWAYS satisfied, happy and are enjoying our trip at Rome. The breakfast is basic but more than enough, even for the more spoiled guests. The room is very clean and welcoming, the bathrooms are very well equipped and everything is renewed daily. The staff had no problem to keep our luggage at the day of check out after check out. In general - defiantly our first choice for the next time at Rome.
We stayed here for 4 nights and were thrilled with the location. Before we arrived, Roberto called us to make sure we knew our way to the hotel and greeted us on arrival which was late. Our room was lovely and spacious with a nice en suite. It was right next to the breakfast room so in the morning we could hear voices but we didn't really mind as we got up early to explore each day. Breakfast was fine-pastries, cereals, cheese, yoghurts, fruit. Plenty of everything. Wifi was perfect-no problems at all. The location is absolutely fantastic-so close to the colosseum. Very near the metro station and very close to some fantastic restaurants as well. Roberto and all the staff were so nice to us. They even held on to our bags on our last day as we had a late flight. I can't say enough nice things about them and the hotel. Thank you for our lovely stay. We will be back!
