Very friendly staff & owner, close to the metro station (underground) €1:50 each way was a bargain & the colosseum is a short walk away. Hotel is very clean & a variety of languages are spoken. Stayed for 3 nights on a city break & did all the sights as they were within walking distance or on the metro. Would use the hotel again.
This hotel is centered on a road junction. It is noisy throughout the night with traffic passing right outside the hotel making it difficult to sleep. We complained about the disgusting, foul-smelling fridge which was covered in mould but nothing was offered as an alternative. We could not chill our water or enjoy cold drinks. The room looked out onto half a dozen homeless men sleeping on filthy mattresses who called to us and asked for money and cigarettes. There were urine stains along the street near the hotel making walking around at night very unpleasant and we were told that it is not safe to walk around after dark in that area. The breakfast was basic consisting of fruit squash, hard white bread, tinned fruit salad and sugary cakes with no toasting facility. One cannot have breakfast on the terrace or enjoy fresh orange juice and croissants as the website photos suggest. The Colosseum is a good 30 mins walk and there is little else nearby in the way of good restaurants or bars. On departure we were asked to pay tourist tax that we had not been told about.
Visited Rome and stayed at Hotel Bled earlier this month. The hotel was a significant distance from the majority of tourist sights and not in an area you felt safe to walk around on your own. The hotel has no bar despite it saying on the website it has. The breakfast had a very minimal range of only cold food, we asked for some toast which they said they could not provide. On one of the days we stayed the weather was awful and so had to remain in hotel until thunder and lightning had passed, when we asked if we could have some coffee we were told no as the coffee machine is only turned on early morning! No food or drinks are available other than the breakfast period. The rooms we had were small, and in need of a good clean. Dust was evident everywhere. Some of the staff were unfriendly to a point of rudeness on several occasions. The hotel is in quite a run down state and in need of refurbishment, however the lack of any customer service was the biggest problem for us, we could have seen past the conditions had the service made up for it. Would not recommend it and would certainly not stay in the hotel again.
The hotel is on a 'not so popular' side of town. Didnt feel safe walking back to the hotel at night. Its quite far away from everything and had to walk far to get to places. On the way back to the hotel there was a woman who stole a friends phone out of her bag, will distracting her, it took literally 5 seconds for my friend to notice and the lady had vanished. Be careful with your bags, keep them locked or by your side, holding onto it. My friends bag was hangling by her side and the little distraction caused, made it so easy for the lady to zip open her bag and take her phone, anyways back to the hotel. The breakfast was okay, there weren't alot of varietys , bit there was enough. The staff was willing to help, and friendly. The only problem i had was that theres a building next to the hotel used, and there wasnt a lift. So we had to carry our heavy bags up 3 flights of stairs.
Very friendly, welcoming front desk. Hotel Bled gives you a distinctive Italianate experience with classic decor and furniture. Breakfast was good with lots of choice in a calm and cool environment. (Lovely as temperature outside was 37 degrees+.) Charming and uncomplicated hotel. Front desk person leant us his phone charger as ours didn't work. Very helpful with where to walk and get to places. Air- con was a little noisy but constant so sleep was ok. Clean rooms and en-suite was good. Lovely shower. Great value all round. 25 min walk to Colloseum and 20 minutes to 2nd stop on hop-on/off bus stop. Would go back again. Litter is a problem on all the pavements and roads in the area.
We spent two nights here for our city break and we had a fantastic time. The staff were very friendly and helpful and also very patient with our attempts to speak Italian (thankfully they all had some English !). The room and bathroom were both spotlessly clean, and although they are dated in décor, they have a lot of character which we liked. The room has a mini bar (pay for on check out) but no actual bar and the room had air con (although old and a little noisy) it was certainly welcome after a long day sightseeing in the July sun. The road outside was quite noisy but with the shutters closed it was not an issue, especially since we are used to road noise being from London. Breakfast was a good selection of hams, cheese and breads with pastries, cereals and jams too. My husband was very happy with the excellent coffee. The location of the hotel is a particular selling point as it is only a 5-10 min walk to the metro and only two stops from Termini where the airport express train deposits you. The area was safe to walk around even at night and the desk is open 24 hours if you need any help. The Coliseum is a 20 minute walk - which is worth doing for the added sights along the way. For a 3 star hotel this was an excellent choice and we would not hesitate to stay here again if we get the chance to visit this beautiful and friendly city.
This was a wonderful hotel-sleep was great and the breakfast couldn't be beaten. Location was perfect for exploring the city with the Metro straight down the road. The staff were never less than helpful and friendly and I will certainly stay here again
I booked this hotel for a short weekend in Rome via Wizz air tour. It proved to be a good option. It looks exactly like on their gallery. But If you're looking for imperfections you will find them. Its probably old as all buildings in Rome are so. They serve a good breakfast with real coffee. I mean its reach for a three star hotel, and for a budget booking. Considering this, it has exceeded my expectations.Friendly staff, which I have always appreciate as something very important especially for a short city break when you need advises. One draw back though: located on a crossroads, and having a poor insulation, you can hear all the noise from the streets if your room is on the that side! Metro Manzoni station is 5 minute away.
Positives: - Friendly staff (generally) - Secure - Nice terrace area - Decent breakfast Negatives: - Dusty room (we stayed in the building not attached to reception) - The rooms we had booked were not available - Limited breakfast options - Mould in the shower - Broken light switch - Not enough coat hangers - Stains on the bedding
The hotel is very nice. Staff friendly, very helpful and good speak English. Room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. There is good speed Internet and wifi access in room. Breakfast was great. Very tasty and fresh. Many and plural dishes. Neighborhood is calmly. 3 minutes walk are shops. Location is only few minutes walk from metro station. I can recommend this hotel for everyone who want good and not very expensive hotel.
